chapter 1: so this is what they call struggle

"This family does not accept trash!!" A young man said sneering at the youth laying infront of him.

His name Eli And the one towering over him was Eric the son of the patriarch. Eli was a good for nothing that relied on his father's position in the family. Now that his father died, Eric whom had always hated him more than anyone else in the family kicked him out. His father's servants and friends looked the otherway even though they had been helped by his father time and time again.

After getting beat up by Eric he laid by the gate for 3 days crying. Not for being kicked out but for his deceased father, this was not him only crying for his father it was him paying his respect to him. Eric and a few young masters from the family would beat him up whilst he was doing nothing but laying down grieving.

On the fourth day he stood up and staggered towards the gates of the city. To him the sky family and the city were nothing anymore. He wasn't bound by anything, the only problem tho is that the road outside the city was filled with strong magical beasts. On the other hand he who grew up pampered had no combat experience nor any spells.

Eli traveled for 2 days and didn't encounter any magical beast it seemed like mother luck was smiling at him. He had been living off fruits and snails although they were disgusting he had no choice.

"Those legendary warriors could travel the world with one single step but i've walked for 2 days straight but i haven't seen a single city" Eli was sick of the journey and wanted to cry. But he wouldn't stop, no he wanted to join a guild and reach the level of Gods. Not to live forever but for fame and money. To have the strength to dictate his own life.

...

On a dusty road a dirty young man who looked like a beggar could be seen staggering but yet his eyes were firm. Suddenly a smile crept up his mouth "a city, finally" tears were streaming down his cheeks. Finally after 3 days of walking, he saw a city.

After walking in the gates of the city the guards didn't bother looking at him. There were too many people like him so they treated him like air.

"Hey do you know any guild registration centres here? " Eli asked a hawker who seemed busy with his skewers

"Hey if you aren't buying don't stand infront of my spot." The hawker scolded with a twisted expression

"Please tell me and i won't bother you anymore sir" Eli's expression was gentle and so was his voice.

The mans fierce expression faded, how could he continue being rude to such a gentle man. He lifted his head up but his expression turned fierce once again. "What is a dirty beggar doing infront of me? Are you trying to frame me? Who sent you?"

"Whatever do you mean..." Eli's face turned weird but the hawker cut him off.

"If you stand infront of my spot people will think I'm untidy and I attract beggars. Who'd want that? You're ruining my image, leave before I hit you!" The hawker was fierce with his words and didn't hold back at all.

" The flaming wing guild is on the left of the fifth block" a feminine voice replied to Eli's question. He couldn't help but look at the female who just spoke. She wasn't a beauty but her face was pleasing to look at.

"Thanks!" Eli said and hurriedly left.

'Haha flaming wing here I come'. Although it wasn't his dream guild it was still a great start.

He arrived at the fifth block and took a left, right at the corner stood a handsomely decorated hall. He knocked on the door and a soothing male voice answered "come in"

Eli pushed the door and walked inside and saw a smiling male clerk. There were a few people inside chatting but it turned silent as soon as he went in. Even the clerk's smile faded "are you here to sign in?" The clerks voice wasn't friendly at all.

Eli nodded.

The clerk looked at the documents in his hand and answered without looking at him "The monthly criteria has been filled.".

A young man walked in and looked at Eli frowning and then turned his gaze to the clerk.

"I'm here to sign in"

"Name?"

The clerks voice became welcoming.

Eli frowned and replied

"Didn't you say that the monthly criteria was filled "

The clerk looked at him

"Listen here you dirty waste of space, where do you think this is?".,

Eli felt dizzy when he looked at the clerk, a crazy amount of killing intent surged into him "leave or forfeit your life "

Eli didn't say anything and just staggered out with a horrid expression. The clerk was really going to kill him.

Eli continued looking for more guilds but none of them accepted him. Some kindly rejected him whilst some threatened him.

He had plans laid infront of him but it seemed they were near impossible to execute. His dream and desires were trampled on . He had lost all hope.

Perhaps if he went to another town? It was already night now and he wanted to leave early so he headed towards the gates right after that scorching heat hit him.

Was someone trying to fry him alive? His expression turned indignant, if he died here he wouldn't have the balls to show himself infront of his old man. It was then that Eli realised that it had suddenly become bright and when he lifted his head a huge fireball hung in the air. It seemed to be heading towards the city. He didn't ask anything but started running. However the heat was too much and he fainted right outside the city.
