Chapter 16: The audition.

This was a game of revenge and they needed to play to win.

Mariam had a few friends in Thompson's Group, She quickly sent Alena's fake profile to one of the employees applying for the auditioning.

It was after two days when Alëna went to Thompson's Group Company. She already had the fancy clothes, bags, jewelry and shoes that Mariam had shopped for her.

She wore little makeup and put on a pink suit made of a short skirt and a semi coat. She wore white stilettos that matched her white shoulder bag and the white shirt she tucked well into th short high weight skirt.

Alëna stepped out of the elevator and onto the sleek, modern floor of Thompson's Group. She took a deep breath, smoothing out her skirt and running a hand through her hair. She was ready for this.

As she made her way to the reception desk, she couldn't help but notice the bustling atmosphere. People of all ages and backgrounds were milling about, chatting nervously or scrolling through their phones. Alëna's eyes scanned the room, taking in the Thompson's Group logo emblazoned on the wall.

"Hi there!" A bright, cheerful voice greeted Alëna as she approached the reception desk. "Welcome to Thompson's Group. Are you here for the ambassador audition?"

Alëna smiled, confident and poised. "Yes, I am. I'm Alëna Vexar."

The receptionist's eyes lit up as she checked Alëna's name off the list. "Great! You're right on time. Let me just check a few things...Okay, you're all set. The audition will be held in Conference Room A, just down that hallway." She gestured to a nearby corridor. "Good luck, Alëna!"

Alëna smiled her thanks and made her way down the hallway to Conference Room A. As she entered the room, she was immediately struck by the sleek, modern decor and the large, wooden conference table that dominated the space.

At the head of the table, a panel of three judges sat, each with a notepad and pen in front of them. They introduced themselves as Emily, the Marketing Director; Rachel, the Public Relations Manager; and James, the Talent Acquisition Specialist.

Alëna's eyes scanned the room, taking in the camera and the small audience seated at the back. She took a deep breath, composing herself as she made her way to the empty chair at the far end of the table.

"Good morning, Alëna," Emily said, smiling warmly. "Welcome to the audition. We'll be asking you a few questions, and then we'll have you participate in a short scenario. Are you ready to begin?"

Here's the continuation of the scene:

Alëna nodded confidently, her smile unwavering. "Yes, I'm ready. Thank you for having me."

Emily nodded, glancing down at her notes. "Let's get started, then. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and why you're interested in becoming the new ambassador for Thompson's Group?"

Alëna launched into a well-rehearsed speech, highlighting her relevant experience, her passion for the company's mission, and her excellent communication skills. The judges listened intently, their expressions thoughtful and engaged.

As Alëna finished speaking, Rachel spoke up, her voice friendly but probing. "That's great, Alëna. Can you tell us about a time when you had to think on your feet and handle a difficult situation?"

Alëna's smile never wavered as she launched into a story about a challenging experience she had in her previous role. She spoke confidently and convincingly, using specific examples and anecdotes to illustrate her points.

The judges nodded and took notes, their expressions impressed. Alëna could tell she was making a good impression, and she felt a surge of confidence and determination. She was going to nail this audition, no matter what it took.

As the interview drew to a close, Emily glanced down at Alëna's profile, her eyes scanning the page. Suddenly, her expression turned curious.

"Alëna, can I ask you something?" Emily said, looking up at her.

Alëna nodded, her smile unwavering. "Of course."

Emily's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I couldn't help but notice that you come from a wealthy family. Your father is a well-known businessman, and your family has a significant amount of wealth."

Alëna nodded, her expression composed. "Yes, that's correct."

Emily leaned forward, her voice taking on a slightly probing tone. "So, I have to ask...why do you want to work for Thompson's Group? You don't need the money, and you could easily pursue a life of leisure."

Alëna's smile never wavered, but her eyes flashed with a hint of determination. "I understand what you're asking, Emily. But for me, it's not just about the money. It's about making a difference, pursuing my passions, and building a career that's mine, not just something handed to me because of my family's wealth."

Emily's expression turned thoughtful, her eyes narrowing as she considered Alëna's response. After a moment, she nodded, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Thank you, Alëna. That's a great answer."

Alëna's smile remained plastered on her face as she stood up to leave, but her inner voice was a different story.

"Yes, I nailed it," her inner voice said with a sigh. "I answered all their questions perfectly, and they seemed to buy it hook, line, and sinker."

But as she turned to leave, her inner voice couldn't help but add a caveat.

"Of course, it's all a lie. The profile Mariam created for me is completely fake. If they ever find out, I'm done for."

Alëna's heart skipped a beat as she pushed the thought aside. She couldn't afford to think about that now. She had to stay focused on the task at hand.

She turned to the judges, who were all smiling and nodding at her. "Thank you so much for the opportunity to audition today. I really appreciate it."

Emily stood up, extending her hand. "Thank you, Alëna. We'll be in touch soon to let you know our decision."

Alëna shook her hand, her smile still plastered on her face. But as she turned to leave, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was playing with fire.
