Chapter 6- Thoughts, Rewards, and Summon

POV- Akira

My name is Yoshii Akira a B rank adventurer from City J. It's just another ordinary day and I was on my way home after completing a mission for the guild, that's when I saw a young man trying to enter the forest.

Base on his attire and the way he moves he is definitely someone who doesn't have any experience in fighting especially against monsters. There are many people who tries their luck in being an adventurer, but most of those kind of people meets their demise early on the game.

I called out to that young man to grab his attention." Hey you, stop right there."

After hearing what I said he immediately turned around, it seems like he was really surprised since he has this dazed look on his face. I tried asking what is his purpose in coming to this kind of place, and as expected he wanted to fight some monsters, even though his target is only a slime it's still dangerous.

Even though you can find slimes in the outskirts of the forest, it's not like there are no other monsters roaming about in that place. I decided to tag along with him just in case something unexpected happens.

He introduced himself as Ende Amamiya, and after that we begun our search for slimes. We made some small talk while doing so. When I told him my reason for being an adventurer and the fact that I'm looking for a lifepartner he actually nominated himself for the position, well that actually made my heart skip a beat, but I just dismissed him since a slime appeared right in front of us.

After looking at the slime Ende immediately prepared himself and pulled out a kitchen knife, that really caught me off-guard.

"Is that all you have? A kitchen knife?"

He was surprised when I ask him about his choice of weapon.

"Yes, a friend told me a kitchen knife is more than enough to defeat a slime though?"

Ende's friend,what in the world were you teaching to this friend of yours!? Even if it is possible to defeat a slime with a kitchen knife only those who have enough experience would try doing such thing! Stabbing it repeatedly!? Without the proper gear!

This is absurd! I tried calming myself and ask Ende another question.

" It seems like it was the right choice for me to tag along with you. Do you see that thing floating inside the slime" I tried asking him about the slime core, if he don't even know about it, then I'm going to have to stop this little adventure of his.

"That's a slime core right?"

Atleast he knows his basic knowledge when it comes to slimes. I gave him a few tips on how to deal with a slime, and after that he went and attacked the slime.

At first he was even being overwhelmed by the slime, though this is within my expections towards a beginner. After the first clash, he suddenly improved, it seems like he's the type to improve faster during real battles.

" Maybe this is why that friend of his wasn't really worried about him and told Ende to defeat a slime with a kitchen knife?"

Suddenly another surprise came afterwards.

" Hmmm...A skill to erase one's presence? But since it didn't really have any effect on me I guess it's a low rank skil."

I was slightly surprised when his prescence suddenly became small, but it's effect is really weak. It can probably only have effects toward thiose whobare weaker than him or those with low intelligence. After that he approached the slime and immediately closed the distance with I think another one of his skills and stabbed the slime core.

" This time a skill to instantaneously move huh, even though the range is somewhat short it can still be very useful."

Phew! It's finally over.

I approached and congratulated him for his victory, I also adviced him to join the guild as soon as possible so that he can team up with others.

He ask if we can team up after he registers, but sadly only those with similar ranks or a single difference in rank can partake in official missions. He looks dejected after hearing that so I tried cheering him up.

"If you really want to team up with me then get stronger and rank up fast, if you manage to do that then I might even consider your earlier proposal~~~"

I tried teasing him with his earlier proposal but it didn't have the effect that I wanted to see.

" I'll take your word for that, how about we head out now?"

It seems like he was really serious about that earlier proposal? My face suddenly went hot with how direct he is.

" Fu,fu,fu, allright let's get out of this place."

Hmm🎶Hmm🎶... I look forward to how this unexpected encounter will turn out to be~~~

POV Ende

After parting ways from Akira, I went directly to my home to check out everything that I obtained from the battle and mission. After going to my room I immediately opened my mission tab.

If you want to live as you please in this world, you need strength. Go to a nearby monster zone and defeat one slime.

Beginner's weapon of choice

When I tried focusing on the reward part of the mission a windom appeared prompting me to choose a type of weapon. There are many kinds from sword, spear, staves, sycthes, and there are even flintlocks(musket e.g) but no modern weapons.

"Lyra do you have any recommendation on what type of weapon I should choose?"

[A sword or staff would be an ideal weapon for beginners since they have a decent reach and much easier to use compared to other weapons but of course your preference should also be taken in consideration or you might not be able to use the weapon well enough and regarding the lack of modern weapons, it's because in this world magic and skills exist.

There are still gun-like weapons like magic pistols in this world but they are not that popular since they don't conduct mana that well compared to cold weapons. It's because magic pistols are composed of several small parts just like a modern pistol and this small parts cannot bear too much mana or else they would break turning the weapon useless.]

So complicated, or not? So a weapon of my preference huh? It would either be a spear or a sycthe. Both has long reach but I think a scythe would be way much more difficult to use compared to a spear. I focused on the image of a spear.

I opened my inventory to check the newly obtained weapon. It's an ebony-colored wooden spear, it doesn't have any decorations or anything, just a black wood with a very pointed tip. It's kind of a let down actually, I tried using appraisal on it. "[Appraisal]"

E+ rank...meaning I'm very weak, strong compared to a common man and weak compared to those at the top. I also tried checking out the shop but nothing caught my attention.

" I think it's about time I use my [Summon] skill."

[Do you have anyone in mind?]

"Yes, when I heard what kind of world I'll be sent to I've already made my decision."

A world compose of many other anime worlds, he didn't say which animeverse. That is why I'll summon someone that will help me get stronger and someone that can protect even against gods.

"So how do I use the skill?"

[Just think about the person you want to summon, and I'll handle the rest.]

"All right,then I leave everything in your care"

After saying that I focused on the person that I want to summon, after a few seconds I suddenly felt weak as bright light suddenly filled my vision, I closed my eyes and turned my head away from the dazzling light.

When the light subsided, an angel was floating right infront of me.

She smiled at me and said, "Nice to meet you master~~~"
