CHAPTER 43.

  ~Avery~

I was moving my lips, shaking my head but the words wouldn't form. I couldn't speak because I didn't know what to say. Even though I desperately wanted to say something, I couldn't, because the words I wanted to say wouldn't have been honest.

”What is happening?” Amber's voice was shaky and quiet. She sounded scared.

”I don’t know,” I said. It felt as though those were the only words able to leave my lips.

”Do you remember all the good times we had?” Amber asked me while eyeing me cautiously.

”Honestly?” I asked and she nodded her head

"Yes," She said and so I continued.

  ”No,” I whispered.

”I mean I remember the moments when everything was good, or at least not as messed up as they are now but I don't remember what it felt like, I don't remember the feeling of being happy.” I said and watched as Amber's head slowly bobbed up and down and she removed her eyes from me.

”Honesty’s a bitch,” she spat and stared at the wall.
