(Cassandra's POV)
"Mom, are you sure that you'll be okay? I don't mind skipping today."
I'm worried about her and with good reason.
After Matthew dropped me off yesterday, I had gone up to her room to check up on her but the door was locked and she ignored my pleas, that's if she was in the room. I never know with her. Secrecy and all.
I hadn't seen her since yesterday morning and this morning, she came downstairs, looking as if Sunday evening never happened but I can see the profound sadness in her eyes.
She's trying to hide it behind her fake smiles but I'm no fool.
"Oh dear Cassie, when did you become such a worrywart? I said I was fine and I am. Come on, you'll be late for school if you don't leave now." She takes her empty plate to the kitchen and I follow with my own.
"Please stop keeping things from me. I'm begging you."
If she keeps this up, I'll soon start sobbing my eyes out. Maybe that will get her attention.
