C1: The Hideout Café

Reading books with earbuds on and a warm coffee.

That's what I usually do when I feel like I'm being locked inside our gigantic house when even though our parents rarely come home early and what's the point of having a very big house when it's only me and my brother with our guardian and some nannies are usually home everyday.

Well I can't just let myself be bothered, I'm used to it.

Anyways, I haven't introduced myself yet obviously.

I am Kang Jiyeon, a high school student. Unfortunately, I am the daughter of one of the most well-known entrepreneurs, shareholders, industrialist, CEOs and etc. Believe me or not, I'm not proud to mention those informations about my parents and I'm basically not bragging because that is something not worthy to brag.

I am studying at Seoul University of Arts and I have an older brother and he's Kang Seojun, we are labeled by our guardian as "Tom & Jerry" because we always fight and argue at little things but when we are at school, we always act like we don't know each other and I don't know why.

Anyway, I am currently here at The Hideout Café and this is where you can find me whenever I'm suddenly gone or lost, I am always here if I'm bored and if I want to have a 'me-time' while reading my favorite book while listening to some of my favorite tracks.

I sip on my favorite Caramel Macchiato, listening to LAUV and Taeyeon songs while I was reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, I am doing my usual routine everytime I'm here at this café but all of the sudden, I saw a hand waving in front of me as I looked up and It surprised me as I looked at him up & down.

"Erm--" He stutters while rubbing the back of his neck.

(Who the heck is this beautiful human being?)

"Excuse me, who are you?" I asked him as he smiled at me warmly and bowed out of nowhere.

"Sorry, I'm just really nervous right now." He said while chuckling nervously and he looked tensed.

I sighed then removed my earbuds from my ears, I even put my book on the table, I crossed my arms and leaned on the chair as I stared at him with piercing look.

"I usually don't talk to strangers but say what you want to say before I will change my mind." I said as he even looked more tensed and nervous.

He took a deep breath and broke a smile at me.

I literally froze on my seat as I gulped.

(Holy moly, that smile can cure cancer... )

(What is happening here?)

(What am I even doing with this guy?)

"Hello I am Kim Min Joon, I always see you here while reading those heart wrenching books and I just can't take it anymore but to approach you." He said.

(Even his name sounds pretty awesome.)

"That's sweet." I smiled as he looked flustered.

"You think so?" He asked as I nodded.

"May I know your name though?" He asked politely.

"Kang Jiyeon." I said as he looked surprised.

"By some chance, do you know Kang Beomseok and Kang Yuna?" He asked curiously.

(He knows my Mom and Dad...)

"Erm--- I don't know who they are but I heard a lot about them especially on news and TV." I lied.

"Oh I thought you are their daughter, I will really feel honored to meet the heirs because they never showed them to the public." Minjoon said as I chuckled.

"So you mean, meeting and talking to me right now doesn't make you feel honored or satisfied at least?" I asked him as he froze and shook his head.

"Oh no no, that's not what I meant." Minjoon smiled. "Talking to you right now just makes me happy already." He said sincerely as I froze in my seat again.

"Woah, easy." I chuckled. "We just met and talked."

"I'm actually this friendly so don't be surprised." Minjoon said as I nodded.

"I always encounter guys like you though, I'm used to it already so no worries." I said as he smiled AGAIN.

"We are both still in high school right?" Minjoon asked.

"Yep." I nodded.

"What school do you go in?" Minjoon asked.

I was supposed to answer his question but my phone rang, I excused myself and answer the call from my brother as Minjoon nodded and sat on the chair in front of me, I went a little far from the table.

: Yes Oppa?

- I need you right now in the house.

:Ugh, why again? To fight and annoy me?

-No, this is serious and urgent.

:Eh? Answer my question, why do you need me?

-Mom and Dad is here but with Grandpa.

:Wait, did I hear it right? It's too early for them to be home this time and also....with Grandpa?

- Yes, heard it right and they said we will have some family dinner because it's been awhile.

:This sucks and I have a bad feeling about this so there's no way I'm going there right now.

-If you are not going then I will pick you up at Hideout myself Jiyeon, I swear.

I panicked as I looked Minjoon from a far, I took a deep breath and rolled my eyes, Seojun oppa gets really strict and protective all of the sudden when he knows I'm with some guys or If he'll know I am getting close with some guys.

:No! Fine, I will be home 20 or 10 minutes from now.

-Good, better hurry up. Grandpa wants to see you.

:Whatever you say...

I ended the call and walked towards Minjoon, he looked at me confused and puzzled as I pouted at him.

"Minjoon, I am really sorry but I have to go now. My brother just called me and something urgent is happening right now." I said while writing something on the tissue paper.

"Oh It's okay..." He looked sad when he said it. "Before you leave though... Can I ask for your numb----"

I cut him off by giving him the tissue paper with my number on it as I smiled at him while packing my things and put it inside my bag.

"Bye Minjoon, contact me anytime." I said.

"Bye, take care Jiyeon." Minjoon said as I left and saw him waving his hand on me as I waved back before going inside the car with my driver as he drove towards our house.
