Going Hunting (3)

"Where should we start?" Ken asked, seeing that Max was leading them to the spot they previously hunted two days ago.

"Well, didn't you figure it out?" Max said, understanding why he was asking. It is know that hunting in the same place will make the beasts wary of that place.

Magical beasts have a form of intelligence and the stronger they are the smarter they become adding to the dangers of fighting high-leveled beasts. But as normally there would be only Low-Graded Beasts around the out-skirts of the forest they would just feel the death energy surrounding the place and leave, scared that they might end up like the previous beasts that were around here.

It's true that there are exceptions. There are know undead monsters that feed on this death energy, making them stronger or there are High-Tiered intelligent Beasts that may lay ambushes for the people hunting repetitively in that place.

"I don't really understand your idea so can you share it?" Ken, even more confused than before asked.

"Umm.. of course. You remember that we didn't get that rabbits corpse when we left in a hurry two days ago right? We left as fast as possible to get Anna treated so we forgot about it. We'll head over there to see if any other magical beast came to get the body pretty much, if not we'll head over to a new place." Max explained his reasoning, it was not the best to leave his teammates in the dark even though a leader sometimes hides stuff from the team, right now he didn't need to.

As he said that they became a bit gloomy, remembering the accident. Seeing this, Anna not wanting for them to have a head full of concerns when hunting around addressed.

"Look guys...." She paused a little, and made up her mind, then continued with a voice full of determination ".. I know that you are concerned and I thank you for it but we can't let stuff like this bring us down. We will be injured at some point, wouldn't it be best to be injured and not killed?" Starting to get bolder while talking, she said what was on her mind, she didn't want to draw her team down while fighting.

Everyone looked at her a bit surprised by her words. They knew they were true, and understood the fact that they were thinking of holding back a lot more during battles to protect each other, but coming from the very person that was injured had a bigger impact.

As Anna began to talk they didn't continue forwarding towards the place they fought before, and were now staring at Anna which made her feel a bit overwhelmed.

"It's true.. we should do our best so we minimize how hurt we get, right?" Ken said, trying to get her out of the slightly awkward situation.

The other girls, which talked to Anna and helped her while injured, looked at her awe-struck. They remembered her crying and yelling that it hurts but now said something like this. They began admiring her confidence but thought it was a bit funny.

They began composing themselves once again, becoming aware once again of their surroundings. Even though they wanted to talk more about it they can't get careless when it comes to their safety so they chose to not delve on it, at least for now.

Reaching the outer edge of the area where they have fought before Max turned to Ashley pointing his finger in the air. As she understood what he wanted to say she began looking around, finding a tree and nimbly climbing into it.

Anna extended her arm after seeing Ashley reaching one of the thicker branches of the tree, light green particles started coming out of her. Shaped as small diamonds they traveled along with the breeze to Ashley, slowly engulfing her feet.

Right the moment Ashley felt that she was lighter. She began jumping around from tree to tree, aided by Anna's magic that made hell fall slower and be faster.

Her blonde hair was fluttering in the wind as she jumped from tree to tree with high speeds. She reached a small clearing in the forest in which the fight took place. She didn't like thinking about what happened so she began immediately inspecting the clearing and around it.

Her eyes went wide as she focused her sight a bit more, it looked like she didn't believe what she was seeing.

A smirk appeared and it suited her. A beast with great potential to be hunted had made the clearing its own resting place. She turned around after looking at it a bit more, examining its abilities, and went back to her group shortly after.

Swiftly jumping down from the tree she made her existence clear as the sound of her voice vibrated: "You were right, there is a Medium-Grade Magical Boar in the clearing. It seems like it had newly-evolved as it isn't as big as normal ones, but it surely is bigger than any Low-Grade. You might need to check it out yourself for now Max as I can't decide if it's either Medium-Grade or at Peak Low-Grade" A calm voice came from her mouth, even though visibly quite happy for the find she had, her voice was calm, with no emotion radiating from it.

"That's pretty good, we could make some good money if we sell the meat of a Medium-Grade Boar, and we can sell it's skin or keep it for when we need it... I think we should check it out, it will be good if we defeat it." Even though Max was the leader, he wouldn't do anything without the accord of the majority, they needed one more to accept as it seems that Ashley was already on board with trying to get that thing down.

"I want to skip this one, even though it will not be as hard as a Medium-Grade Magical Boar we need to be careful, after all it is still a Medium-Grade Beast.." Anna voiced her thoughts, at which Max nodded and turned around to the other two.

Rya and Ken looked at each other, it looked like they tried to figure out what the other wanted to do. As front-line fighters, along with Max, they wanted to see if their capabilities were enough to take a Medium-Grade Beast on.

Rya nodded and when Ken saw that he nodded as well, confirming their thoughts and almost at the same time they said "Let's see if we can take that thing down."

With the votes being four to one they slowly made their way into the clearing, approaching the one meter and a half tall, half a meter wide boar. Of course those were just estimations they gave seeing him, but it truly looked bigger than normal.

It had dark brown skin and small hairs all over him, its skin looked thick, stretched evenly all over its body with two bloodied tusks on his face. They looked sharp and surely they won't leave with just a scratch after getting hit by those.

It had been peacefully sleeping until now. but as it felt Max and his group, he woke up. Mad and ready to kill the invaders it opened its eyes and a red tint specifically known to be seen at beasts that were either enraged or berserk in the first place could be seen. It slowly got onto its four legs as Max's group went in position.

"An evolving Peak-Grade" Max muttered right as he saw it. He was more confident in defeating it now.
