The 100 : The duty of a leader

(Slow Pace) When he died, Leon wouldn't have imagined that he would have a second chance. A new world, a new life, stripped of memories of the past ,remembering only what he loved and nothing more, armed with nothing other than his guts and body , how will Leon survive in this world torn by nuclear war and ruled by primitive civilizations ? Note : I don't own The 100 or any other characters that may resemble in any kind of way any characters form various shows and games. If I were to say that I own something, that would be my idea of changing a world, but that's what fanfiction is ain't it?

Post Praimfaya Chapter 14

I quickly made my way towards the place where I heard one of the prisoners and when I reach it, my heart was racing as I watched Clarke look back in fear at the man before she grabbed Madi's hand. I had to act fast to protect them and get us out of this situation.

As the man stepped closer, Clarke pushed Madi behind her and stood in front of her protectively. I could see the fear in Madi's eyes, and it broke my heart. We had promised Madi that we would always be there for her, and I intended to keep that promise too.

"What do you want?" Clarke asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

The man laughed, a cruel sound that sent shivers down my spine. "What do we want? We want you, of course. You and the girl."

My mind raced as I tried to think of a way out of this. We were outnumbered, and I didn't want to put them in danger. I had to come up with a plan, and fast. Suddenly, a wave of calmness washed over me before I went into action.

A second later, I was behind the man, my gun aimed at his back.

"Step away from them."

The man hesitated for a moment before he backed away, his hands in the air. Clarke could see the fear in his eyes now, and it gave her a small sense of satisfaction. Not wanting to risk anything I hit the man in the back of his head as hard as I could knocking him to the ground before I turned to face Clarke and Madi.

"Come on," I motioned for Clarke and Madi to follow me. "We need to get out of here."

Clarke nodded, still holding onto Madi's hand tightly. She was happy that I came just in time, otherwise, she couldn't think what might have happened to them, but she knew that we were still in danger and with the prisoners after us, we had to keep moving, and more importantly to keep our Madi safe.

As we ran through the forest, Clarke couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over her. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but she knew that we couldn't let our guard down. Not even for a moment. Not with those people after us, after her Madi.

"We need to find a safe place, Leon. Somewhere where we can regroup and figure out what to do next."

I could only nod in agreement. Clarke could see the worry in my eyes, as I was actually scared, scared that I might lose them. We kept running, our footsteps echoing in the silence of the forest. I couldn't shake off the feeling of being followed like eyes were constantly watching us from the shadows. The only sound was the rustling of leaves and twigs snapping under our feet.

After what seemed like hours of running, we finally came across my project, an outpost of sorts, though I didn't manage to finish it. It was in terrible condition, but it was the only shelter we had other than the caves, which by now are most likely under the prisoners' surveillance. We cautiously entered the cabin, checking to see if the prisoners made it here but thankfully for all of us, it was empty.

Clarke sat down on the floor, her back against the wall, with Madi sitting beside her. They were both exhausted, and I could see the fear still lingering in their eyes. I couldn't blame them; the situation we were in was anything but good.

I took out my gun and checked the bullets. We couldn't let our guard down even for a moment. The prisoners were after us, and we needed to be prepared for anything. Especially since they seem to have better guns than we have or had in this case.

I looked outside the window and saw the sun setting. We didn't have much time to rest, and we had to come up with a plan soon.

"We need to figure out what to do next. We can't stay here for long. It's not safe."

Clarke nodded in agreement, looking at me with concern. "What do you suggest we do?"

"We need to find a way to get out of the forest and find help. But we have to be careful. The prisoners are still out there, and we don't know how many there are or what guns they have."

Madi looked up at me, her eyes wide with fear. "What if they find us?"

I knelt down beside her and put my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Madi. We'll protect you no matter what."

Clarke stood up and started pacing back and forth. "But where do we even go? There's nothing for miles and with their ship they would easily find us in the wasteland."

I thought for a moment before an idea came to mind. "We could try to lead them into a wild chase, while in reality you two will go deeper into the forest, towards the raptors' territory, and hide there. I doubt they would risk checking that place."

Clarke raised an eyebrow at me. "And what about you? Are you just going to sacrifice yourself for us?"

I shook my head. "No, I'll be right behind you. I just need to create a diversion so that they don't follow you. But we need to make it convincing, and that's where you come in."

Madi looked at us, still unsure. "What do you mean?"

I smiled at her. "We're going to make it look like we're running in the opposite direction, but then we'll double back and follow you. That way, they'll think they're still chasing us while we're actually getting further away."

Clarke nodded slowly, a look of understanding on her face, despite not liking even one bit what I suggest we do. But she know that we didn't have all that many choices.

"Okay, but we'll need to make it look real. We can't just pretend to run and then turn around."

I nodded in agreement. "I know. That's why I'll fire a couple of shots in the opposite direction. It'll make it seem like we're running away in fear."

Madi bit her lip nervously. "But what if they catch you?"

I patted her head gently. "Don't worry, Madi. I've dealt with worse situations than this. I'll be fine."

Clarke sighed. "Okay, let's do this. But we need to move quickly before they catch up with us."

We quickly made our way through the forest, with Clarke and Madi staying close to me as we ran. When we reached a clearing, I turned to face them.

"Remember, when I fire the shots, run in the opposite direction. I'll catch up with you as soon as I can."

Clarke nodded, her hand tightening around Madi's. "Be careful, Leon."

I knew that leading the prisoners into the raptor territory was a risky move, but it was our only chance to get away from them. I fought the raptors before, on multiple occasions, and I knew better than anyone did just how fast and deadly they were. If we could just get the prisoners to follow us, we could lead them straight into the raptor's domain and let nature take its course.

Right on point, a rather decently sized group of prisoners saw me and I could feel my heart racing. A second later, I turned around and fired a couple of shots in their direction before quickly turning back and running toward the raptors' territory. I knew that I had to keep running, that if I stopped even for a moment, they might take a shot and while my body was stronger than anyone, not even I could take a few bullets to the chest or one to the head and survive.

As I ran deeper into the forest, I could hear the sounds of the raptors in the distance. It was a sound that sent shivers down my spine, but I knew that we had to keep going. We had to lure the prisoners into the raptor's territory and hope that they would be distracted long enough for us to escape.

Finally, I saw the entrance to the raptor's territory. It was a dense, overgrown area we didn't walk into at all in the last five years, fearing what might be there. I turned around and fired a few more shots in their direction, trying to keep them focused on me and not on their surroundings, I even threw a few insults here and there to make them chase me deeper into danger territory.

"Come on, you cowards! You want us? Come and get us!"

The prisoners took the bait. As they entered the dense vegetation, I could hear the raptors closing in. Their piercing screams filled the air, and I knew that they were getting closer.

I turned and ran as fast as I could, praying that Clarke and Madi were safe. I could hear the prisoners screaming in terror as the raptors closed in on them, but I didn't dare look back, but I knew that the raptors would take care of them.

After running for a while, I finally saw Clarke and Madi waiting for me. They looked relieved to see me, and to be honest so am I. We had narrowly escaped, but we knew that the danger was still out there.

"We need to keep moving," I said, catching my breath. "We can't stay here. Not with the prisoners still out there."
