Hatred is a very strong emotion. It causes other bad emotions to come up. Like pain or anger. In Kyle's case, he experienced more of pain from his hatred for those in power like Jason and now his 'owner'. Not only external pain but also internally.
Calista on the other hand experienced more of anger. Anger for all the men in her life including Kyle now.
"I am a mere product." When he said those words his heart fell. He was once in power, extreme power and like everyone in his life he had misused it. That was why he had no one even when Jason betrayed him.
"Good." The pain stopped. "The room you just left is now yours," she added and left him there. Both of them were so blinded by their own pain that they did not see each other's pain.
Even if they did see each other's pain, they would think it was deserved. No one deserves emotional pain. Not even our dear main leads with Kyle who had misused power and Calista who bought a man for personal satisfaction.
Kyle tightly closed his eyes. He promised himself that he would take revenge on Jason and take back his power. His heart did not want to accept that Jason did what was right.
Calista went to her study room with plans to work the whole night. Sleep was a foreign thing to her. She was afraid that if she closed her eyes for even a second, her enemies would get her.
Still, two hours before dawn, she had fallen asleep. After all, she was human and humans get tired.
The sun is usually bright and cheerful, however, even with it's powerful rays, it could not light up the hearts of those in the dark. They say those in the dark avoid the sun so they could completely blend in with the darkness.
This was similar to both Calista and Kyle. Calista's study was completely covered allowing little light. She was woken up by her phone alarm. Taken out of her dreams, she was frustrated. Her dreams were so much better than her reality, but she could not go back to sleep even if she wanted to.
Kyle had slept on the stairs, not wanting to accept his fate. It was cold. He only had the shorts he was bought with. The house itselft was always cold as per Calista's order, but with him being half naked, it was freezing. He didn't even know how he managed to sleep.
It was probably his stubbornness. The sunlight rays had not yet reached the part he was at.
The scene of him hugging his body is what Calista saw. She scoffed. Did he want to die? She was aware of how cold the house was.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Nothing," he answered. His trembling body betrayed his efforts to hide the fact he was cold.
"Are you planning on killing yourself?" She went towards him and touched his forehead. He didn't have a fever but his skin was as cold as ice. "Tsk, you are really something," she added.
"Why do you care?" He asked with a pout making him look extremely cute.
"How can you be so cute when I hate you?"
"Huh?"
She held his arms and made him stand up from the cold floor. "Go take a bath. You'll feel better then," she said, her voice cold like always.
"I don't want to." He sat back on the cold floor. "Are you going to force me to take a bath?"
"Yes. If you die, where will I get another toy?" She asked seriously making him raise his brows. First he was a product and now he was a toy? "Go take a warm bath," she added.
As expected, he didn't budge. He even stopped looking at her and ignored her. This stubborn man...
"Then I guess I'll just have to make you," she said and he instinctively held his colar. Nothing happened making him raise his head to look at her. She had an evil mocking grin that he wished he could wipe off.
"I never thought I could make someone that scared of me," she grinned wider.
"I was not scared!"
"I'm sure you weren't."
Suddenly, he felt her hands on him. Confused, he was about to say something but in the next second, he was in her arms! She was carrying him in a bridal style effortlessly.
How did she have that much strength? Wasn't she a woman?
