The bluest of stars

Blue.

Blue is the color of many things; The bright blue sky, the dark stormy sea, and glistening gems such as sapphire.

Blue has always been my favorite color even though most people say girls are supposed to like pink. I hate pink. I don't really have any good reason to hate pink, i just do. Up until i was old enough to choose what i wore, my mother plastered me in pink and dresses with frills.The first outfit i ever chose for myself was a plain blue tee and black shorts just like my brother. Since then i have had to wear dresses, but i was able to choose less frilly and pink ones. A small sense of freedom but freedom none the less.Now days the only freedom i get is from my brother. Around him i don't have to pretend to be someone i'm not. No please and thank you, no curtsies, and No pink frilly dresses, or dresses at all for that matter. I can just be myself. Just plain old stubborn Melody, who tends to get in trouble. Noah's the only one that truly loves me for me.

Unlike Noah, my parents are rather strict. My father is CEO of star industries, the family business that will one day belong to my brother, is a very important business leader therefore both of his children must be polite and well mannered. I got pretty lucky, i can pretty much get away with not knowing every bit of etiquette, unlike my brother who has to attend dad's business meetings and weekly business diners. Although i would learn every bit of etiquette if it meant that father would teach me coding and business just as he does with my brother. Instead my brother taught me about business and code. Anything he learned he would share with me, and anything i learned i would share with him. We where inseparable, two peas in a pod. I love my brother and he loves me.
