Home sweet home

Bella's POV:

You must be wondering how I ended up here and why I am estatic about returning home. Well, don't wonder any more! My name is Bella and I ended up here after our house was raided. I was taken by Master Zain's organisation. It wasn't only our house but every house on our block and I happens so that only a single child between the ages of 15-20 years old. I was seventeen so I was taken. My elder brother was in another country, completing his studies so he wasn't home when it all happened. I had a younger brother and sister, Adrian and Adriana, twins as their names imply and were only a year old so they got off the hook.

When I was brought to the organisation, I saw different kids that were taken from different countries too. We were told that we were brought here in order to train us for the sake of our country's safety but we soon came to realise that it was just a cover story to cover-up the fact that it was an organisation to train assassins or to how the children here called it, a Ninja organisation. We were put into training and that, made us know that that weak never survived, literally! Because once you are put against an opponent, it was a fight till the end which meant u either kill or get killed. Once the loser is killed, the child's family will receive a large amount of money with a letter of condolence attached and the child's body. That made me decide that I won't get killed in a place like this and one day, eventually, I'll be able to see my family again.

Ace was someone who never bothered to put effort into anything but shockingly, he still managed to pass the training sessions! We were in a class in which we were taught different postures best for fighting and different equipments used for each technique. He was sitting beside me and staring at the teacher with bored eyes like he can't wait to go back to his room and sleep.

" you will be punished if you don't take notes"

I tell him in a low tone. He looked at me and said

" I don't mind. Besides, it's better to die here anyway"

My eyes went wide as I stated at him. He looked about 18 or 19, I'm not sure, so his statement really surprised me. After that class, I followed him to the lunch room and sat beside him

" why are you following me?"

He asked with an irritated tone but that didn't bother me at all

" I don't know. I just felt like keeping you company. I'm Bella by the way"

He fell silent and ate. For the next couple of days, I was always sticking to his side like glue. I didn't know why I did that but maybe it could be because of how lifeless his eyes always looked. After about two weeks of following him like a pest, he began to talk to me bit by bit and I was glad about thos progress. It took half a year for him to completely open up to me and that was when I understood why his eyes were always lifeless.

Apparently, he came from a wealthy family in Europe and was the last child. He had three elder brothers and an elder sister, who passed away two years before he was taken. But that wasn't the point, the point was he had a different mother from his siblings and non of his brothers liked him. His father and stepmother were not exactly helpful because they were not particularly loving parents as they were victims of an arranged marriage so thay literally acted like divorced parents. His father got his biological mother pregnant while still a married man so his mother raised him alone to avoid breaking a peaceful family. But when his mother found out that she had cancer and won't last for long, she brought him to his father so that when she is dead, her son will have someone to depend on. His father had no choice but to take him in.

Ace always kept to himself but his brothers never let him be. Two weeks before he was taken by the organisation, his brothers hired an assassin to get rid of him as they knew their father will never abandon someone who had his blood flowing in his veins.

I could remember clearly, how I cried while he consoling me

" geez! Why are crying?! It was me who was nearly murdered, not you"

From that day on, Ace and I became close friends and eventually, partners. Everyone admired how we worked together and even gave us the name, the inseparable twins. Ace dyed his blonde hair white which suited him well while I dyed the tips of my dark brown hair, navy blue. Ace and I did practically everything together so Master Zain always assigned jobs for us together.

Even though we were taken away from our families, we were allowed to stay in touch. We were allowed to write and receive letters from them but our letters were always inspected so we could not reveal anything about the organisation to them. Adrian and Adriana were now seven and my elder brother, Neon, was now a successful business man. I told my family all about Ace and they absolutely love him. Well, I didn't tell them about his family though.

Every member that had stayed for up to four years were always dismissed but both Ace And I stayed for six good years because Master Zain wanted to keep us. But now, we will return home safe and undead. One more thing, Ace was two years older than me so I was right in guessing his age at the beginning right?
