Starless Mage

Darkness a familiar essence I've spent too much time with.

After my brother, Thomas killed me and everything went dark. I later awoke to an unfamiliar feeling.

'Huh?' I thought to myself, 'what happened? I remember cursing saying that if given another chance I would no longer allow anyone to step over me again.'

'Have I been given another chance?' I asked myself ecstatic, 'will I finally be free to do as I please?'

As if wanting my own questions to be answered I continued to speculate and dream before losing focus and everything turning to void.

When I managed to come to and reawaken I stopped my speculations and tried to determine where I was.

'Let's think about this rationally. I obviously died, I remember that much. Along with that peaceful darkness that enveloped me. However, now I seem to be in a different darkness. I can't move but thankfully I still have my con..consci.... consciousness.....' I thought before returning to the familiar void.

This would continue to occur many times over. When I would be able to wake up for short amounts of time before blacking out.

'It seems that after every time I come back from that void-like state I can stay awake for longer periods of time. I still have yet to figure out what is happening to me.'

'Am I doomed to be in this place forever? Is this my retribution for all the evil acts I've committed? Is this a trick a god is playing on me?'

I continue to go in and out of consciousness as an untold amount of time goes on. At some point, I start to realize that I'm getting bigger. I found out that I do indeed have a body. However, I can't control it and I seem to be in a refined crapped place.

Now even more time has passed and I am able to stay awake for much longer periods and I've even begun to pick up a couple of things.

I can barely hear the sounds of voices outside my confined place. They seem to be talking in a weird unknown language. Yet they seem to be nice. The voice I hear the most is female and she seems to have a caring tone.

'Wait. A confined place. Growing bigger and often losing consciousness. Now hearing voices. Don't tell me... I'm a baby?'

'I'm a damn baby and an unborn at that. What curse has been put on me? I swore to become the strongest how am I supposed to do that as a fucking baby? What, will they drown in my tears? Screw me.'

'Okay let's calm down. I apparently got another chance at life. Even though I am a baby I can still grow up to stomp on everyone. It may take many more years but now that I've been given a second chance I won't waste it.'

Much more time passes as I grow bigger by the day. Although, I can't understand the language that they speak I've picked up on a couple of words. It seems the female voice is my mother and she is named Layla.

I also heard a much deeper voice which I can only assume is my father. I don't hear him nearly as much as Layla but she seems to call him Christopher.

Even though I hear Layla's voice the most, I hear the name Rylee so much that it is starting to annoy me. I don't know what they are saying about her but judging by their tone they don't seem to be happy with her.

The only logical conclusion I can come to is that she is my older sister.

'Fuck me,' I think to myself.

'I already went through hell in one lifetime because of my family. I won't go through it again.'

'My mother seems to be caring so I might not have to worry about her. My father seems to never be home just like in my past life. So as long as he is not messed up and stays out of my way I won't have to worry about him.'

'Now for my sister if she is the slightest like Thomas I won't hesitate to dispose of her. As of right now, the only thing I know is that she seems to be a troublesome toddler. Although this will annoy me to no ends as long as she doesn't mess with me I won't kill her,' I tell myself before blacking out for the who knows time.

Longer and longer I am able to stay awake and I've grown so much bigger it's just a matter of time before I'll be born.

I haven't been able to decipher that many more words nor have I found out any information on where I am.

I seem to be in a completely foreign place.

'Wait what if I'm no longer on earth? Did I get reincarnated in a different world?' So many new questions popped into my head. Yet before I could continue to think about them I got my first glimpse of light.
