Potterverse Reincarnation

James Hastings is a recent graduate of the cybersecurity and information systems Doctorate program at the Univerisity of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He's all set to start a promising career in the U.S. Cyber Command when Truck-kun attacks, and he is reborn on March 15, 1980, in the Harry Potter Universe. Thus begins the saga of a man trained in the arts of modern warfare by the most advanced military in the world trying to survive magic and the seeming incongruity of the Potterverse. *I do not own any of J.K. Rowling's characters, world, etc... I do, however, use it as a sandbox in which to play around. This story will be my take on the events of her world as influenced by my character. I will make adjustments to her characters and world. I have read a few of the books and watched most of the movies, but I am not an undying fanatic of this universe. I stopped reading the books because of the inability of the magic world to adapt to modern technology and methods. Why didn't the ministry employ enchanted firearms and highly trained special forces teams to take out Voldermort and his cronies? Why didn't Voldemort and other dark wizards learn and develop nuclear magics after WWII and the Cold-War? Why was magic so focused on traditional methods that didn't employ the scientific method? This story will delve into these questions and give you my take on a Potterverse that is, at times, darker and more magical than the one I remember from the books.
