Education is a Power Tool

Education is a fundamental human right and essential for the exercise of any other human rights. It promotes individual freedom and empowerment and yields important development benefits, yet millions of children and adults remain deprived of educational opportunities, usually as a result of poverty. Education is a powerful tool by which economically and socially marginalised adults and children can lift themselves out of poverty and participate fully as citizens. Imagine a world without schools and colleges! No matter how much we hate waking up early for school or studying all night for those tests and exams, an educated person gets better opportunities in life. It is easier for a person to become successful and realise his/her dreams as compared to someone who is uneducated. Education is extremely important because you overcome superstitions. Superstitions are baseless, useless, and may affect your life negatively. Illiterate and uneducated people tend to hold certain superstitious beliefs. Education and awareness are the best ways to combat superstitions and replace such beliefs with reason and logic. Education also helps with keeping up with the world because we live in an ever changing world. New technologies keep coming up, and if you don’t want to be left behind, you must keep up with the world, which is moving really fast. Without education, it will be really difficult for you to adapt to all these changes. An uneducated person is much more aware of the latest technologies and all the changes that are taking place in the world. For example, an uneducated person may not know about the benefits of the internet, whereas an educated person uses this gift of technology regularly for work as well as for entertainment. Education helps with healthcare because illiteracy often breeds ignorance, and this ignorance may prove to be dangerous when it comes to healthcare. Educated people know more about preventive methods which protect them from a number of diseases. An illiterate and ignorant person is likely to ignore the symptoms and avoid seeking medical aid unless the problem becomes very serious. Hence, education enables you to take better care of yourself as well as your family. We need education because we gain wisdom and understanding of the world we live in, and it help us gain respect because the more educated you are, the more respect you will gain from those around you. So, education is what we need if we want an answer to our “what’s”, “how’s”, and “where’s”. You get to understand and know more about your surroundings. Education makes the world a safer and more peaceful place because it majorly affects our common understanding of the difference between right and wrong

Brothers of Darkness

Joleene Naylor is the author of the glitter-less Amaranthine vampire universe, a world where vampires aren't for children. Comprised of a main series, a standalone prequel, and several short story collections, she has plans to continue expanding with a trilogy and standalone novels. In her spare time, Joleene is a freelance book cover designer and for-fun photographer. She maintains several blogs, full of odd ramblings, and occasionally updates her website at JoleeneNaylor.com. In what little time is left, she watches anime, plays PokemonGo, and works on her crooked Victorian house in Villisca, Iowa. Between her husband, family, and pets, she is never lonely, in fact, quite the opposite. Should she disappear, one might look for her on a beach in Tahiti, sipping a tropical drink and wearing a disguise. The prequel to the Amaranthine series tells the story of Patrick and Michael, how they got tangled into Claudius' web, and their valiant fight to escape. When Patrick's missing brother returns, he brings a world of darkness. Turned into a vampire against his will, Michael is the coven's whipping boy. When Patrick tries to help, he's claimed as a slave who spends his weekends preparing victims, scooping ashes, and falling prey to the vampires' twisted desires. There's only so much hell he can take. When vampires from a warring coven offer sanctuary in exchange for cooperation, Patrick agrees. What he thought would be a few months drags into a long smear of nightmares and, though he fights for hope and freedom, the cost of victory may be more than he bargained for.
