The interior of the house was comprised of a single bedroom, kitchen, and a tiny living area. Despite the obvious age of the house, it was evident that my mom had put in a lot of effort in order to keep it in a neat and tidy state.
She murmured softly to me, "This is the place where we are going to spend our time together Tomo." Her embrace was so comforting, how can someone be this calming? I was mesmerized by the serenity in her gaze. I was in awe of her composure and peacefulness.
The atmosphere changed all so abruptly, becoming chilly and darker as the sun set. My mother put me down on the bed quickly and rushed to the center of the room. Her mouth began to move as if she was chanting something.
"The God Vulcan to bestow upon her the power to create fire to illuminate her house and shield her from the darkness that follows the night sky." Each syllable was uttered with reverence and authority
A sudden flame shot up out of my mother's palm and into the air. Despite its intense heat, it did not cause any damage to the house.
"Was this magic?" I thought.
She saw me staring at her curiously to which she smiled and remarked, "I was not gifted with that much mana, from that one singular incantation my body feels exhausted."
So it might seem the reason I was born without mana was because my mother also suffered a similar circumstance? Or perhaps there is another unexplainable reason
"You must be hungry."
She snuggled up with me on the bed and embraced me tightly in her arms.
"Drink my child"
After much hesitation, I eventually gave in and drank the breast milk. It was unpleasant, but it still diminished some of my hunger after the strenuous process of Transmigration.
I'm still perplexed about that situation at this moment. It's not essential to dwell on it right now, I'll give it more thought at a later time.
