Chapter Death

"Finally beat the boss!" Austin shouted. It had taken 7 months but he finally beat the first boss. He couldn't help but want to cry when he remembered the beginning stages.

His character at the start was so weak he would get one shoted from a simple breeze. It was literally life or death fighting slimes. After months and months of grinding he had ultimately gotten to the point where his character could defeat the first boss. Yes the first boss. Even after 7 months of grinding he had only beaten the first boss.

Anyone would normally stop playing this game at this point but Austin was a little different. He felt that as he played the more it was getting. He had originally bought this bootleg rpg because he was bored and also because it was cheap. To his surprise it was a difficult but fun game to play.

He still didn't understand what the storyline was though. All he knew was that he was an awakened and that he had to defeat monsters to get stronger. At the start of the game his stats were like this.

After grinding for months they went up to this.

His character stats finally looked impressive. He leaned back on his chair while looking at the message on the screen.

"Huh?"

[You have defeated the First Boss Would you like to go to the next stage <Yes> <No>]

"Oh shit, hell yeah time to move to the next location!" Austin shouted. His hands moved towards his mouse but before he could click accept.

"Ugh!"

He suddenly felt a strong pain surge through his body. His arms started to shake, his breathing became heavier, his heart started to beat even faster. Until beeeeeep... he collapsed on the floor. His heart stopped beating. In his computer screen one last message showed up.

[It has been taken as you saying yes moving to new stage.]
