The kiss lingered in the air, crackling with a heat I didn't know I was capable of feeling. Zaya's lips had been firm and commanding, leaving a fire in the pit of my belly that was equal parts exhilarating and terrifying.
As she pulled back, her breath hot against my skin, reality came crashing in. My heart raced, pounding against my ribcage like it was trying to escape. This was a mistake. It had to be. But the way her eyes held mine, dark and filled with something primal, made it impossible to think clearly.
Before she could say anything before I could even let myself process what had just happened I reached up, grabbing her by the front of her towel and pulling her down to me. My lips found hers again, this time with a desperation that surprised even me.
