Studying

After reaching home, Mia ran up to her room, eager to take a shower.

Raven watched her go. He was tempted to join her, but decided against it.

He studied for the next day and started preparing for the maths tournament coming up the next week.

Thinking about the tournament, Raven pulled out the piece of paper and headed downstairs and gave it to his mother.

"Sign here." Raven said, dropping the pen next to the sheet.

Despite not reading anything, his mother signed the paper without giving it much thought.

"There you go. Good luck," she said.

Raven nodded.

"Thanks."

Raven reached down and picked up the paper before carefully putting it away. He would not look at it anymore.

After asking Vanessa to review the tournament rules, he could gain the confidence to believe that he could win.

Raven was about to head up to his room when his mother looked at him.

After a moment of contemplation, she voiced her opinion.

"Hey Raven, did you tell Mia about the tournament?"

Without saying a word, Raven simply shrugged his shoulders in response.

"No, but it's next week and she should know about it." He said before walking to his room.

Raven sat on his bed with Mia sitting next to him and playing a game on her phone.

"Do you know about the maths tournament?" Raven asked.

Mia stopped playing and turned to him.

"Oh, yeah. I heard about it." She said, "You going?"

Raven nodded.

"I forgot to tell you earlier."

Mia nodded.

"That's fine," she replied.

She then kissed him on the cheek.

"I'll be in Toronto for three days, though."

Mia fell silent and nodded her head.

She acknowledged that her self-centeredness should not stand in the way of his pursuing his interests.

"I'm going to take a shower," Raven said.

Mia nodded.

"I'll be in my room," she replied, kissing him.

After the shower, Mia returned to Raven's room.

She saw Raven wasn't there, so she looked through his desk for a moment before sitting on his bed.

"Oh, Raven," Mia thought, "You really are a nerd."

She couldn't help but recall all of those dense maths notes she couldn't even understand.

She curled her lips at the thought of it.

"I was expecting a porn magazine or something inappropriate, but it turned out I found something far worse."

She sighed and shook her head.

She heard Raven coming back. He had a towel wrapped around his waist.

Mia smiled as she saw his body. It was so hot.

Raven dropped his towel and grabbed some clothes.

Mia gulped at his body, her face turning red.

Raven looked over at her and chuckled.

"See something you like?"

"Uh... no!" Mia said, turning away.

Raven shrugged and laid on the bed, enjoying his after shower.

Mia tried to control her blush as she looked at Raven's naked body.

She bit her lips and looked away.

After getting dressed, Raven kissed Mia.

"Let's go downstairs."

Mia nodded and walked with Raven down to the living room where their parents were sitting on the couch, watching the TV.

"When's dinner?" Raven asked.

Their mother checked the time.

"Half an hour."

Raven nodded and sat down on the couch.

Mia sat down next to him as he turned on his phone.

After about five minutes, Mia moved closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder.

Raven looked down at her and smiled.

"Comfortable?" He asked.

Mia nodded.

"Very."

Raven placed an arm around her and pulled her closer.

"Then stay like that."

After finishing dinner, Raven and Mia cleaned up and went back to their rooms.

Raven's dedication to studying remained unwavering, even though he was already fully prepared.

Raven's knowledge is likely superior to that of the teachers at school.

The fear of being a failure in his heart makes him self-conscious about the possibility of getting a single question wrong.

After studying for two hours, he took a break and opened up his notebook.

Once he had scanned it, he was confident that he could complete the task by himself and wouldn't require any help from Vanessa.

Feeling that he had accomplished enough for the day, he called it quits, closing his notebook and heading to bed.

As soon as the sun rose, Raven was abruptly awakened by the sound of a loud crash and the shouts of Mia.

Casting his eyes around, he noticed Mia was lying on the ground with her phone grasped in her hand.

"Ow!" Mia groaned.

She was holding her head as she sat up.

Raven jumped out of bed and ran over to her.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

Mia nodded.

"Yeah, it's just a bruise." She said, showing him her left cheek.

Raven sighed.

"What happened?"

Mia blushed in embarrassment.

"I dropped my phone, and it landed on my face."

Raven couldn't help but feel a little shocked at her story.

"Really? You're that clumsy?"

Mia blushed and hit him.

"I'm not that clumsy!" She protested, "I'm just not a morning person."

Raven couldn't help but laugh.

"How can you not be a morning person when you wake up so early?"

"Shut up!" Mia shouted. "I'll get changed and we can head to school."

Raven nodded and sat back on the bed.

Raven spent a full hour studying and carefully packing his bag before finally making his way out to the living room, where he found their mother sitting and waiting for him.

"Ready to go?" She asked.

"Yeah," Raven said, "I'm heading out first."

Their mother nodded.

"See you later."

Raven and Mia left the house and began their journey to school by foot.

While walking towards the school, they discussed the upcoming math tournament and continued talking about it even after they arrived.

Raven sighed.

"I'm going to head to class," he said. "See you after class."

Mia nodded.

"Alright, I'll see you later."

Raven gave her a quick kiss before leaving.

Mia sighed dreamily and looked up at the sky as she walked into her class.
