A Terrifying Discovery

It was a calm spring afternoon, circa 1891. Inside the iconic 221B Baker Street, sat a certain consulting detective, retired from his various exploits over the years, in his comfortable chair, smoking his favorite brand of tobacco, theorising the possibility of using sounds of certain frequencies to control animals, which would render the threat of wild animal related deaths moot. A strange train of thought indeed, but what else could be expected from the great Sherlock Holmes himself?

A little further away, in downtown London, we see Dr. John H. Watson, sat in his office with a patient sitting across from him, explaining how he found a small mushroom lodged in his rectal area, with Dr. Watson looking on with some trepidation, knowing the sight he would have to behold next. It was quite a comical scene, really, but one that was understandably common in a self respecting doctor's practice.

Both men, although leading extraordinarily different lives, still reminisce their time together and think about the most original and dangerous cases that the two have shared in their time living and working together. The Sign of Four, The Hound of the Baskervilles and A Study in Scarlet are only some of the many adventures that come to mind.

Dr. Watson's wife, Mary, was upstairs, concocting a chicken and cream soup, her specialty, because she knew that was the only thing that calmed John when he came home after enduring whatever tortures his patients had in store for him. After a particularly rigorous day, Watson came home.

"Mary, I'm gonna need a little extra of your soup today, I had to do a colonoscopy of this extremely fat man, and you wouldn't believe the things I found, I could barely sustain myself." After hearing no reply, he puts his coat and briefcase down, and goes into the bedroom, expecting to find her asleep. Much to his surprise, these was no sign of her. He looked around the house for a couple of minutes. "Where could she have gone this time of night?", he thought to himself. Just as he was trying to think of places Mary could've gone off to, his eyes stumble upon a hastily written note, lying on the counter-top. As he began to read the note, his eyes opened wide from horror.
