The Intelligent Butler

Butler Alois was very quiet after leaving the house of the second young lord. He bore a calm look but he was the most amazed of all people in the courtyard. He clearly saw the second young lord was actually alive in flesh, and he did not have a slightest scar on him! His body looked even better than it was before he was stabbed.

Alois's face turned sour as he recalled the time when he reported the young lord that the maid who stabbed him was sentenced to death and the young master replied him that he should at least stabbed her with a knife ten times for every stab she made on him. His moustache twitched as he reimagined the sinister face the young master made at that time.

His heart felt heavy as he continued thinking. The cause was not because the sinister face the young lord made but something more important. The young lord said that he was saved by a light wizard and that wizard was asked by his grandfather, the former Duke Mustero.

Alois understood better than anyone that the young lord should have died with such wounds in the heart. The only thing that could save him in this world would be a high tier healing spell of a light wizard. Although there were a few light magicians in the royal palace, there was not a single light wizard in the whole kingdom.

Alois did not want to believe that the former duke, who had left everything behind and was living a quiet life in the countryside, would act for his grandson, who was not even the heir of the duchy. But the young lord did have a badge of the old duke on him which represented the former duke. He heard that the former duke never gave out his badge unless there was a very important matter. And the young lord said the wizard brought the badge with him!

The good-for-nothing young lord did not say much but Alois was a very smart person. He could think on his own what had happened.

"Even for the former duke, to get a light wizard's help, he must have to spend a large amount of time and money. Since the wizard was from another land, he would not want to be seen by anyone in a foreign kingdom so he just slipped into this lunatic's room. Being a mighty wizard, doing such would be a trivial matter for him!" He made up the story by connecting the dots of information.

"But what he found when he arrived was the dying lunatic with a hole in his heart and so he saved him from death. He must be a very-high-tier wizard to heal such deep wound. He even said that the young lord might awaken his Light Prowess in a few years but he did not cure his loss of memories. In fact, he told the him that he would return after three years to treat him again.

Although Light Prowess awakened people are rarer than black diamonds, he did not immediately take the Huvel as his disciple. That means he was not fully healed this time and he might even die after three years if the wizard does not come back!"

Alois did not want to accept everything the wasted second young lord said but the miracle that happened could not be explained otherwise. Before, he had already regarded the second young lord as a trash since he lost his memories and became a playboy. But if he were to become a disciple of a light wizard, that would change everything. In the world, wizards held the highest power and authority. If the young lord could become a wizard in the future, that would greatly increase the prestige and reputation of the Mustero Duchy.

As a calculating man, Alois tried to persuade the young master to not play with prostitutes anymore to keep his reputation. To his surprise, the young lord said he hated woman which must be caused by the maid that stabbed him. As such, he promised the young lord to send only male servants and to fill up his house with new furniture. He had done the ground work so he had to decide a new plan on how to deal with the second young lord.

Huvel jogged inside the courtyard every morning. The people who could not believe his return from death were finally convinced when they saw him well and kicking, with their own eyes. Huvel had gone through the training of knights under a knight of his father since he turned 12 until the incident happened so he could easily catch up to his former pace after a week. He chuckled as he remembered that when he had to do train, he threw a tantrum because Karl, a servant, was not allowed to train with him. Luckily, his knight mentor was kind enough to teach Karl together with him.

As for Karl, he ordered him to train with a mercenary group in the city in the morning. His intension was that through Karl, he wanted to have a connection to a mercenary since he could not believe in the soldiers of his father. He also wanted Karl to hone his body and swordsmanship so that he could protect himself against dangers. He also made him secretly spread the rumours of him wanting to leave the good-for-nothing young lord's side and join the mercenary in order not to be suspected by his enemies.

When he returned to his house, Huvel did not went back to his room and checked the guest room first. It was still early in the morning and Jose was still asleep on the bed. His sleeping posture was so weird that the blanket on him had fallen of the bed and the bathrobe on him also was not covering his tender body well. What caught Huvel's eyes was something black below his waist under the bathrobe.

Being curious, Huvel lifted the bathrobe and peeked underneath. When he saw the thing, an evil grin appeared on his face!
