Chapter 94

[Third Person's PoV]

Gwen and Harry appeared in Peter's peripherals as he held the red liquid vial in his hands.

"It's all starting to make sense now," Peter muttered, studying it in his hands.

"What is?" Harry asked.

"Why your dad is willing to work for them. This must be the 'funds' they were talking about. He must be getting a supply of these. I believe he's working on a way to impart the serum through the use of animals. This is how Gwen and I got our ability; this is what my parents were working on."

"Wait, so your parents were working for Hydra!?" Harry asked in bewilderment.

"I don't think they even knew. That might have been the reason they wanted to get away from Norman so quickly… wait… were they targeted by Hydra? Was it them and Norman who took them out together?" Peter said with a look of contemplation.

Peter sighed and shook his head, focusing on something else. "Hold on a second, guys," Peter told the other two as he took off his mask and connected Aria to the computer.

"Aria, you know what to do. Delete and reconfigure the part of Harry sneaking in. Make sure it appears as if everything is normal and check to see if I made any mistakes sneaking in. Reconfigure that too, and lastly, check to see if this room records entries and exits and make sure that it's fixed as well."

Peter waited for a minute and made sure Aria was down, and once he made sure, he put on a serious expression. "Lastly, make sure to check if there are any files related to the Green Goblin. Make sure to delete every single one of them and make it look like an error with the system."

After another minute, Peter watched as the process was being completed. On one of the monitors, he saw Norman entering the front gates. He saw a status bar of everything being completed, how it was at 90 percent and slowly climbing up, making him anxious.

He saw how it was at 99, and Norman was climbing up the steps and heading back towards his office. Once the bar hit 100, Peter grabbed both the mask and the vial.

He put the vial inside his mouth before putting the mask back on and exited the room while turning invisible.

Peter waited on top of the door frame. As soon as the bookcase put itself back in place, the door to the office opened.

Peter didn't even think twice before crawling out of there. Norman looked up in confusion, but as he didn't see anything, he shrugged it off and closed the door behind him.

Peter managed to exit the same way he entered and leaped out of there. Once he was a few blocks away, Peter started swinging and using his powers as he made his way back to Gwen and Harry.

Once back, Peter found Harry coughing a bit, causing him to sigh as he took off his mask.

"Yohdu athrigpht?" Peter asked with the vial inside his mouth and with concern.

Gwen and Harry looked at him in confusion.

Peter spit out the vial back into his hands and asked again, "You alright?"

Harry just waved it off, "Yeah, I'm fine, you know how I normally am."

Peter and Gwen looked at each other for a second but didn't comment on it.

"Anyways, what are you going to do with it?" Harry asked, looking at the vial.

"I'm going to try and complete it. It shouldn't be that difficult…" Peter explained before putting it down and going to change.

When he returned, Harry then asked, "What was that about Green Goblin?"

Peter and Gwen just awkwardly looked at each other before Gwen decided to be the one to explain.

"Well, you see, after our first confrontation with Rhino…." As Gwen told the story, Harry was surprised.

Peter even pulled out pictures and video. "You see, in that universe, Norman Osborn was one of Spider-Man's greatest villains, and he goes by the name Green Goblin, so to prevent him or to at least slow him down, I deleted all the files pertaining to it."

Harry just let out a loud groan, "Seriously, what the hell is going on?"

"Perhaps it's fate," Peter said, shrugging his shoulders.

"It was a rhetorical question, Peter," Harry sighed while shaking his head.

"Anyways, I should be going back now. I can't stay out too late," Harry said as he started to stand.

"Are you sure?" Gwen asked with concern.

To which Harry nodded his head, "I'm feeling somewhat better, and I already have accomplished my goal of stopping my father. Honestly, I'm mentally drained and just need to relax, *Cough* *Cough*."

"Before you leave, let me draw some of your blood," Peter said in a serious manner.

"What?"

"It's for research purposes. *Sigh* come on, we both know what's going on. I'll be damned if I'm going to let you slowly grow sicker without doing a thing about it," Peter grumbled before sitting down and beckoning him forth.

Harry just smiled and shook his head in exasperation before he started rolling up his sleeves.

After the process was done, Harry left looking a bit tired and exhausted.

"So which one do you want to study, Harry's blood or the SSS?" Peter asked, presenting two vials of liquid.

Gwen gave it some thought before deciding on Harry's blood. "Although the SSS is a biological treasure trove, I'm more worried about Harry. Pass me his blood."

Peter nodded as they both began to work. Peter started to decode the structure of the SSS until a few minutes later when he heard Gwen let out a loud gasp while slamming the desk.

"WHAT!!"

Peter grew concerned and went to check it out, "What's wrong?"

Peter looked at what she was looking at. There were 2 DNA helixes, one had the label of Harry while the other one had the name Oshtoran Syndrome, the name of Harry's hereditary disease.

"Peter, look at this and tell me what you see?" Gwen asked with utmost seriousness.

Peter saw how a line from the DNA was highlighted on both ends to show the specific line which gave Harry the disease.

As Peter studied it, he tilted his head in confusion, "It looks pretty normal to me… well, you know what I mean."

"I thought as well, until I decided to do a closer examination," Gwen said as she started typing away, causing the two strands of DNA to appear as holograms.

She first showed Peter how it was supposed to appear, "See here, the OS (Oshtoran Syndrome) starts from this point in the DNA strand and wraps around the structure and ends here" She said pointing to a specific spot on the bottom of it and then the top.

She then showed Harry's DNA, "But on Harry, it starts just a few spots over causing it to wrap around it just slightly differently ending in a different place. You can't really tell at first until really close inspection, it looks almost artificial…"

Peter's eyes widened as he looked at Gwen in surprise, "You don't mean…?"

Gwen nodded her head, "Harry was never sick, Peter and looking at this, I don't believe his mother was either… Peter, they were poisoned, poisoned to make it look like they had a hereditary disease."
