Chapter 1Volume 1.1 Apocalypse Plus Strangers from Another World

Another supposed to be a normal day with the only difference being my hands are tied with a samurai-looking sword pointed at me.

"Who sent you here? And where is this place?"

A woman with black hair tied in a single ponytail threatened me. Her strange red eyes were glaring at me. She was also beautiful, like that fierce beauty in some action-pact novels. Seriously, I don't know either. And this is my room. Why am I being threatened like this inside my room?

"If you don't speak, I will slowly make you suffer and cough up what I want to hear. Is the Demon Sect ordering you to do this?"

She pressed her sword more to my neck. 'Eek!'

"I don't know anything," I said. I'm amazed at how calm my voice was. And the demon sect, seriously. At times like this...

"You dared to abduct this noble!" We both turned to see another stranger that appeared in my room. She has this curly and long blonde hair. Wearing a frilly purple dress. "I am Edina Von Suarez! My father is the duke of the North! If they got the news that I am here, none of your family will ever survive." Her purple eyes glared at the Samurai girl. She was another beauty that looked like those high-class aristocratic nobles in some historical fiction.

But are you certain, it was the right time to speak about such things? If you didn't shut up first, whatever noble thing were you mentioning, none of that would save you here.

"Miss, it seems there is some misunderstanding here." This time another strange person who was already here when I woke up, spoke. He was another gorgeous being with ocean blue hair and light blue eyes. He was also wearing some sort of noble white suit like the frilly girl. "When I woke up, I'm already here as well." But his cunning and confident expression made him seemingly someone you wouldn't dare to offend.

"Yes, that's right." Another man, who was wearing a white cloak said with a trembling voice. "I remember that I'm together with the head exorcist, then I suddenly blacked out. When I woke up, I'm already here in a strange place tied up by you." I couldn't completely see his face since he was covered with a hood. But his silver eyes were pretty.

There was another guy with bright red hair and wearing flashy clothes like some son of a rich billionaire and he was still unconscious right now.

Looking at all of them, I felt like I'm some shrimp that got mixed into a bowl of goldfish.

"Yes, that's right!" I finally spoke as well to add to their claims or I might die as well. "I'm just an ordinary student but all of the sudden when I woke up, I was tied up in my own room, and you 'crazy-looking' strangers," Well I omitted the crazy-looking. "Appeared in my room! I'm just a normal average teenage girl."

The Samurai girl looked a bit hesitant to all of us. It seemed she just needed a little push.

"It seems you are a strong person. If we intended to do something to you, you will easily overpower us."

"The Demon sect also trained children to be assassins." The Samurai girl said as she pointed the samurai sword on my neck once again. "How can I be certain that you're not assassins from the Demon Sect?"

Damn. Think of any excuse, Roxanne. If she talks about demon sects and whatnots, then probably she might think that she came from that kind of world.

"Do you think this is still the world you lived in? Look carefully at her surroundings. I don't know what's happening but it seemed you were all (delusional) other worlders who suddenly came to my world. And I swear I really have no idea about any of this! I'm just as surprised as anyone in this room is."

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

All of a sudden we all turned towards my door. There was someone who was banging it with strong force.

I looked at the Samurai girl, to see if she was going to open the door. But strangely she made no actions on it.

"Please, untie me." I looked at the Samurai girl. "I will take a look at it. If I do something bad, kill me in an instant."

The Samurai girl looked at me then she raised her sword. When I thought that she was going to slice me to my death. I found my restraints being cut off.

"Do what you need to do." She said in a threatening voice as she pointed her sword towards me.

I just gulped and slowly made my way towards my door. I checked the peephole to see who it was. But I immediately froze when I saw something more sinister. A woman who had half of her face only a bone now was strongly banging the door.

"What is it?!" The samurai girl asked.

But I couldn't answer her. Memories of being in a hospital room flashed in my mind. That made my body unconsciously tremble. I fell to the ground, although I could feel that the sword was still pointing at me but I didn't care anymore. "Why is this triggered now?" I clutched my aching head.

My phone that was in the pocket of my white jacket suddenly rang.

"What is that sound?" Sia said, looking at me with warrier.

I picked it up with trembling hands. And saw that the caller was my brother.

"Hello, Ryle?" This was the perfect time to call for help. But then before I could speak anything, he cut me off and screamed.

"Don't go outside your room! I will come to look after..." The call was cut off.

"Hello! Ryle!"

Then all of a sudden, multiple explosions were heard outside the house along with the loud sirens of police. Completely ignoring the Samurai Girl, my foot instinctively ran towards my window.

I opened the curtains wide. And my eyes widened at the sight that was in front of me. Multiple clouds of smoke were rising in different parts of the city. I just saw now a helicopter crashing into another building and creating a tremendous explosion. But not only that, as I looked below, many people got eaten and massacred by strange monsters. And that time, as if seeing the current situation of the city like that.

A blue translucent screen appeared in all of the people in the room.

〔First Mission: Survive the First Month of the Apocalypse in Roxanne Bright's Room.〕

Mission, gifts? What the heck? And mind reading...

{What is this Mission? Is this her gimmick? Will killing her make all of these disappear?} At the same time I heard a cold voice behind me. It was the Samurai Girl. I dodged to my side and her sword sliced through the curtains.

{She can easily dodge my attacks. I knew it, she was an assassin!}

Argh. So this is how Mind Reading works. And she was dead set on killing me now.

"Wait!" I said as I continued to dodge her sword. "I'm the same as you. I don't really know what's happening. And the whole place I'm living in, the whole city is in total chaos! If I wanted to kill you, why would I sleep with you and untie you? You said that when you wake up, you are already in this room along with us! It makes no sense, that if I want to kill or abduct you, I will just leave you freely, thinking that you will kill me."

The Samurai Girl stopped her attacks. {What she said makes sense.}

I sighed in relief hearing her thoughts.

{However, how come can she easily dodge my attacks? Unless she is really an assassin who is scheming...}

"I learned self-defense when I was a child." I immediately said.

{How did she know what I was thinking?! Can she read my mind?}

Yes. Well, there was no way I could say that I could read her mind. Or she might really kill me this time. "It's written all over your face. Based on your outstanding skills and swordsmanship, it would be impossible for anyone to really dodge your attacks!"

{She has keen insight. However, it is true that I can't kill her yet until I completely understand what's happening here.} She sheathed her sword back to her scabbard.

'I'm really safe now, for now right?' I looked warily at her. Then the Samurai girl simply sat on the sofa.

"Now then, if you are not really someone who abducted me and not hired to kill me," She crossed her legs. "Tell me if you have some idea on what's going on?"

Bound by an ancient prophecy and haunted by the ghosts of her past, Eve is now at the mercy of the one being she should hate and fear the most—The Hand of Death himself. Hades, a king carved from blood and his own soul's decay, determined to avenge his family's slaughter and rid his people of the werewolves. He believes Eve is the key to his victory. To him, she is nothing but weapon foretold by prophecy, a tool he will wield to destroy the opposing forces threatening his pack. Yet, he finds himself craving this powerful yet broken woman. Leaving him questioning if she is truly his weapon or the one destined to unravel his carefully laid plans. *** He stalked toward me, a predator closing in on its prey, his eyes dark and unreadable. "So, you laugh?" His voice was low, dangerously soft, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I swallowed hard, suddenly aware of how difficult it had become to breathe. "Hades, I—" "But you only laugh at other men's jokes," he interrupted, his gaze piercing, devoid of any humor. "Not your husband's." The accusation in his tone was sharp, slicing through the air between us. A nervous chuckle escaped me. "You can't be serious... He’s your beta, for Goddess’ sake." In an instant, he closed the distance between us, so fast it left me breathless. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me flush against his body, the heat of him making my skin tingle. I gasped, but before I could say a word, his lips crashed onto mine, claiming my mouth with a force that sent shockwaves through me. The kiss was punishing, hungry—I couldn't breathe, couldn't think. When he finally pulled back, I was trembling, my chest heaving as I struggled to regain my breath. His eyes, dark and stormy, searched mine with a possessive intensity. "You can’t laugh at my jokes..." he whispered, his voice a dangerous rasp as his fingers trailed lower, sending a shiver down my spine, "but you’ll come with my fingers." I shivered, heat pooling low in my belly at his words, his touch. The world around us blurred, fading into nothing as his hand slipped lower, drawing a ragged gasp from my lips. The look in his eyes told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me, and there was no denying the primal connection between us in that moment. "I don’t need your laughter," he murmured against my skin, his breath hot on my neck. "I’ll have every other part of you instead." **** Dark fantasy romance Morally Grey ML Angst Suspense ENEMIES to lovers Smut (like sprinkles on your ice cream)
