Chapter 30: Old Yasuo
After Kokushibo left to look for a baby from an insignificant woman, Huitzi began making preparations for the swordsmith village.
'It would be too dangerous for me to go there myself. I need a scapegoat again, but who... ah, I know, a zombie will be perfect. I just need to find their cemetery,' Huitzi thought of a simple plan and started wandering around the village, looking for a cemetery or a dead body of one of the swordsmiths.
After finding one, he created a zombie and implanted a flesh sprout in it so they could communicate.
Zombie's POV
'What's going on? I died, didn't I? It seems my old eyes will see the sun once again. Wait, what? The pains are gone.' A zombie from the swordsmith village rises from the dead.
"Hello, I am your new lord. You may call me Nosferatu. Now hurry up, stand, and present yourself," a young man I had never seen before appeared before my eyes.
I felt an immense presence and pressure coming from him, a desire to kneel and obey him took over my body.
"Hello, Lord Nosferatu, I am Yasuo the blacksmith," I said, kneeling.
"Welcome back to life, Yasuo. From now on, you will be my servant." The young man then placed his fingers on my neck and seemed to absorb something, though I didn't know what.
"Yasuo, your mission is to go to the village and speak with the current chief, or whoever holds a similar position, and then contact me using the flesh sprout in your head."
After this order, I immediately went to fulfill my duty.
Approaching the village, I saw two guards who seemed familiar, though I couldn't recall from where.
"Hey, who are you, old man, and where are your clothes?" When I heard him, I recognized him.
"Ryoji, how are you so young??" What's going on, how is he so young while I am old?
"What, how do you know my father's name?" Ah, this explains a lot.
"You're his son, then the lord revived me a long time after my death, huh? You've already become an adult, almost an old man, while in my time, your father didn't even have a son. How old are you, young man?"
"Old man, you're senile, not making any sense, but regardless, you still need to stop right there."
"... I'm sorry, young man, I'm lost in old memories, but I have a mission to fulfill. Take me to the village chief."
"I won't repeat it again, who are you and how do you know my father?"
"Young man, I crafted your father's sword, that's why I recognized you."
"That's impossible, my father died a long time ago. There's no way you could have made his sword." Then I started talking with the guard, and gradually, he began to believe me.
In the meantime, the other guard went to get a cloak for me. He went and returned quickly, making me nostalgic for my youth.
"How is this possible? You've been dead for decades."
"I already assumed that, but it's still surprising how much time has passed since I died. But as I said, I need to see the current chief."
"No, unfortunately, you are a threat and need to be eliminated." I saw no other choice but to infect them with the flesh sprout, although it's not as good as those of Lord Nosferatu.
I had them take me to an old, isolated shed in the village and ordered them to call the chief.
"Hello, sir, I heard you were looking for me. So, who are you?" A young man of about 26 years old spoke.
"Well, you are not who I expected, but that doesn't matter, my mission is ready." My consciousness began to fade, and darkness took over my eyes.
Huitzi's POV
After sending the zombie Yasuo on his mission, I sat on the ground. The grass prickled my body, but I didn't mind. I lay down on it and watched the sky, the infinite stars resembling a beautiful painting. The mountains in the background, hidden by darkness, were visible only as huge, black silhouettes.
'Hahaha, it feels like I'm in a landscape used by Van Gogh... would it be plagiarism if I painted it here... hahaha, I'm about to start my grand plan, what am I thinking...'
After a while, a message was sent by Yasuo's flesh sprout.
"It seems it's time." Then I began to control his body.
"Hello, it seems you are the chief blacksmith. My name is Nosferatu, pleased to meet you." I bowed in a chivalrous manner.
"Pleasure to meet you, Nosferatu. My name is Shingero."
"Well, Shingero, I want to speak with Yoriichi."
"What did you say? You must be joking," the chief said in surprise.
"Look, demons will invade this place if you don't listen to me." I tried to use my body control to create a huge mouth on my arm. The mouth was so long it wrapped around my arm. When it opened, it stretched my arm in a spiral and cut the rope.
"What, an oni? But the wisteria leaves..." the chief shouted in fear.
"I feel offended to be compared to such simple and brainless creatures. I am a vampire, remember that, a vampire."
"What the hell is a vampire?"
"All you need to know is that I'm not on their side, but I can reveal this location to them for an invasion."
Seeing that I wasn't aggressive, the chief regained his composure. "What do you want, 'vampire'?"
I thought for a moment and threw some flesh sprouts, managing to parasitize the chief. "Well, I was thinking of negotiating with Yoriichi, but that would reveal me now, ahead of time. This method is much easier. Now go and infect the other blacksmiths." After saying this, I asked for a stretcher and a white cloth.
We left with Yasuo's body on the stretcher, covered with the cloth. On the way, some curious onlookers were told a story about an old man on the verge of death arriving and dying there, and that they were burying him.
Thus, old Yasuo had a burial the next day. By then, I had already left, but I left the old zombie alive for the future.
