The Fallen Victors (4)

The desert dimension of Ja Sun was in a fast-paced battle as his claws suddenly struck one of the six flying blades before the seventh crimson ring shimmered and the said blade dispersed into steel-like leaves and then shot into Ja Sun individually. Each leaf grew in momentum as it added to the multiple scratches on his fur and hide while Xie Xan, cloaked with Ravage Raven Transformation came to stop and groaned.

His spirit soul, the Scatter Ghost Centipede gave Xie Xan a tremendous support with the seventh spirit ring as, aside from the True Spirit Avatar, the ring also gave him an ability that allowed him to disperse his moon blades into leaf-like substances. This skill seemed to be a mix of Jun'er's darkness displacement alongside Ja Sun's own feathers of freedom but the problem was that Xie Xan wasn't a destructive spirit master like Erlong.

He was more of a technician. His blades were made to deliver brutal shots but his skills were almost useless against Ja Sun even with his Asura Sight Technique, his eyeball external bone— Blind World, and even his most recent 100000-year-old bone, the Scatter Ghost Centipede Left Arm Bone that gave him one evasive and one offensive skill.

"Fuck, dude... this is pointless. Even Scatter Ghost is groaning inside my head," Xie Xan undid his ravage raven transformation, his body bruised, including his face but the injuries that included a busted nose barely made him flinch at this point.

Xie Xan was the cream of the crop. His Yin Core bolstered his Ravage Raven Transformation further and increased the ability to make the injuries from his blade last longer as evidenced by Ja Sun's unhealed scratches that won't heal based on his passive strength and recovery.

But Xie Xan was also the one who managed to come out from a 5-minute spar without breaking apart. It was mostly due to the evasive skill from his left-hand bone that allowed Xie Xan to turn his body into a concentration of leaves to dodge and escape any dangerous strike over his body but this technique wasn't without weaknesses. It could be used three times only and wasn't evasive to mental attacks.

Smirking at his words, and evidently interested in Xie Xan's growth since the leech had been kind of Ja Sun's only other male friend besides Oscar, he chimed, "Well, let's call it a draw... like others. I guess I'm not in the mood of marking any defeats unless someone is absolutely shit-like."

There was no need to mince words as Xie Xan scowled, "Hey, how does Oscar win and I don't?"

"I don't know? He was the caterer in my wedding... and you were just eh."

Deadpanning, Xie Xan grumbled and adjusted his mood, "Did he do something different? If it's helpful, I would want to learn new things, too."

"Of course, it was different. That's why, including you, there are three draws and only one winner," Ja Sun rolled his eyes, his wounds now starting to heal by themselves as Xie Xan's eyes twitched. With the inclusion of his yin core, the wounds left by moon blades in ravage raven transformation should continue to bleed for 30 minutes easily but it still hadn't been a minute and even the fresh scratches patched up nicely.

"So..." Xie Xan drawled out with a hesitant expression as Ja Sun sat down, "Of course, like usual, discounted trade at the end. Since it's a draw I'll throw in something nice, too." The sage grumbled by the end of it as Xie Xan shrugged, fully aware of Ja Sun's conflict on the matter and knowing that trying to poke fun might just reduce his own goodies, Xie Xan vowed to tease the 'god' after taking the rewards.

"Who should I send next? We're already done and now only Violet and others are itching to spar with you." Xie Xan inquired with a thoughtful hum, "By the way... nice!" and added with a knowing smirk that made Ja Sun snicker, "I know, right?"

---

Zi Ji's giant body lay on the ground as each, strained huff from her midnight, scale-covered body raised miniature dust storms with Ja Sun sitting over her nose, nay lying.

"So? I guess you won't be having your reverse scale just about now, love," he chimed. That's what Zi Ji wanted the most from him aside from having herself filled every now and then but more than that, knowing that a part of her body that could never be reproduced again was with someone else, even if Ja Sun, made Zi Ji have this urge to win it back.

She stopped caring about the reverse scale itself. Losing it didn't weaken her. It riled her further. It was about the principle of the matter as her slightly raspy tone echoed in Ja Sun's head, "One of these days... I will reach your level. I just don't want to only follow you..."

Ja Sun's smile broadened at this. It was a little gratifying to know that he could light such desire in natural disasters of Zi Ji's level since it will only make them grow and he honestly looked forward to it all. Not just their strength but their ability. There is a clear difference in both.

Soon, Zi Ji reverted to her new, hybrid form. Her body was still injured in many places but she was quite accustomed to it and simply returned the favor by resting her head on his lap with a pout.

"I told you not to hold back!" Zi Ji growled, her tiny fleshy wings twitching somewhat as Ja Sun, with an amused chuckle, retorted, "Last time I didn't hold back, I beat the lot of you and you were unconscious for two days. Good times... now I wonder when I'll find a challenge even greater than Di Tian."

"Di Tian made you explode that divine artifact. Anything stronger and you may really lose." Zi Ji scoffed, but she had no worries. It wasn't like her to worry not because it's considered a weakness but that it wouldn't matter. Life and death paled in comparison to their desires, that's all. That's what makes beasts irrespective of their origins.

"Hah, bitch, I still haven't used my best domain. Since then, my martial soul has also evolved and I became a Titled Douluo. Believe me when I say this... Di Tian isn't challenging anymore and you beasts do grow a tad bit slower than humans."

"Best Domain?"

"Oh, I'll use it if someone can make me," Ja Sun smirked and the idea that Ja Sun still may haven't used all he had even when fighting against the King's Lair made the proud dragonness... mewl in need. These kinds of realizations made her frustrated and... just in need of him.

But.

*Thud*

A knuckle descended on her head while Ja Sun scowled, "Hey, we don't have time for this right now... maybe later," he coughed, "I'll give you a few pointers that'll improve your growth."

"... if you demand it~!" The bloodied dragon still had enough to purr huskily.

---

"I'm honestly appalled that you thought I'd beat either you or Xiao Wu!" Ja Sun admonished the pair of kneeling mother and daughter, both of whom sported innocuous, sad expressions as they lowered their heads akin to a pair of kicked puppies.

"Even I know not to hurt a child and a mother," Ja Sun lied as easily as he breathed as Xiao Bei felt worse for accompanying Xiao Wu. The mother was a little freaked out after seeing the conditions of a few individuals who participated in the battle. Betraying all her mother's worry, Xiao Wu whined, "I told mother that I will be fine... I even didn't wear my panties..."

Xiao Bei and Ja Sun's expressions froze as he blurted, "What?"

"Weren't you going to teach me a lesson?" Xiao Wu, the bunny clean slate she happened to be for her own depravity at times, looked up while carefully presenting the most innocent expression and knew to pin the blame on the easiest target, "Elder Sister Lana said that when you will teach me a lesson... I have to prepare for a hard one... and accept everything that you must bestow on me even if it meant swallowing every little bit of the lesson and digesting it. Elder Sister Lana also said that—"

"She did, huh," Ja Sun cut her off while narrowing his eyes. He would be a fool to believe the little rabbit's words. She was far too carefree and playful which meant that the 100000-year-old beast turned into a human and still under her mother's umbrella was always eager to cause chaos in her wake. Now, Ja Sun knew that Hu Lana was not the 'right' impression of Xiao Wu but Ja Sun also knew that Hu Lana would never be so blatant in her words.

Preparing for a hard one?

Bestowing everything to swallow?

What a joke!

Ja Sun trusted his debauched sister from another mother enough to know that these words were the result of Xiao Wu's own research... and impressed he was again.

For different reasons, of course.

Crouching in front of her, Ja Sun pinched her cheeks and scowled, "Be better, Xiao Wu... at least, don't be so blatant. I only speak for myself that being crass works for girls like Erlong and Zi Ji. Be subtle!"

Xiao Wu pouted and gave her mother a sidelong glare, "I... everything would have been fine if mother wasn't here!"

And the mother gaped, blurting, "What? I expected you to trust me enough to at least invite me!"

Xiao Wu blinked in surprise as Ja Sun nodded, "See? Learn from your mother."

And then he flicked her forehead, and then Xiao Bei's too, "So? Do you guys want to spar against me? Both of you have close-quarter combat skills similar to my gentle tactics since you guys are adept at using the opponent's force against them."

It was true. Although Xiao Bei was stuck as a Spirit Douluo and only recently began making improvements, Xiao Wu was still at rank 33. Despite this, both of them revealed a sense of similar fighting style that included locking the opponents and then quite literally breaking them in various angles if not being weightless and deflecting the force of the opponent's physical attack or using it against them.

"Oh... no?" Xiao Bei tilted her head, "Why do we need to fight if we can just ask for it?"

It was Ja Sun's turn to be surprised even if he did reply, "Because I don't give free things?"

"But... we didn't demand anything as of yet," Xiao Bei continued, "We're happy to cultivate with ourselves. Once we reach rank 90, even if our spirit bones will be fused with us forever, we would still be able to use the abilities as self-made spirit skills... Wasn't it you who started this competition alongside Sister Yin?"

Xiao Wu nodded as Ja Sun looked at the mother-daughter duo who sported similar expressions as they cluelessly poked holes in his desire to 'invest' but... with a front that didn't make him sound a lame charitable person...

"... Keep it to yourself," Ja Sun replied blandly.

"Only if you agree to do something for me—" Xiao Wu's eager smirk froze as she looked up to find an unamused Ja Sun frowning somewhat. Huffing and filling her cheeks with just air... she groaned, "Fine..." and crossed her arms, "I don't like you anymore."

Scoffing in return, Ja Sun ruffled Xiao Wu's hair before smirking. If he intended to NOT prolong a few things then this thought was discarded as he chimed, "You know what, the two of you reach rank 60 and 90 respectively and I'll let you work with a special carrot."

"A special carrot?" As witty as Xiao Wu had grown, she didn't catch on quite quickly as her mother for carrot was her one weakness. A good thing, Ja Sun noted.

"B-both of us?" Xiao Bei gasped.

"Of course. It would be unholy of me to even consider separating a mother and a daughter..." Ja Sun smirked.

Xiao Wu finally caught on and frowned, "How can you be crass but I have to be subtle?"

"Because you can always wear a skirt and flip it discreetly to give me a good look but I can't take off my pants and show you the stuff. Words are all I'm granted."

Ja Sun replied with a snort and before Xiao Wu and Xiao Bei could persuade Ja Sun otherwise to at least have a good measure of their special carrots, he sent them out before groaning.

'Damn... of everyone... only these two are the most carefree... wait, it's like those stories where the King has some most special consorts and whatnot...'

But despite his groan, a smirk made its way to his lips as he giggled the next second, 'Damn, I have two bunny, ah, sorry, rabbit consorts... a pair of mother and a daughter... and people say it's bad being vain, tch, tch... I should give them something special to help them reach their targets quickly.'

If Ja Sun felt conflicted then... he didn't feel the conflict in the force now.

Should have let Xiao Wu and Xiao Bei enter before others, Ja Sun now thought to himself.
