Hospitalized Again

"Oh God!! I am so exhausted." Adrian managed to utter as he fell on his bed like a lifeless body.

"So you finally decided to come back. I thought you were planning on babysitting that spider creep." Ryan mocked  while doing his daily evening push ups.

"I don't have the time to reply you now. You over grown baby."

"What did you just say?? Did you just call me a baby?? What would people say when they find out a baby broke your neck."

"What would it take to get some peace and quiet in this room." Alexis roared, cutting the squabble short.

" We should be thinking of the up coming school contest where a class would be selected out of the four first year classes, I mean don't you guys want to represent the school at the imperial tournament?" He continued.

" What is there to worry about, you have me and lightning boy. We will win for sure. What truly bothers me is this sack of potatoes that couldn't even get a weapon. Aside from that we have nothing to worry about." Ryan boasted.

"Hey Adrian, what do you planning on doing with your inability to assimilate a weapon??" Alexis asked.

The only reply he got was a snore from the sleeping Adrian.

The next day was a weekend, as a result there were no classes scheduled for the day. Many students hanged out with their mates while others trained. Adrian carried on with his usual I don't care attitude walking around the male dorms aimlessly, until he wondered into

"Hey you!!! Come here." A male student ordered.

Adrian carefully looked at the class tag on his shirt and noticed it had the inscription [1-C].

"What does this loser want now, I hope he doesn't pick on me."Adrian thought.

" Your from 1-D right? You know your not supposed to be here, this is class 1-C's space. Aren't you the famous candle maker." The student said in mocking manner, sparking a series of laughter from other  class 1-C male students.

" Well  if you had actually studied rather than buy yourself a spot in this school, you would have know that candle lighter is a better term. Numb skull." Adrian replied, causing mumbled laughter from observing students.

"Your going to die for saying that." The class 1-C student raised his hands and got into a fighting stance.

*Boom*

The force behind his punch kicked up the dust as it traveled to Adrian's face at a quick pace. Adrian simply countered his attack by grabbing the fist and body slamming to the floor.

"Arrrgh!!!" The student screamed in frustration as he charged at Adrian again. This time he let out a counter clockwise kick aiming for Adrian's waist. Adrian sent a kick of his which nullified the attack, creating a cracking sound in the process.

"Woah!! Candle maker is beating up Ted." The other students around seemed to be amazed at Adrian's fighting capability and their comments appeared to be hurting their classmate.

[Wind style: Wind blade]

Two almost invisible fast moving  air currents struck Adrian, sending him a few meters in the air before he crashed on the floor.

*Beep*

*Beep*

Ted's wristwatch rang continuously. Adrian on the other hand had two deep cuts on his with blood gushing out of both wounds.

Suddenly two men in pitch black uniform appeared from thin air, grabbing Ted by the arm.

"You have breached a school regulation by using your ability without proper authorization." One of the men in Black said before disappearing into thin air with Ted, the other man picked Adrian from the floor and followed suit.

"That was the disciplinary committee. Those guys are in serious trouble." One observing student whispered to one of his colleague.

...

"Arggh!! My head hurts." Adrian managed to say as he regained consciousness.

"Your finally awake Mr Kane." Mr Leo said from the corner where he sat.

" I'll go call a nurse."

It didn't take too long for Mr Leo to return to Adrian's ward with nurse Joan.

"It seems you have a knack for getting beat up." Nurse Joan said as her palms  and eyes began to glow green.

She then placed both palms on his head relieving him of whatever residual pain he felt.

"What day of the week is it ?"

"It's a Monday." She replied.

"I've been unconscious for two days!!!"

"Mr Kane don't be late to my class." Mr Leo said before walking out of the ward.

"So tell me what kind of trouble did you get yourself into this time." Nurse Joan asked.

"It's nothing serious. I just need to get Mr Leo's class on time." Adrian said while disconnecting himself from the heartbeat monitor.

"Good bye Nurse Joan." He said as he attempted to leave.

He exiting was put on hold when a hand grabbed him from behind.

"Whatever you do just be careful Adrian." Nurse Joan said before letting him go. Adrian did not turn or reply her. Instead, he opened the door and walked away with a heartfelt smile on his face.

"It's been a while since someone actually cared about my well-being." He thought to himself.
