Grandmother spoke for an hour. I listened carefully as she poured out her heart. She hated me and everyone heard her words. I was quiet. She was digging her grave without my help.
"Enough, granny" The Emperor stopped her. If he didn't, she would have continued to rant.
"But, you have not..." she was interrupted again.
"I said it is enough, granny. I don't want to hear anything from you" he warned. The Emperor stood up and said, "From what you said, you never ask the prince if the rumours about him were true."
"I thought of that, too" Mother spoke. She was surprised that grandmother paid attention to such gossip.
"Prince Edward is an adult. You should have asked him if he was having an affair with Marlena" The Emperor continued. "But you did not, granny. You should have come to me without making this matter public. But you did not. What are you trying to do?"
