At Sun Mo's side-

Sun Mo, in darkness, kept on absorbing the Qi inside the life booster pill that he had gulped down a long ago but he was never able to absorb all the power it holds.

There were many limitations on how much one can absorb the Qi and because Life Booster Pill is no small thing, Sun Mo had to make sure that he don't do anything that will raise suspicion. 

He may have gulped all of the pills he got from Chiyou but when he tried absorbing them all, he sensed a huge burst of Qi inside his body which was enough to blow him up.

Thus he decided to go one by one, not all in one.

But in a few months, he came across a stop, bottleneck and he couldn't absorb the pill, rather if he tried to forcefully absorb more Qi from the pill, then his body again start heating up, and then the danger of being blown away was guaranteed.
