Ch.10 To the Almarion we go!

With all our belongings in Item box, me and Mika headed to the landing point. We were supposed to follow miss Aika and head to Almarion with her to meet with her father, the current head of the El Mayleen family.

"Are you two ready?" Aika asked us with happy smile.

"We are but... what's with that get up?" I asked, seeing Aika in white summer dress.

"Well, I'm officially off duty since yesterday. It's just that those idiots in Almarion feed the wyvern wrong food and almost killed him," Aika pouted as she carressed the wyverns beak.

After that, I came little closer and looked at the wyvern from upclose. It was fascinating to me that such a powerful monster was following a human without even needing to be under contract of Tamer crest.

I patted the wyvern and it let out a cute squeek. "C'mon guys! Look at his beak! Do you know how much you can learn just from the color of wyverns beak?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, this gray color has little yellow shine to it even in cloudy weather! That means that this little is fully grown on mixture of soft food and bones. My guess is Tarou bird and Alpen fruits?"

"You sure know your stuff," the caretaker smiled. "But I've also added Mairoon berries and Chakar tree leaves which gives him enough power to make a round trip around the kingdom without breaking a sweat!"

"I see, I never thought about using Chakar tree leaves as energizer food, but aren't they poisonous?"

"This is only subspecies of wyverns, the Ground furred wyverns, that can eat them, they have poison imunity skill as their racial trait," the caretaker explained to me.

"Oh, and I thought they could only use earth magic..."

"Hey..."

"Please give up miss Aika, when he get's in this state nothing can stop him," Mika placed her hand on Aika's shoulder and made her enter the gondola, the wyvern carried here.

As I was discusting the wyvern diet with the caretaker, I realized that sun moved quite a lot and while apologizing I boarded the gondola.

My only luck was that the wyvern get to rest longer so it could fly a little faster now.

"I'm terribly sorry miss Aika, I've got too absorbed in the wyvern diet that I lost sence of time."

"It's fine, it's fine. But could you tell me why you were so interested in that? I don't think you have a wyvern serving you correct?"

"It's true that right now I do not have a wyvern serving me."

"Right now?" Aika tilted her head.

"One of my summons can evolve into wyvern," I confessed. 'Although, some can evolve into real dragons, but I'm not lying Before turning into dragons they have to become wyverns.'

"But that would be amazing!" Aika's eyes sparkled as she grasped both of my hands. "That would mean you can summon an A rank, if not S rank monsters!"

"Well, it's deffinitely a possibility," I tried to get free as I started to feel Mika's chilling gaze.

I looked out of the window, I saw the almost unending forest and somewhere in the distance was a clearing with a small city.

"That city is Centurion, a guard station that dispatched my replacement. It usually takes a whole day to get there with carriage," Aika said as she noticed where my gaze was aiming.

'If I remember correctly, Baron's family is from this city,' I remembered some unpleasing faces from half a year ago when I visited this place with my former party members.

We flew over the city and soon we get to see a grass fields that were spreading behind the forest.

"Did the forest already overgrew this much?" Mika asked.

"Everything past Centurion grew in last six years. We had a lot of troubles with treants and their evolved species, Elder treants. Also, we had to call for Royal wyvern knights to stop the spreading of the woods."

I remembered faintly that there were quests asking for treant wood for little sums of money. Being the reward at least a little higher, maybe we would've took them as Lotus, but Baron said that it was unnecessary and that out expanditure would be higher then gains.

"I see, too many bad things happened here at once right?"

"So you've heard about it..." Aika's shoulders slummered.

"Huh? Am I missing something?"

"Mika, did you ever heard about the Princess of Demise?"

"Of course I did, the second princess of this kingdom have Crest of Absolute authority. When she was sixteen she tried to elliminate all her siblings to make sure she was the only one who could inherit the throne, but what does that have to do with this?"

"It was six years ago, when she used power of her crest to eliminate the first prince and all of his supporters in single attack."

"You don't mean..."

"She used her crest to kidnap the prince and the most influential people who were supporting him and had them sacrificed in certain ritual. The exact context is classified but apparently she summoned a high ranked demonic being."

"You are quite knowledgeble for a commoner, sir Flake," Aika eyed me.

"Well, all information I have about this came from a certain person from Lotus," I said and placed one finger over my eye.

"You mean... the one eyed bastard?!" Aika almost jumped out of her seat.

"One eyed bastard?"

"I'm talking about Furnis, he's a bastard of the family that was supporting the first prince."

"Wait, Flake, how do you know that? I don't think anyone from Lotus would give you such a valuable informations," Mika turned to me.

"Well, he was quite weak to alcohol and when he got too drunk, he started to blaber. And he usually used me as a seat while he did."

"I'll kill that bastard," Mika's bloodlust shot through the upper limits.

"Well, be it as it may, I got a lot of information from him about the inner workings of noble society," I shrugged, "Also it helped to get Lucille and Lucas of my back."

"Guys, you can see it now!" Aika said with beaming smile, "The Almarion dungeon city."

The city was perfect sqare shape with stright lines of streets going in 8 directions from the centre of the city, where the dungeon was located. The dungeon was guarded by circle shaped building which also served as a guild.

"We will land in the knight district, a carriage is waiting for us there to take us to my father. I've already noticed him about your visit."

Even though I learned a lot about the noble society, this was my first time actually meeting a head of a family. No need to say how nervous I am.

We stepped out of the gondola and as we were about to step into the carriage something lifted me.

"Uwah! What is it?!" the one who suprised me so much was the wyvern who carried us here.

"What is it big guy?" I asked as it placed me on ground before itself.

The wyvern looked into my eye and scrached it's neck. In the next moment one scale from it's upper half which was covered with them fell to my legs.

"You... want me to have this?" I asked and the wyvern let out confirming squeek and licked my face.

"Thanks! I will treasure it!" I smiled and patted the wyvern on it's chin, which he enjoyed so much it started beating it's tail against the stone paved floor.

No need to say that there was a dent in the pavement becouse of it and the knights went into uproar.

But, in the meantime I boarded the carriage and head to the house of the lord of the city.
