Persevere

What was it that caused an attraction so thick when eyes were met? When fingertips brushed the pucker of a lip and legs bumped unknowingly under the dinner table? What was it, this invisible yet undeniable force, that caused a smile stretched so wide that teeth trembled? That punched until knuckles bruised and the rusty stench of blood filled the air? Although the sky remains dark and the road deserted, the faint sound of an accelerated heartbeat is heard miles away, and the fresh glow of blood filled cheeks is seen, although faintly, in the empty blackness. After all, this is a world of survival of the fittest, even when all that matters is romance.
