CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

The rest of the day was slightly unnerving. She couldn't deny the fact that she was somewhat nervous and she had no idea what the rest of the day would bring.

She had to try and help her pack and she didn't know what to expect for the days to come but from what she had heard the challenges were anything but a walk in the park.

She was nervous and it didn't matter how much she tried not to be. It seemed hard for her not to wonder what the rest of the day would bring.

She could feel his gaze before her and she tried her best to stay calm. She sucked in a deep breath as she followed behind him.

She was nervous and it didn't matter how hard she tried not to be.

He led her towards the pack grounds for breakfast and for once there was no more drama as they ate in nearly complete silence.

She couldn't deny that it felt slightly weird. With Sasha gone though it meant that there was no one left to cause them any more trouble. She was grateful for that. The last thing that she wanted to have now was any more drama.

She made her way inside the tent as she tried to keep herself optimistic. She sucked in a deep breath. "What is it?" He asked her.

She could tell the slightly harsh tone of his voice and she knew that he hadn't meant for it to sound that way but that was just how it had come out.

"It is just that you get bored. Does it ever get boring around here?" She asked him suddenly.

She watched as he hummed.

"Well I would see how you would find it that way but for the rest of us there is plenty in the pack and I can assure you that it is far from boring." He said to her.

She was just going to have to take his word for it. She found herself humming as she nodded her head at him in response.

"Do You have anywhere to go? Before the ceremony starts. I feel as though I am trapped in a cage and I disliked that greatly." She said to him.

She watched as he seemed to think over her words for a minute. She didn't like that he was going to put much thought into it until then.

"Well, there are the orphanages and the homes for the elders." He said to her and she felt her mood slightly brighten at his words.

She felt a sense of relief as it felt as though she was finally going to be able to find something that she could use to occupy her time.

For the rest of the dinner, she felt much better. A  smile was plastered on his face and it was as thick things were finally looking up. She had plans to go to the orphanage, she wanted to meet the children there.

She felt as though it was time for her to start looking at finding a new lease on life. Things were bound to get better or worse and it was time for her to start deciding on choosing how she was going to map out her path.

She left the table with a new thought in her mind. She knew that it was time for her to go and see the children. She didn't know what it would be like but she hoped that it would be welcoming of her.

And she came to a stop in front of the large tent and felt a  slight bout of nerves come over her. She wasn't sure if she could go through with it because she knew that she had to suck it up.

She could feel the sound of the children's laughter coming down inside and she felt her heart beat erratically against her chest at the thought.

Without a second thought, she pulled back the flap and made her way inside. She came face to face with the curious eyes of several children who looked towards her with an edge of curiosity. She held her breath wondering how they would react.

They turned to look at her and she tried to plaster on a  smile. But in truth, she couldn't deny the fact that she was nervous.

"Luna?" the woman at the front called out. She couldn't help but smirk as she looked towards her with a stare of uncertainty.

"What brings you here today?" She said to her as she took a look around the tent. There were several bunks and beds and she couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"Well, I just realized that I haven't been here often and I wanted to change that. I wanted to come and visit the kids and see how they were doing." She tried to explain to her.

She watched as she hummed at her in response as she nodded her head and offered her a warm smile in return.

She wasn't entirely sure what the smile meant but she would take it.

"Well this is new. We don't particularly have a lot of visitors. But what would you like to do today, we could have a bit of fun". She suggested and she nodded her head.

"Maybe  we could go out to the  front  and  get some  sun ." She shifted. She watched as she looked at her hesitant. She didn't know what exactly it was that she had gone strong but she was relieved when the face burst into a smile once more.

"Well, you are going to have to change that. Today we are going to the park  and it is time we show the park that with me here things are bound to change." She said.

She was going to rebuild the pack and that was a vow. She was going to take care of it the way that she wasn't able to do so for her pack.
