There was some sort of awkward silence in the car, and when Alex couldn't stand it any longer, he pulled the car to a stop beside the road, and immediately Vanessa's head snapped up as she wondered if they had gotten home.
She swallowed when she realized he had parked the car by the roadside and looked at him, "What are you doing? We are not home yet," she pointed out in a quiet voice without meeting his gaze as she looked away from him once again.
How could she meet his gaze when she was feeling so mortified by her action? She had avoided him these past couple of days and had even been harsh to him for kissing her, yet she had grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him back tonight as though her life depended on it. She had kissed him back when she had been the same person who told him to keep his hands to himself.
"We should talk, don't you think?" Alex asked, and she swallowed some more.
