Xavier [ IV ]

"You are wasting my time!" Phantom barked, glaring daggers at Xavier who seem to be in a moment of daze as he keeps staring at empty air.

Xavier, hearing Phantom's voice, shivered as he turned to face him, he was surprised that time has started to move at its normal pace even though he already expected it.

'I just need two and a half hours before the reality changes,' he pondered.

'Lucky me, it appears he can't see the system prompts but would it be patient for the time if it would take for reality to change?' he panicked.

"Give me some time to think, please," Xavier pleaded in a move to buy more time.

Phantom observed this punny human who somehow got his hands on a power that made other higher beings like himself jealous. In his mind, he wondered why the human refused to let go of his author class.

"Fine I'll give you more time, but make the right choices or else.."

Phantom didn't continue his threat after that, to him, Xavier was already out of options. No human can scheme against a higher being, not even one with the power to change reality can make that happen without appropriate powers.

'Once I get my hands on that power, I'll rewrite my position in the heavenly ranking and become second only to the grand creator, hahaha!' Sinister thoughts appeared in the mind of Phantom, its glowing red eyes darted in different directions excitedly.

On the other hand, Xavier pretended to be in deep thoughts. He placed his hand on his chin in a contemplating manner and frequently muttered strange words that made him appear really conflicting.

'I've taken acting class once when I was bored, my acting might but not be good but it should be enough to fool someone who is clouded by greed,'

Time passed slowly in the dark space which flowed calmly despite the chaotic atmosphere within it.

Xavier's side eye observed the countdown and an ecstatic smile appeared on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" Phantom asked with a frown.

"Have you finally made your conclusion to give me the author class?" He asked.

But Xavier didn't reply, instead he looked at Phantom with no amount of fear in his eyes, only caution as he waited for the new reality to finalize.

"Wouldn't you like to witness a human dance in front of you?" Xavier asked.

"What sort of nonsense are you talking about? Do you take me for a joke?" Phantom glared at the punny human. Which heavenly being would want to watch a human dance in exchange for something as precious as rebirth?

[ Augmenting new reality... 99.9% ]

"But you would like to see me dance? I have learned some cultural dances from different part of the world.. I can show you," Xavier continued, implementing his plan.

"You...." Phantom's voice thundered across the darkness causing the atmosphere to thicken but then..

[ Augmenting new reality... 100% ]

[ Reality changed successfully! ]

The tensed atmosphere in the dark space disappeared, replaced by a calm presence. The hateful eyes of Phantom became warm and his calm gaze focused on Xavier as a strong hint of curiosity appeared.

"Fine, dance for me,"

'It worked!'

'For the first time in ages, the reality change skill activated'

Xavier's mind wandered as he played his part in the script he prepared, he began to perform a dance he had seen on TikTok which was pretty simple to perform.

Phantom eyes fixated on Xavier's leg as he appeared to be drawn to them, he began to wonder how Xavier could move his leg like that.

'This human is interesting,' Phantom thought.

"What an amazing performance, truly deserving of the precious gift of rebirth," Phantom did not have hands, if not he would be clapping right now after witnessing such a 'heaven shocking' display of natural talent.

"Thank you!" Xavier replied, excitement evident in his voice.

"When am I going to be reborn?," he used the chance to ask the important question.

He didn't even bother to ask if his performance was good because he knew he had been able to fool Phantom by making his stupid display appear as something that deserves an award.

'The reality change is powerful, it is a combination of character hack, character control and other pretty exciting powers, no wonder I couldn't use it on earth,' Xavier pondered.

Meanwhile Phantom came to a conclusion.

"If it was within my power, I would have sent you to a world of choice but as a worker I can only send souls down the portal of rebirth, it is the job of karma to decide their fate afterwards," Phantom spoke as dark smoky mass released from his eyes.

The smoky mass began to form a portal ten meters ahead of Xavier.

"Nevertheless, I can't let you go without a gift with such a wonderful display of power, I will give you something that will be of aid to you in this new world,"

Saying this, a very dark mass like a ball of dark flames appeared out of nowhere and floated towards Xavier.

"What is this?" Xavier wondered but he wasn't scared.

He let the flame draw closer and reached for it, immediately he reached for it, the flames dispersed in the air and was absorbed greedily by his body.

[ REALITY CHANGE TOO POWERFUL, returning to normal ]

Xavier saw this prompt, the reality he has changed is about to fail.

Phantom eyes were staring at nothingness with confusion in them as it appears to be recovering.

"Shit!"

Xavier curses out loud and immediately begins sprinting towards the portal.

Without hesitating, he tossed his body into the portal which immediately swallowed him and dragged him into the void.

"Wait!!!"

Before Xavier was swallowed completely by the portal, he heard the frantic voice of Phantom and it didn't sound friendly at all.
