The Icy Superhero

Warren and his parents were driving home from a hockey game one night and Warren was staring off into the distance.

'Did you enjoy the hockey game?' asked Warren's mother. 'Yeah it was fine.'

Truth is, Warren actually doesn't like hockey but he he pretends he does because his parents are super fans.

They continued driving and they came across a bridge. Suddenly, the next thing he knew, Warren and his parents were going head first into the icy water.

Warren woke up in the hospital, freezing cold, and very confused. There were cords and IVs attached to him.

'Good to see your finally awake' said a voice.

Warren looks around to see his aunt, Freya, sitting in an armchair across the room.

Warren and Freya were very close relatives and he was glad to see the sight of her, but she made him remember his parents.

'Where are they? Where are my parents?' asked Warren. 'I'm sorry' were the only words that came of Aunt Freya's mouth.

'No, no!' Warren thought. 'This cannot be happening.'

As Warren heart beat grew, a doctor came in.

'Is everything okay?' The doctor asked. 'I just told him the bad news' responded Freya.

It took a few minutes, but the doctor and Aunt Freya, together, were finally able to calm Warren down.

'I need to go the restroom' said Warren.

As he scurried off to the bathroom, Warren burst back out in tears. Warren locked the bathroom door behind him and just sat against the wall, on the tile floor.

Several minutes later, Warren got his composure back. He looked into the restroom mirror and that was when he noticed that his once hazel eyes were now icy blue, his skin was now snow white along with his hair.. Could below-freezing water do this to a person?

Warren could not believe this was happening to him. First, his parents and now, his eyes. Warren was so mad that he slammed his fists against the marble counter, but as he did so, ice spread across it and also travelled to part of the wall.

'What the hell?!' exclaimed Warren.

Warren tried unlocking and getting out of the restroom but when he touched the doorknob, ice spread over it too. He was eventually able to yank the door open and Warren started running. He ran out of the hospital, down the road, and somehow made it all the way to his house.

Warren was freaking out. People weren't suppose to be able to freeze things with their hands. Why was this happening to him.

Warren wanted to see what else he was able to do so he grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and put it on the island in his kitchen. He concentrated on what it felt like the first time he used his, I guess, powers and frost started coming off of his hand. He then shot a blast of ice towards the water bottle and it froze along with the table.

I guess when something extremely terrible happens, there has to be something cool too, right?
