Facilites etc. for Omegas

There are historically many crimes done against Omegas in addition to the discrimination towards unmated Omegas. Over the centuries, different facilities and accessories, even special law has been developed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of this second gender.

Important facilities include Omega House where Omegas can seek refuge from abuse and spend their heat in case of emergency, and learn about Omegas. Alphas are not allowed in Omega Houses to ensure the safety the Omegas especially during their heats. There should be at least one House in every city so travelling Omegas can have somewhere to temporarily go in case of emergency. Security system in these facilities are extremely high.

Other similar facility is Welfare Centers in universities which allows Omega students living in dormitories to spend their heat with their mates. These centers are initially designed in consideration of students without their own accommodation not having enough money to spend the week-long heat in hotels, and usually only allows mated pairs. Over the decades, unmated couples are allowed to use the facilities as well as long as it is for their heat. Similar to Omega Houses, security is very tight and students are required to show their student IDs to prevent outsider from taking advantage of the facility.

Omegas are required to go to Omega School once they present. This is due to their instable hormones which may cause them to get their heat randomly even during school hour. To prevent young Alphas to react and hurt the new Omegas, the two are separated until the latter come of age, which is universally agreed to be around 17-19 years old. In addition, the separation is particularly important for male omegas as they are susceptible to extreme bullying and violence due to the sudden change in the traditional 'gender role'. Hence the moment Omegas present until they graduate high school, they will go to a special school where in addition to normal syllabus, learn about Omega/Alpha traits. On the other hand, Alphas need to attend additional classes to learn about the same thing and pass the special exams to graduate.

Omegas are advised to wear their neck protector to prevent forced-mating, especially during their heat. The protector locks itself during heat 'waves' so the Omegas with no intention of mating will not be emotionally persuaded during their most vulnerable time and taken advantage of. Due to this advice, the law will most likely side with Omegas wearing these protectors in case claims of forced-mating are made.

In terms of special transportations, Beta Taxis were developed to allow Omegas to safely ride in a taxi during their heat. These taxis are specially labeled and is only driven by Betas which are not affected by pheromones. The taxis can also accommodate other secondary genders.
