Irene was paid to assassinate the Alpha King Asher, it wasn't her first time killing someone neither it would be her last...atleast she thought it wouldn't be. She didn't knew what grudge the King's enemies had against the King neither did she care, she just loved the money after a well done job.
Even though the King Asher already had a future Queen forcefully decided for him he was still looking for his one true Queen and Luna, and when his eyes fell on her his heart recognised her before his brain could. “Mate!”
She looked fragile, vulnerable and obedient at first but she was danger in disguise; she was strong, fearless and brave. She was everything that was unexpected and everything he wanted but Irene wasn't here to fall in love with him she was here to kill him and nothing could stop her.

“So you are here to kill me?” He asked but she could tell by his delighted smile that he wasn't asking her he was just finding the whole situation amusing.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” She said, directly looking at him in the eye, warning him that she had no fear of him.
His smile grew deeper as he asked the unexpected. “Then what should I do to make you fall in love with me?”
“Your Majesty...” She hesitated for a moment but looking at him she couldn't help but be curious. “I'm here to assassinate you.” After getting no response from him she continued. “Regardless relationship between a prey and a predator is always forbidden.”
“By predator you mean yourself,” He pointed his finger at her and she nodded joining him in his little play. “And by prey you mean me.”
She heard him striding towards her, all the smiles and playfulness gone from his face as he walked towards her with intimidation but she didn't flinch. He held out his hand and gently caressed her cheeks. She didn't reject him neither showed any sign of vulnerability.
He came closer, leaning his face against hers, there mouth not even half inch apart and when she was about to close her eyes for an unexpected kiss to show his dominance against her he whispered into her ears. “Fruit always taste better when it's forbidden, don't you agree?”

He took her hand and placed his lip on it. “Sleep well and have some rest. Today was a long day.”
He opened the chamber gate to leave her alone because if he stayed a moment longer he knew he would forget everything and pounce on her.
“Asher.” He heard her little voice from behind, even though there was nothing seductive about her voice instead it was filled with exigence for him but the way his name sounded from her lips he felt his last wall of inhibition breaking.
He groaned. “Don't!... Don't provoke me woman.”
He looked behind him and there she stood, her head down, her hands clenched together. First time in front of him she was showing her vulnerable side to him. Was she sad that he rejected her advances?
He turned around and after hearing him shift she involuntarily looked up at him, she flinched as he caught her off guard but as fast as lightening bold strike her face regained her composer again with the mask of lies she wore in front of the world.
“Don't worry I will not try to kill you this time.” She challenged him.
He closed the door behind him. “You won't be able to lift a finger after I'm done with you tonight.”
He brisked towards her taking her up into his arms, his lips collided into hers in an explosion of passion and need untill there was nothing more to devour.
