Enchanting and some magic! 2/2

Noah wiped down his sweat with his left hand and started to lower the mana input. Gradually the bright orange glow on his index finger started weaken until his finger only glowed in a deep redish orange color.

"This should be hot enough!"

After Noah confirmed that he is not going to burn down his house with his finger. He started to approach the leather with his index finger. When his finger finally touched the leather it started to smoke a little. Noah's nose twitched a little because his enchanted senses he could smell the burnt leather an it wasn't a pleasant smell. He lifted his finger up hastly before he could burn through it by an accident.

"Not the best but it could be worse."

His finger left a black, burnt spot where he touched the surface of the leather. It was a little hard to see because the leather was black too but it was still noticeable.

'What sould I start with?'

'Hmm, I should start with something easy. The easiest would be a temperature changing rune. But I should avoid playing with high temperature before I could light something on fire! Then an temperature lowering rune it is.'

"Then, I should get started!"

Noah said with a visible excitement in his eyes. He leaned over the piece of leather and started to concentrate on the feeling of coldness. While picturing everything that came to his mind about cold like snow, ice or even dry ice. In his excitement he accidentally leaked his mana in his surrounding. And the temperature arround him started to drop. But Noah seemingly didn't notice or he just didn't care because it helped imagining the cold.

After he had a clear picture in his mind. He started to gather his mana in his still blazing finger. But with his control his finger didn't get hotter. He breathed in a bigh mouth full of air. And started move down his index finger until it touched the surface of the leather. And it immediately started to burn whit a bad smell.

But Noah was satisfied with this. So he started to move his blazing, mana infused finger across the surface of the leather. His moves were a little uncertain at first but after a while he got better. And before he could notice he was already done with his first rune in his life and it was certain it is not going to be the last.

"I have to buy a basic calligraphy guide or something from the system."

Noah couldn't help but mutter after seeing the badly drawn rune with crooked lines. But for his defense he never draw something on leather with his fingers before. And he was never a good drawer, not even mention the last month he went out of the practice.

But luckily in enchanting the runes weren't the most important things. So his enchanting still worked. He could feel his small control over his enchantment. He couldn't do much but he could still turn it on and off.

"I hope it works!"

Noah crossed his finger began to pray to evry god that came to his mind. And it seems one of the god out of the few dozens answered his prayer because the rune lit up with a faint blue light. And the the temperature started started to drop with a visible rate.

It stopped when the temperature is droped under freezing point. The vapor in the air started to condense and then freeze making things frosty in the room. And Noah's breath became visible, he looked like a dragon blowing smoke out of his mouth.

But Noha wasn't feeling the cold. No he was too excited to care. He watched the working rune for a while in amazement.

"Hahahaha!"

Noah started to madly laugh after he came out his momentary stupor. He was already seeing his future building magical spaceships and fighting with planet sized colossal beasts. After pushing away his stupid imagination or as others calling it the foreshadowing. His eyes wandered from the rune to the mug with magical water in it.

"I think I have a very stupid idea!"

Noah knew the thing he is about to do is probably very stupid, but he was too excited to care.

So he grabbed the mug and poured the content of it on the rune. The rune started to madly absorb the highly concentrated mana fro the water while glowing brigther and brigther. The temperature started to madly drop.

"Oh, shit!"

Noah new he meesed up. He felt a bone chilling cold, he started to shiver and his teeth started chatter. He tried to stop it with his connection. But the rune was out of control.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!"

Knowing what about to come. He had no time left to run. His last chance was to try to throw away the rune. But if he uses his hands there is a big chance he could never use them again because the enchanment was too cold.

His last option was to grab it with his magic and throw it. But he wasn't sure he has enough control to do it. But he had no time remaining so he just did it. And somehow maybe because of the life and death situation his control over his magic was perfect.

With the help of Noah's magic, the piece of leather with a brightly glowing rune on it that emitted bone chilling cold started to levitate. And flew toward the window on the wall with high speed. But it never left trough the window.

*Boom*

A big bang could be heard in the forest. The animals in the forres were alarmed because of the sound. Some monkey even fallen of the tree in fright. But the most stupefied one was Noah for sure.

Looking at the lomb of the tree trough the big hole that left behined after the explosion. He just realized how close he was to death. Cold sweet started to run down on his back. Even though he should be feeling warm after all the room started to warm up without the rune's cooling.

"I felt lately, my house a little small and the rune just started the expansion for me. Haha..ha...ha."

His laughing died down quickly. Noah stood up with trembeling legs. He stumbled through his house and went into his bedroom not even careing about the mess caused by the explosion. He felt into his bed.

"I almost killed myself today twice, I better sleep!"

So he did. Not caring about anything. Noah had his best sleep since he arrived to this world.
