Rignus Mark

Sistine stood in her seat and narrowed her eyes to Sidius. "I knew it from your arrival but I give you a doubt."

"As I thought... It is that disgusting power."

Amelia, who heard the headmaster, threw a puzzled look at her. "What do you mean headmaster?"

"You two get out," Sistine commanded.

Amelia and Michael immediately knew what to do as they dashed away from the building, leaving Sidius and Sistine behind.

Sidius, perplexed and unaware of the unfolding situation, remained seated in a tense silence. Afraid to do anything.

He could sense the shifting currents of the encounter taking a bad turn. His instincts screamed at him to flee, yet an invisible weight from Sistine did not permit him to do so.

Sistine's delicate hands began to move gracefully as it danced through the air, echanting a magic spell. Her voice resonated like a melodious symphony, each word carrying a heavenly tone.

"I call upon divine light, Veil of mystic might…"

"Capture those evils, tremble with its fright…"

"Seal!"

With the magic spell done, Sistine locked her hands in a praying position. A dimensional cube, radiating a divine light, enveloped Sidius as they floated in the air.

Sidius could feel that his existence became isolated from the world.

'Huh? What's going on?!' he thought when he suddenly became unconscious.

Suddenly, a crimson dark energy surged within Sidius' body like a vicious lion that broke through its cage, ready to slaughter. His eyes went black and his expression became dark. However, the aura quickly hidden itself from the depths of his body.

Sistine's eyes widened in shock with her hands trembling in fear and excitement.

"I was right," she mused, pursing her lips. "My holy essence did sense it," she added.

Sidius remained unaware of the current event when suddenly a mark from his forehead glowed in a golden light. It was a halo with sharp patterns that resonated with an ancient foreign power.

"The Rignus Mark?!" Sistine exclaimed.

She recognized what it looked like but she did not know its real function. She simply knew that this mark meant that the child before her was chosen to be a hero, or more accurately, he was chosen as a mere pawn in a God's game.

Sistine gradually understood the situation and a blend of pity formed onto her features. She gently shook her head and mused. "What a pitiful child you are. I can't tell if your fate is a blessing or a curse."

Then, her mind shifted to the mark radiating on Sidius' forehead.

'I can't afford to mess with them,' she inwardly murmured, realizing the gravity of the situation after seeing the mark. She proceeded to unseal Sidius and the young man's body descended gently to the ground.

Sistine looked sympathetically at him, pursing her lips and muttering a thought.

"I will not interfere with your life young man but I'll be watching you. Your destiny awaits, a path filled with difficulties."

"Since the Rignus Mark has chosen you, I can rest assured."

However, contrary to her words, an inkling of uncertainty was troubling her. The young man's destiny was grand and imposing, beyond her scope of influence and even foresight.

"I can only hope your path does not lead you to become a villain."

Outside of the building, Amelia and Michael were searching for answers.

"Amelia, do you have any idea why the headmaster kicked us out?" Michael asked, furrowing his brows with curiosity.

Amelia's response was a tense silence, her mind was preoccupied with a growing sense of understanding. She had a hunch about the headmaster's intentions and was attuned to the unfolding scenario at the eleventh floor using her spiritual sense.

Siddenly, a shift in the energy alerted her senses, signaling a change in the atmosphere. She hirriedly dashed towards the building with Michael following suit.

"What happened here, headmaster?" Michael inquired, breaking the tension.

Meanwhile, Amelia's attention swiftly shifted to Sidius, and she hastly reached his side. "Sidius!"

"He's merely unconscious," Sistine reassured, her gaze momentarily fixed on the expansive view from the towering building's window, where you can see most of the infrastructure of Edrodorth academy.

Amelia's brow furrowed. "So, he passed the test?"

"Yes, wake him up," Sistine confirmed. Her expression was calm as she settled back into her seat.

"What test?" Michael interjected with a puzzled frown, directing his question towards Amelia.

"It means that Sidius is not evil," Amelia explained. However, Michael still did not understand.

Amelia sighed and elaborated. "The headmaster have this hobby of delving into the depths of human emotions using her holy essence, discerning their true nature." she clarified before gently arranging Sidius on a nearby sofa along the room's right wall.

"Wake up Sidius!" Amelia shouted with an urgent voice as she vigorously shook his form.

"Let me do it!" Michael chimed in, his fists were locked at each other as if ready for a strike. He'd been wanting to impart some physical lessons to Sidius.

Amelia, however, cast him an icy glance, effectively silencing his intent.

After a while, Sidius stirred, his senses reawakening. His eyes scanned the room and pieced together his surroundings.

"What happened?" Sidius asked. The last thing he knew was the headmaster's incantation before he succumbed to unconsciousness.

"It's nothing serious," Amelia reassured, offering him a gentle smile.

Sistine's gaze shifted between them, cutting through their conversation. "Since you're awake now, let's proceed with some more announcements."

The trio's attention sharpened, focusing their sight solely on her.

"First and foremost, as per the academy rules, with Sidius' exceptional A+ growth talent, he will be reassigned to Section A and shall be granted a high-quality dorm."

Hearing the news, Sidius couldn't help but be elated. The disruption in his initial plan of being lowkey had brought forth unexpected advantages. Now, he did not need to worry over finding lodgings within the academy. Moreover, his placement in Section A likely meant access to the academy's advanced training facilities and resources.

A surge of excitement bubbled within him but he hidden it, maintaining a composed exterior.

'This is a great opportunity,' Sidius mused inwardly, imagining the rapid advancement his training could be.
