Chapter 15: Playful Ghost.

(Latrice's POV)

It's been a day when I got discharged from the hospital, Kuro stayed with me until then. Today is Sunday, I already got my allowance from the bank, and I also visited grandma to the hospital before then.

Now I'm with Ruru that seems to be mad because I didn't bring him with me last Friday. He's actually with me but he's not talking or anything, he's just following me while looking at the other direction while crossing his arm.

We're heading to the market to buy some food. My chin still aches a bit but it's not that serious like before.

We made an entrance inside the huge grocery store. As I entered the grocery, I took a small basket and proceeded to the canned goods.

"Ruru, if you want to explore the place. You can do so." When I made a little glimpse at him, he is still sulking and didn't even bother to look at me.

"…you are that mad huh?" All I can do is to spare him some time. So, I took back my scrutiny to the items but I got confused when there's a canned item in my basket.

"Wait, did I put this here?" when I looked at it, "Ugh. This is a green peas." there's no way I would put this here. I don't like green peas!

I returned the canned food to its original place as I continue selecting what should I buy, I placed my favorite Shiitake mushroom in the basket, 5 shiitake mushroom all in all, "Next. I should add Yakitori..hmm.." However, I noticed that something was added in my basket again. It was a little heavy than before, I looked at it and it was the Green peas again! This time, 2 canned green peas!

"Ruru!" I felt a little ticked off because of Ruru who keeps returning the canned green peas in the basket.

"What?! I didn't do anything!" He irked at me. "well, who else would put this thing in my basket!? It's only you and me!" I vexed, he suddenly clenched his fist, his frown seemed to be permanent.

I noticed the bypassing people that were looking at me very confused and freaked out so I stopped from arguing Ruru.

Why is he doing this to me?! He doesn't have to follow me if he's just going to mess with me like this.

"You're so annoying." I mumbled, barely audible. As I resumed taking other canned food by my likings. "Latrice-chan!" I heard Ruru shouted my name worriedly, so I faced him while wearing an annoyed face. "What?" By a little sudden, someone pushed me with an extreme forced through the items, "AHH!" It was so sudden.

The rack moved like it's going to fall down to me but thankfully it didn't. I breathed in relief.

But some of the cans were spilled to the ground so I uplifted them to fix them back to their place.

But an abrupt shout of the people not-so-far from me made me confused when I looked at them. They are staring at me, "Move out!" some shouted like something is about to happen.

"Latrice-chan!" When I peeked, what's happening behind me. The rack suddenly became unbalanced as the items fall to my head and ground, the rack itself is about to squeeze me!

"Ahhhh!" I shouted; my foot is stiffed in the ground that I can't even move because of antsy.

The rack knocked down together with myself, Although I felt a sudden pain on my right leg. My whole body feels so warm, it's like someone is hugging me away from the heaviness of the rack.

"Hey! Help the girl! Lift that rack!" I hear people are in a panic.

"Are you hurt?" When I turned my head, My eyes widened when I saw Ruru is trying to protect me at any cost. "Ru..ruru!" I started to sob, I'm happy at the same time sad.

"I'm asking you if you are hurt, stupid." He teasingly muttered, "Uh-uh… Just my leg. But I'm alright." With a weak voice, I assured him that I'm just fine.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't able to protect you properly." I shook my head as I smiled at him, "You protected me. Don't think that way." When the rack finally gets lifted, an average man carried me.

"Hey, are you okay?" He spoke with me with the worrying tone, I nodded as I tried to mention my leg at him, "but I hurt my leg, Sir."

"We'll bring you to the hospital." He expressed. "Please don't! I don't want to go back again to the hospital! I'm begging you, Sir!" I pleaded, the staff and other workers seemed shocked but as I request that thing.

They just brought me inside the staff office and treated my sprained leg.

The cashier lady applied some ointment in my swollen leg gently.

"We're sorry. To think that a customer will experience this too! This place really got haunted!" Ruru is with me, silently listening.

"Haunted?" I asked confusedly. "To be honest, there's some ghost lurking inside the market lately. First, they only play tricks to the workers but this is the first time someone gets seriously got injured." The man explained.

"Other employees quitted because of that."

All of this was worked by a ghost, I wonder if what is Ruru's reaction. When I peeked at Ruru, the seriousness was plastered all over his face.

"We're going to accompany you to your home. Please bring some groceries with you as our apology."

When everything calmed down, the man who carried me before placed me in the car. He's going to send me home together with a lot of groceries. They gave me for free as compensation to my injuries, I couldn't refuse it because it's for free.

Ruru, well he didn't come with me. I bet he was mad before. He whispered to me before that he'll take care of the ghost so that he going to repeat the same thing to the other people.

But I hope that he won't be going to do 'that' to the ghost.

Do you still remember the old man's soul he vanquished? I'm hoping that he won't go to do that.

I arrived at my apartment safely, the man carries me until we reached the second floor and gently let me walk inside my apartment. He also put the groceries inside so everything is going well except Ruru who remained in that place. When the man left, Euclece greeted me cheerfully, "Welcome back---" Euclece gasped in surprise, "Wha--? What is the fucking hell that happened to you this time?!" She hysterically exclaimed. I can't help but laugh at it sheepishly.

(Ruru's POV)

I was waiting for the workers of the market go home, I will send someone in hell tonight.

"You dared to hurt the most important person of mine. I will make sure you will regret everything." I talked to myself when I saw everyone moved out. They locked the Grocery's door tightly shut.

I floated as infiltrate inside the store, When I get inside, I easily spotted the mulish ghost. He was sitting one of the racks in the grocery, he was playing with the items. I locked my sight at him, the moment I made a move. I made an excursion to his place.

Without any hesitation, I attacked him from above but he noticed me quickly. He dodges my infliction but it's not over yet, I followed him wherever he goes.

"Wh-what are you doing?!" He asked I stared at him dully.

"Wait---Red-eyed ghost? D-don't come near me!" I don't get what he was saying. "You dared to hurt my property, it's only right to get her revenge, right?" With a husky tone, I took out.

I made satisfaction smiled through my face. "P-property?!" I glared at him.

"Who in their right mind will call a human his property?! Do you know what are you talking about?!" He's shouting at me and it's getting annoying.

"I didn't ask for your opinion. You've hurt humans and that's enough reason to erase your very existence in this place." After that, I appeared behind him as I strangle his neck.

"Please d.. Don't do this… Humans, I'm .. I'm just trying.. to get.. their attention… I.. I don't really want..to hurt..—" but I gripped his neck tightly as he couldn't speak anymore.

"I only know one thing and do you know what it is?" I let him see my wicked expression, his eyes bulged out. "You've hurt her and you have to disappear here." And Finally, that nuisance vanished within my grasp.

I looked my hand that was terribly trembling, "W-what am I doing?" my mind was covered by haziness. It just like a fog that trying to poison me with thoughts and things I shouldn't be doing.

As I touch my face, I had a sharped pain to my head. "What..what is this?! It hurt so much!" I'm just a ghost? But why am I hurting this much? Then Latrice genuine smile flashed to my mind, "Ah yes. It was all for her."

When I roamed my eyes in the whole place, all I can see is darkness lingering within me and it's irritating me so much! "Ahhhh!!!!"

I couldn't stop myself from being wild, I broke everything I see and everything I feel. "Go away!"

I feel sadness, grief, sorrow—but why?! Why!?

'Latrice-chan! Where did you---' I saw her with that guy who helped her before.

'Eh? She's with some guy, I wonder what happened to her.' Euclece muttered lowly.

"I wish I'm still a human… that's right! Ahhhhhh!!!!" I cannot longer control myself, all I want is to break everything.
