Chapter 2: Emotions

I leveled up three times from that one kill? interesting.

[+5 has been added as a bonus reward for victory in battle]

[A title has been added "Prodigy" for being the youngest in history to get to level 10!]

[You will now see because of this Title, you will learn and devlop much faster than others around you.]

[Now adding an upgrade to my system..]

I anticipate that with the additional skill points I have been granted, I will be significantly more powerful than I was before. Beyond that, it appears that each title I have attained provides particular advantages and additional capabilities, which is really impressive. But, what is the purpose of the system upgrade?

[Sucessfully upgraded!]

[Intelligence II has been added to the system..]

I pondered, "What does intelligence mean? Does the system give extra information?" as I rubbed my chin.

Suddenly, a woman's voice could be heard saying, "Yes, and there's even more."

I was taken aback by the sudden sound and jumped back a few meters. "Who's there?!" I shouted out, regaining my composure.

The voice spoke in a cheerful yet robotic demeanor, announcing, "I am System, your source for all the information you need!" Its words were devoid of emotion, yet still attempted to be welcoming.

I was taken aback as I asked, "W-Wait, are you saying that you are the system that has been supplying me with my updates and details all this while?"

"Yes" She responded.

Essentially, the intelligence upgrade only improved its ability to communicate. I pondered if there could be more to it. Could it provide insight into my past and how I died? This possibility filled me with enthusiasm and I was eager to pose the question.

I questioned eagerly if the system had any knowledge of how I had perished and why I had no recollection of my past. "System, do you have any idea how I came to be? How I died?

"My responsibility to you as your personal System is to accompany you through this life and aid you in any way I can. I have no knowledge of how you passed away or why your memories have been lost."

"I see, how disappointing." My enthusiasm faded and I was no longer looking forward to what I had been expecting.

"I'm sorry for disappointing you." It said.

I should consider coming up with a few appellations for the System and put the idea of discovering my past life on hold for the moment. I can't continue referring to it as "that" and "System", it feels akward.

"Soo, What do you think will be a suitable name for you?"

"Whatever name you desire."

"Well that helps alot..", I said scarcastically.

I figured something straightforward would work best, because I'm not a big fan of complicated titles. Layla? No, that's too plain for me. Aki? That just sounds like a guy's name. I soon realized how bad I am at coming up with names.

"Aha, I got the perfect name for you. What do you think about the name Athena?"

The name Athena, the deity of remarkable wisdom and intelligence, is an appropriate moniker. "Thank you," the voice uttered with appreciation.

Was that some emotion in her voice I heard? Who am I kidding.
