Sacrifice, and a New Life?

All was silent for one Narumi Uzumaki Namikaze, she'd done it, she'd saved the world from the madness of Kaguya. But was it worth it? Would she get to celebrate her achievement with her friends and family? No. She was about to suffer alone in the pit of the God of Death's stomach for eternity. She wouldn't even have the comfort of knowing her father is there as he had been freed by the snake sannin Orochimaru, along with her grandfather figure Hiruzen Sarutobi to fight in the 4th ninja war.

She was interrupted from her thoughts when a gray light flashed in her vision, causing her to close her eyes, "Another brave and selfless fool has sacrificed their afterlife to save others." A raspy and rigid voice off to her left spoke.

Before it could speak further, another light entered her vision, so bright it hurt her eyes even while they were closed. She recognized the color as gold. "I apologize brother, but I won't let you have this one's soul." The newcomer spoke, their voice feminine while sounding like a soft lullaby that immediately soothed her worries.

"But sister, she willingly gave her soul to me." she heard what must have been Death argue.

"Don't you think it's a pity?" The woman began, ignoring Death, "A soul as bright and free as this one being sealed away for eternity." She said, and was met with a long silence from Death. "That's why I wish to send her to a new world so she may live a better life, with some bonuses for her sacrifice."

Death remained silent for another long agonizing moment, to the point that Narumi thought he'd left, that was until he spoke. "But what about the debt I am owed?" He asked, "Her soul was given to me to seal Kaguya, a thorn in both of our sides, without her soul the deal would be incomplete, meaning by the law we set eons ago, Kaguya would have to be set free."

Another pause entered the space they were in, before the woman spoke, "There's a simple solution. We bind Kaguya to the girl, making her her servant in this new world."

"But sister, that'd be blatant favoritism, not to mention nearly breaking a law." Death retorted.

"I'm the Goddess of Light, it's within my divine right to have favorites." Light declared.

"...and about that law?" Death asked, but he sounded defeated.

"It's not broken so who cares!" Light exclaimed in a cherry tone.

Narumi swore she heard Death mutter something about, "Insane Sister's" before he spoke again. "Fine! Take both their souls!"

"Yes!" Light cheered, and Narumi swore she heard the Goddess jumping up and down even though she knew they had to be floating.

Once the Goddess had stopped celebrating, Narumi felt herself be grabbed by in unseen force and her consciousness faded.

xxx Unknown Location xxx

Narumi woke to the feeling of something soft yet itchy beneath her, sitting up, she recognized it as grass, looking around she found herself in a gorgeous garden of flowers and trees, with a few examples being roses and cherry blossoms, turning to her left she found a woman sitting on a bench sipping a beverage of some kind.

She was otherworldly beautiful, with silky golden locks that flowed down to her shapely rear, her captivating orange eyes stared at her with a gentleness she'd never seen before. Her b-cup breasts were hidden beneath a white dress that went to just below her knees, she had on gold shin-length sandals, while two identical gold bracelets adorned her wrists, a golden circlet rested on her head, a bright orange gem in the center.

"Where am I?" She asked the woman, who grinned in response.

"My garden." Was her simple reply.

"But what about Death? I heard the whole conversation you two had earlier."

"Ah yes, we were aware of your consciousness, we deemed it okay as it would make explaining your situation easier."

Narumi was confused for a second, before the memories rushed to the forefront of her mind. "I'm really going to a new world?"

"Yes my dear, and I'm going to give you a brief explanation on how the world works." with that the Goddess cleared her throat, before entering what could only be called lecture mode. "This world is a world where levels and stats actually exist, along with magic and other things.

In another world called "Earth", the world is nothing more than a game called "Leadale" this is due to them being parallel world's, the reason the people of Earth knew of Leadale's existence is because of an event where a human's consciousness entered the world of Leadale briefly and decided to make what he saw into a game, however, he unknowingly created a link between the two, allowing the "Players" to unknowingly enter the world as their "Avatars" and influence the world at large." Light paused and looked at Narumi, who had been listening wide eyed.

"So the world I'm going to is a world where people from another world called Earth have entered as players?" Narumi asked.

"Yes, but there's more, 200 years ago, a player by the name of Keina, died while playing the game in the hospital, her consciousness then entered the subconscious of her avatar, also known as Cayna, and remained dormant until recently. However, her death had consequences, as it was the cause of the opening of a rift between the world's, bringing people's consciousness' into the world at random points in time until the people in the world known as Earth shutdown the game after the disappearances became noticeable. This destroyed the link, but it was too late as some people had already been transferred to their avatars."

"Woah." Narumi said, before a pensive look crossed her face, "How am I supposed to fit in? The people you call players would call me out for not belonging the moment they see me."

"That's easy, I will place false memories into all of their minds of your identity and make you a member of the same group that Cayna belongs to, a guild called "Cream Cheese" if memory serves correctly."

"What about me? Will you alter my memory as well?"

"Yes, I will give you the knowledge you'd need of this world, as well as important events in the social life of your guild members. Now, about your identity, you can either keep your old name, or I could give you a new one as a mark of this being your new life."

Narumi looked at the ground for a moment, the chance to be given a name by a Goddess was one she knew she wouldn't pass up, but she felt attached to her old name, as it was the name her parents chose. "Can I keep my old name in some way?"

Light crossed her arms in thought, before speaking, "Yes, I can make it to where your name on Earth was Narumi, but it wouldn't matter much in the world of Leadale."

"That's fine, at least I get to keep it in some manner, plus my guild members would know it right?"

Light nodded, "Some would." She then chuckled, but stopped when she saw the confusion on Narumi's face, "Sorry, I was just chuckling at how easy you're taking this."

A blank look crossed Narumi's face, "You've seen my life up until now."

"True." Light chuckled once more, before becoming serious, "Now, for a name…" The Goddess mused, crossing her arms over her chest in thought, she eventually snapped her head up with a large smile, "Reina! And your nickname among the populace will be… "The Black Winged Witch" due to you using black wings to fly." The Goddess accentuated this with a snap of her fingers.

Narumi blinked, "Isn't that kinda cheesy?"

"I think it's cool…" an awkward pause settled over the pair, before the Goddess spoke again, clapping her hands in the process, "Now, what race do you want to be? There's Human's, Elves, Dragoid's, Demons, and Dwarves."

"I can be an Elf?" Narumi asked, she'd read about Elves in some fiction books during her more lonely days.

"Yes, there's two types, normal elves, and high elves who are treated as royalty. Which one do you want?"

"I lived most of my life poor and scorned, so I'd like for this new one to be different, so I want to be a high elf."

"Done. Now there's one more thing I'm sure you're aware of…"

"Kaguya…" Narumi growled.

"Yes, due to laws we set eons ago, she cannot be sealed, so instead, we're gonna bind her to you as your maid, and as punishment for her crimes, erase her memories."

Narumi's eyes widened, "What!"

"Well, if she kept her memories, she'd not only be a hassle to control, but eventually a broken husk as her life's purpose was stripped from her, and the fact she has a strong will would make things worse as it would be nearly impossible to convert her to a more safe way of thinking, and even though that would be a punishment in itself, I'm not cruel. Plus, this is a new start for both of you, and what better way to start fresh than losing your memories?"

"So, I'm just supposed to forget what she did,  because she did?" Narumi asked.

"No, never. In fact, I'm making what she did a real event in the world of Leadale, though altered to fit the world, it'll add more credibility to your story, with her being your maid the result of your battle which cost her memories. Officially, you took her as a maid after the battle."

"Never had a maid before… wait, if she's losing her memories, why aren't I?"

"I assumed you wanted to keep yours, as your old memories would help you adjust better to the world, and losing them would mean losing some of the techniques you created and learned in your past life. Which will work to some extent, but you'll have to figure that out for yourself."

"Okay… I guess that makes sense, can't wait to test the Rasengan." Narumi said, excited.

"Oh, and don't worry, Kaguya will have memories after she became your maid, so it won't be like you're meeting for the first time." Light added.

"That's good… hey, I know this is a weird question, but what race would she be?"

"A demon." Was Light's simple response.

"I see, what about Kurama and his siblings?"

"They'll return to your previous world. Why? Do you wish to take them with you?" Light asked.

Narumi nodded.

"I see, that would be tricky, as the only method that would work with the world's rules is if they were your summons, plus you can only bring three, and they'd have to agree to go willingly."

"Can we ask them?" Narumi asked in a quiet tone.

"Sure." With that all nine tailed beasts appeared.

"Lady Light! What can we do for you?" Son Goku the four tailed monkey asked.

"I have decided to give young Narumi here a new life and she wishes to take three of you, who are willing, with her." Light explained.

"Really?" asked Matatabi, the two tailed cat.

"Yes, however, the catch is you'd become her summons and will fight with her when required. Don't worry though, you won't be forced into a separate realm, as those are slowly disappearing. You will be shrunken to more convenient forms and will stay with her the majority of the time."

"I don't like the idea of being small, but I've been with the brat for 16 years, so what's another lifetime?" Spoke Kurama the nine tailed fox, while he looked away.

"I'll go!" Kokuo the five tailed dolphin-horse hybrid exclaimed.

"Me too!" Matatabi called out, "I'd love to get my paws dirty in a new world."

"Well, that's three, sorry to the rest of you but I can't send anymore with her."

"No worries, Lady Light." Chomei the seven tailed beetle said.

"Yeah, I prefer the sand in my home world anyway." Shukaku, the one tailed tanuki said.

Light looked around at the tailed beasts who she was sending back to the world of Elementia. "It's time to send you guys back, and don't worry, I will place seals on you to prevent any attempts at sealing you again."

With that the tailed beasts shimmered and vanished, Light then looked at Narumi, Kurama, Matabi, and Kokuo. "Are you guys ready to go?" after four nods she continued, "You will awaken close the Cayna's location, but I suggest waiting a bit before approaching her as she's currently at her guardian's tower." A look of realization crossed Light's face. "Oh my, I forgot about your guardian!" She exclaimed with her hand over mouth.

"What?" Narumi asked.

"Your guardian. All members of the guild had a base with a guardian to guard it…" she then looked at Narumi, "What would you want your base to look like and what kind of guardian do you want?"

Narumi crossed her arms and looked down in thought, "Maybe a castle with a vampire princess guarding it?"

"That's oddly specific…" Light remarked with Narumi glowering at her.

"A girl can have an imagination." Narumi defended herself.

"That you can, now what style do you want the castle in? I think Victorian style would match with the vampire."

"Victorian? What's that?" Narumi asked.

"I'll show you." Images of different castle's flashed through Narumi's mine.

"Oh, cool! I'll go with that!" Narumi said.

"Done." Light made a gesture as if she was wiping sweat from her brow, "That could have been catastrophic. Now, let's send you to your new world, enjoy your new life!" With that Narumi's consciousness faded once again.

xxx 5 miles from Cayna's location xxx

Reina's gold eyes opened before immediately shutting after being blasted by a beam of sunlight, sitting up, her hand blocking the sun from her eyes, she surveyed her surroundings and quickly saw that she was in a clearing and to her left lay Kaguya, with her long white hair as usual, but she was wearing a maid outfit that caused Reina to suppress a snort at the absurdity of this insanely powerful woman dressing like a stereotypical maid.

To her right lay what must be the three tailed beast's that came with her, except they were all small and adorable, she made a mental note not to mention it to Kurama's face as he'd get angry about being called adorable or cute.

She turned her attention back to her hand and noticed that she had a ring on her middle finger, she wondered what it was and a floating box appeared above it with its label, description, and abilities. She would have jumped in fright if it wasn't for the memories the Goddess gave her, allowing her to read what it was.

Guardian Ring #5

This ring belongs to Reina, who became the 5th Skill Master. Restricted to skill master title, chanting the keyword activates instantaneous movement to your previously set base.

Keyword: O guardians of this turbulent world! Save this corrupted world from chaos!

Reina raised an eyebrow at the keyword, but shrugged it off and looked to her left hand and saw another ring on her index finger, looking at it another box appeared.

The Silver Ring

A special piece of equipment granted to those who earn the ''Skill Master'' title.

Effect:

A passive Defensive Magic Barrier

A boost in all Magic Abilities

A unique item with Stats that are boosted when equipped by someone with the ''Skill Master'' Title.

She grinned at that one, as it would prove to be useful. She then looked at her clothes and found herself in a sleeveless white button-up shirt, with a yellow bow tie wrapped loosely around the collar, underneath a black trench coat that flared out at the bottom, it was split by a notch at the back, its insides were midnight purple, she wore a midnight purple skirt with a puffy white trim, she had on midnight purple leggings that were tucked into witch-style boots. They were midnight purple, the tips pointing upwards, while the top that wrapped around above her shins was folded down to her ankles, revealing its yellow insides, it had a notch in the front, a small yellow button sat just below the notch, the bottom of the boots were midnight purple. All in all, she liked the outfit, though she wished it had a little orange in it.

Curious about what else she had she thought about her item box and another floating box appeared and she began scrolling through the things the Goddess gave her, she found a large Victorian style mirror and mentally wondered why it was in her item box and why it was so large.

Shrugging, she pulled it from the item box and had to jump back slightly when it landed on the grass with a thud, cursing under her breath she stood in front of the mirror and blinked, then blinked again, then she blinked multiple times before she felt a scream build in her chest, "Whaaaaaaaaaat!" She yelled before grabbing her new face, pushing and prodding it.

She was no longer Narumi Uzumaki Namikaze, she was now Reina, The Black Winged Witch. It was surreal, gone were the whisker marks, replaced with smooth gorgeous cheeks, her deep blue eyes were a thing of the past, replaced with golden orbs that would captivate anybody, her blonde hair? Gone! In its place were beautiful silver locks that cascaded down her back before ending just above her knees, looking at it she found that her back was nearly unseeable, due to her hair covering it. Looking back at the mirror, she found A black stereotypical Witch hat rested on her head, matting down her hair. Looking at her back again, she found two folded black, feathered wings.

She knew they were the cause of her moniker, but she still felt it was cheesy, especially with her knowledge of the game telling her that these wings were originally an accessory that became real the moment she'd awoken. She was broken from her observations by a groan from behind her, turning, she saw that Kaguya was getting up.

"Lady Reina…" the demoness said, her hand on her head, "I feel like I have a hangover."

Reina chuckled, "That's because you do." It was true, the moment Kaguya mentioned a hangover a memory flashed into her mind revealing the events of the night prior. "We should return to the village, I'm sure the lady at the inn we're staying in is getting worried about our prolonged absence." Reina didn't entirely know how she said all that without fumbling once, but she chalked it up to the memories aiding her.

"Yes, my Lady, we should." Kaguya shook her head one final time in an attempt to remove the hangover, before she smoothed out her maid outfit, she looked at Reina and saw the mirror, "Admiring your beauty again?" She asked.

"Na-no!" Reina blushed, embarrassed, immediately putting the mirror back into her item box.

"Why are you embarrassed, your beauty was praised even among the other high elves we met, remember?" Kaguya asked.

"Sh-Shut up." Reina said, her embarrassment increasing when the memories of those elf men and women praising her flashed involuntarily through her mind. She didn't ask to be gorgeous dammit!

"Yes, my Lady." Kaguya said, but a smirk could be seen on her gorgeous face.

"Besides, you're more gorgeous than I am!" Reina declared, pointing her finger at Kaguya as if she's won.

"That's not what that village that held a beauty contest said, if I remember correctly the man in charge practically kidnapped you so you would participate." Kaguya shot back, causing Reinas pointy ears to sag in defeat.

"You win, you win… Now, help me collect them." She said while pointing at the still sleeping forms of Kurama, Matatabi, and Kokuo.

"Yes, My Lady." Kaguya then proceeded to pick up both Matatabi and Kokuo, while Reina picked up Kurama, who was slightly larger than the other two. "Shall we go?" Kaguya asked, getting a nod from Reina.

xxx Inn in Town xxx

Reina and Kaguya entered the inn and proceeded upstairs to their room where they promptly dumped the three animals onto a bed so they could continue sleeping. Once done, they headed back downstairs and sat at the bar when a child's voice rang from behind them.

"Miss Reina! Miss Kaguya! Where'd you two go last night?"

Reina turned and saw that it was Lytt, the daughter of the inn's owner. "Hey Lytt, we kinda got lost in the woods while drunk and slept there."

"Really? I guess the party we had last night was pretty wild." a Mature voice spoke.

Reina turned and found Marelle, Lytt's mother and owner of the inn, "Hey Marelle, yeah that party was kinda wild." She then took on a thoughtful expression, "Didn't another high elf rent a room here?"

"Yes, in fact she slept through the whole party and only woke up this morning."

"Where's she at now, I'd like to meet her." Reina said, with her hand on her chin.

"Oh, you just missed her, she went out to gather herbs a while ago."

"Damn, well guess I'll wait." Reina said before laying her head on the counter, she looked over and saw that Kaguya had her hand to her head, seemingly nursing the hangover still. "Marelle, do you have a glass of water? It seems Kaguya's hangover is still affecting her."

"Why of course." Marelle said, disappearing into the back only to re-emerge with a glass of water, "Here ya go!" She remarked, setting the cup down in front of Kaguya who graciously took it, offering her thanks as she drank it.

Reina started up a conversation with Luine, Marella's eldest daughter and before she knew it, hours had passed and it was a few hours past noon, she was distracted from her conversation by a meow, looking down she saw Matatabi sitting while looking up at her.

She first wondered why she didn't speak, then she remembered where they were, a talking cat would be weird here. Bending down, she scooped up the feline, who promptly made herself comfortable in her lap. One thing she noticed about the tailed beasts is their forms had changed and became more animal-like, whereas before Matatabi was covered in blue flames, now she's just a blue furred cat.

"Aww, She's adorable!" Reina heard Luine coo, she looked up while absent mindedly stroking Matatabi, who began to pur softly.

"Thanks, she's been with me for a while."

"What breed?" Luine asked.

Reina looked down at the cat in her lap, who opened her mismatched eyes to gaze back, "She's a Nekomata."

"She's a mythical cat!?" Luine asked, shocked.

"Yes, she's one of my summons, but like the other two I prefer to keep them with me whenever possible." Reina mentally thanked the Goddess for giving the three tailed beasts accurate backstories.

"That's so cool!" Lytt exclaimed, before a commotion was heard outside, curious, the trio exited the inn, closely followed by Marelle who must have heard it too.

Once outside they saw a large horned bear laying dead in the center of a crowd of people, closer inspection revealed a high elf in the center as well being questioned by the people, Reina immediately recognized her as Cayna, the person the Goddess told her was here. Her memories showed that the two were close friends and even on first name bases in the real world, while their avatars were siblings. The memories felt real, but Reina knew they weren't… she quickly forced those thoughts away and approached Cayna.

"Cayna?" She questioned, getting an instant reaction from the woman, who's head snapped in her direction, eyes wide with hope.

"Ra-Reina?" Cayna questioned, stepping past the people until she stood in front of Reina, who was still holding Matatabi. "Silver hair, gold eyes, gorgeous face, adorable cat summon… It is you!" Cayna cheered, enveloping Reina in a tight hug, squeezing Matatabi between the two, who proceeded to use her paw to "tap out" on Reina's arm.

Reina felt her eyebrow twitch at the gorgeous comment, but suppressed her slight annoyance and returned the hug, repositioning Matatabi so she could breathe, much to said cat's relief. "It's good to see you!" She said, getting a nod from the woman still hugging her.

Cayna pulled back, "You too. Huh?" She asked, Reina knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Yeah, but we should discuss this more inside" Reina said and was about to turn to go inside, when a man stepped up and held out a small barrel of wine.

"Wine?" He offered.

"It smells sweet!" Cayna commented.

"You've never had wine before?" The man asked.

"Even though you've been alive for more than 200 years?" Luine asked.

"I didn't have many opportunities to drink." Cayna said, a little downcast.

Reina threw an arm around her shoulder, "One wouldn't hurt, just drink in moderation."

Cayna nodded, thankful her friend/sister had interrupted her sad thoughts and looked to everyone who was looking at her.

"Well, let's have a toast! Cayna, you're the star tonight, so you get to lead us in this toast!" Marelle said with an encouraging smile

"Right…" Cayna began, looking at the wine in her hands, "To new encounters!" She cheered, with the people following, she then took a sip of the wine before it was snatched by Reina. "Ra-Reina!" She cried out in indignation.

"Sorry, sis, but you're inexperienced when it comes to wine, so I'll share your burden." Reina then sipped the wine before handing it back to Cayna.

The two traded the wine back and forth until they were both plastered. With Rayna leaning on Cayna talking about past journeys the pair had together.

That's when Kaguya approached. "It appears my mistress has drunk herself stupid along with Lady Cayna, I shall take her to bed." She then hefted the teetering woman onto her back before she looked at Marelle, "I trust you can handle Lady Cayna?" She got a nod, so she entered the inn while Reina mumbled gibberish. The pair were followed by Matatabi, who'd spent most of the party with Luine and Lytt.

Once in their shared room, Kaguya laid Reina down and covered her with the blanket, she watched as Matatabi curled up next to Reina while Kokuo and Kurama laid at the foot of her bed where the two had been for most of the day, Kurama's head moving to rest on her right foot.

Turning around she slowly got into her bed and was about to sleep when Reina's alcohol influenced voice echoed in the room, "Goodnight."

Kaguya smiled, "Goodnight, Lady Reina." She called back, before closing her eyes and falling asleep.
