Chapter 14: Introduction of Artia

-Took us 14 chapters to just get here, but we're here-

-Some novels take even longer to get to the kingdom- Siege noted

-14 is alright- Ace added

|Guys, seriously, these broken walls don't pay themselves|

-Ok I definitely heard something, I have enhanced hearing thanks to Ace, and I can definitely say I heard something this time- I said trying to listen to the unknown voice

-It's the same pathetic voice- Dabria commented

| That hurts, I have feelings too |

-Yeah it is pathetic, isn't it? - Ace agreed

-I pity the pathetic voice- Siege snorted

| You could have just left out the pathetic part |

It was then our turn for inspection.

"You got weapons?" A male knight asked

"Yes, here's our license" my mom and dad took out adventurers licenses

-So adventurer license can also act as a hunting license?-

-That's how this world works, even though your parents are retired from being adventurers, they can use those license to be able to hold weapons in a kingdom- Dabria answered

"Time for the pat down and magic inspection" A female knight told us

We then got pat down just in case we got any other magic items we haven't told them and they use magic inspection to make sure we don't carry any other harmful substances

"Well you're clear, You can head in now"

-The story 'That time I got struck by lightning and got reincarnated into a fantasy world alongside a self-proclaimed best and most beautiful goddess of death' can finally start-

-What kind of title is that? I doubt there's any story with a title as long as that- Dabria scolded

-There's longer ones- Siege commented

-Are you serious?-

-I don't lie- Siege replied

"We are at the outskirt of the city, this is Baron Golds territory" John said

-A baron, the lowest nobility ranking, if it's like any cliché, he's either super desperate for a higher rank or he's a really nice person which gives us an opportunity for us to exploit him-

-Yep, we should think of a plan for either of those situations, we can either kill him for money for exploit him for opportunities to get rich, either way, it's a win-win - Ace proposed

-Seems like a good plan- Siege agreed

-Why me?- Dabria sighed for like the 2nd time today -Well this is what I get when I wanted to see what you'd do with a 2nd chance at life-

"I heard from the knights that his son is super talented, he started learning magic at the age of 4, a mage with affinity towards every kind of magic" John continued

I got a weird tingling sensation I've never experienced before. What if this is the world's way of saying that this other noble child is the other reincarnate?

"Well we also got a genius of our own" Dad said interrupting my thought

"Axel, we don't want people to know that so keep it down" mom scolded

"Sorry Mary"

We then went to a healer who were old acquaintances with John. And we got him to heal Siege missing leg.

-I can finally walk again, it will take a while to get back into shape- Siege said with a happy tone as he then walked to my right

"I can't find anything wrong with him, his head most probably have no pigments to make them have color" The healer said

"It's alright Henry, we just wanted confirmation to make sure he's alright" John replied

"You been gone a couple years and you already got a wife congrats"

"Um no-" John coughed blushing "We haven't married yet"

"When will you guys have children?" I asked

-You never change- Dabria mumbled

"You guys are so lovey dovey all the time, sometimes it's very hard to look at you guys" I continued

Olivia and John blushed even harder.

"Haven't experienced this from you in a while" Olivia commented while her face was red

After all the teasing, we were done with the healing of Siege so we went to find an inn to stay since we are staying here for a while. John and Olivia went off to buy something, so me and my parent went to explore Artia, they took me to a lot of places and then we ended the day by going to this empty colosseum.

"Why are we here? It is empty" I asked

"Tomorrow we'll come here and show you how students get picked for an academy, after passing the written exam, there will be 7 days and hundreds of magic battles, people will battle in several matches to impress the academy's representatives, and those magic academy will offer a seat to the person who impresses them" my dad explained

"What if you lose?"

"Doesn't matter. As long as you impress them, though if you win 10 battles in a row in those 7 days, you will get to pick an academy of your choice even if no one offer you a seat"

"Oh so you just have to wish that you'll get easy opponents then"

"You wish, the first 9 is picked at random but the 10th one will be a student from one of the academies, they are much stronger than your fellow test takers"

"Isn't that unfair?"

"Not really, a few people have done it before, usually they are geniuses like you, besides they'll send only the new 2nd years who just got promoted from the first years, it definitely is hard, but not impossible"

"Do they have a requirement for the color of your cores and an age requirement?"

"Well, you must be at 12 to 16 years old and a dark yellow, but you already passed that part, besides most people who participate are 95% are 14 "

"Can I use enchanted equipments?"

"1 weapon, 1 armor and 1 accessory, they can be either enchanted or not enchanted and D-grade at most"

"Wouldn't not using magic equipment impress them more?"

"Wealth is considered a part of one's talent"

"Last question, which academy did you guys go to?"

"None, we didn't pass, John did got an offer but he rejected it to come be an adventurer with me, and I met your mother along the way"

"Don't worry about the money and equipments, we saved enough money for you to afford them" Mom said reassuring me "In 6 years, all you gotta do is pass"

-We're bound to meet some rude nobles during that test in 6 years, tch and with our luck, we will definitely meet the other reincarnate here- I said

-He could be born in another kingdom, you'd never know- Dabria suggested

-No, my luck of the protagonist will make me meet him here, but even if I don't, we still have to deal with some stuck up nobles-

-Too bad we can't kill them- Ace grumbled

-We can always kill them afterward, I can use 'Presence' and get away unnoticed- Siege suggested

-I'll keep that in mind- I answered

-Don't- Dabria retorted

After that, we head back to the inn, John and Olivia got us a table for dinner.

"What's in the package?" dad asked pointing at a package in between John and Olivia

"It's a surprise" he answered "Did you take him to the stadium today?"

"Yes"

"They changed the rule a bit, now you have a bond to help you, it will be consider as accessory, it's to find talented tamers"

-I'm not an accessory- Siege argued

-Of course not, you are our resident snow wolf and Ace is our resident cat-

-Thank you- Ace and Siege say in Unison

"And now you don't have to do the 10 battle rule, you can do the 1 battle option, but you have to fight a 3rd year or above."

"That's basically suicide" my mom commented

"Well your goal is to impress after all not to win, besides you're allowed to get physical this time, but it can only be physical attacks that is used with magic like a fire punch"

"Should be easier this time" my dad said

"No, now even if you win the 10 battles, you no longer get to choose, your goal is to purely impress, you will all be graded during the fights, there will be rankings, only the top 10 can freely choose, while the top 5 get some prizes like magic items and money"

"Well we just gotta train him to get strong enough then, we have 4 years, besides if he fail the first time, he can try again, it's up to 16 years old after all, and if he still fail which I doubt, he can become a strong adventurer, either way his future is still bright" Dad said with a smile

"Tomorrow, we should hit the adventurer guild to get an identification card since we don't want a citizen card from the kingdom. Then we'll spend the next several days to watch the test" John suggested

"Sounds good to me, now let's eat before the food gets cold" Olivia chimed in

We all ate and slept for the day. The next day, we got me an identification card from the guild. We then headed for the coliseum and on the way, we hear some people say that the baron's prodigy son is going to be there.

-I have a bad feeling that with my luck, it's going to be the reincarnate-

-You're over exaggerating- Dabria retorted

We got to the coliseum and we saw people pointing at a group of people, it was a noble and his child surrounded by knights. The noble is a semi large man with light pink hair and blue eyes, while the child also has light pink hair but he has eyes green like an emerald.

"That's the genius"

"Yeah, I heard he learned magic at the age of 4, and some say he will even reach the grey stage in the future"

"Really?"

This is so cliché, why do these people whisper so loudly. The noble's son then turn to my direction. There was this spark that I felt in my brain.

-I stand corrected, he IS the other reincarnate- Dabria admitted -That's the aura of a god on him-

-Wow you were right Perseus, your protagonist intuition is never wrong- Ace complimented

-Why are you so quiet? Are you that shocked to see another reincarnate?- Siege asked

It took me a while to answer back.

-He has light pink hair and no one is questioning it, but all I get is stares, I mean I don't need to be a genius to know that everyone is looking at my white hair-

"Look at that kid's hair, must have gotten some incurable disease, white hair at such a young age"

"Poor kid"

-That's what you're concerned about?- Dabria sighed

-Don't worry, even if it's weird, you are still my number 1- Ace comforted me

-Just deal with it- Siege said nonchalantly
