Chris POV:

Chris didn’t like this idea.

The thought of having to reach out to another pack, lay himself at the mercy of some other alpha rattled his bones.

He’d only been an Alpha for a short while, but the way the power ran through his veins guided his decisions more than he expected it to.

He felt a strange new responsibility and dignity. He felt the strength that his inner wolf gained from the new position, and with that position came pride.

He didn’t want to grovel to someone else, especially not the Sweetwater pack.

Though Chris knew of the sweetwater pack, the pack where Jacob hailed from, and knew how long the two packs had relied on each other, it still felt wrong to have to rely on them in this way. His inner wolf didn’t want to take charity from this pack, to be indebted to them for such a large favor.
