17 Findings 2

The entire visit took a little over two hours. As the mother and son duo is walking in the hallway back to the lobby, Trex decided to ask his new mother.

"M… mom, what did he mean about changing the future?"

While walking, Eliza didn't try to talk with his son. She knew how much of a man of action her son is, and talking was never his strong suit. Hearing him speak to her with initiative, she was surprised before she smiled.

"Oh, don't think too much about that, it was just when the scouts found you, there were signs of mana crystal ingestions on you. Doctor Sherman was also the same doctor who found those. At first we all believed you to be… an empty shell as that is what always happened for so long."

Picking the information from what his mother said, Trex continued, "How is that supposed the change the future?"

"Oh, here you see, in this world, only the strong have the right to change the norm. Generations and generations of arcanists had walked upon this realm, yet until now, most of the backward ideals of the first epoch are still the norm. Fortunately for us, the kingdom of Rapros was only established a few hundred years ago, and by a young king at that.

Eliza looked at his son before continuing, "Ever since the establishment of kingdom seven hundred years ago, the first king had different thaumaturgist and sociologist to study how the kingdom would be able to catch up to the neighboring kingdoms. After a long time, the most efficient path they found is to rehabilitate society in itself." Eliza paused as the doors are already in front of them.

"Are you hungry? It's 11:28 now, we can get some lunch on a restaurant nearby," Eliza asked her son.

Trex nodded. He did lose a lot of energy since the new land was added to the metal world. Not to mention the stress that was the doctor's visit.

Speaking of the doctor's visit, no wonder so many people hated visiting the doctors. That was absolutely terrifying.

Eliza opened the door. The moment Trex stepped out of the door, he could feel the terrifying pressure lessen by quite a lot.

Honestly, he was able to ignore the pressure as his body got used to it. Still, his ears started to ring as if he just climbed down from the top of a mountain all the way down to the base.

"You'll get used to it," Eliza said sweetly, completely understanding how uncomfortable it must have been for Trex.

Noticing her lady, Illana immediately left Shen at the front desk and ran over beside her lady.

"Should we go?" Illana asked.

"Mmhmm, we should get lunch first though," Eliza answered. Glancing towards the front desk, she waved, "We'll be leaving now Shenna."

"Yes Mrs. Rhemi, please do take care," She waved back with a smile and a wink towards Illana.

Illana winked back, blush visible on her face.

The moment Trex stepped out of the building, he heaved a deep sigh of relief.

"I know right, such a place with that kind of atmosphere. It's a surprise they're still in business." Illana added, her typical cold expression gone replaced with a hint of smile and happiness.

"Well, that's what happens when you're the only medical arcanamancer in this small town," Eliza quipped.

"Mmhmm, was Mar shaking the entire time?"

"Hahaha, he was. Especially when doctor Sherman casted a spell, a hex, a cantrip and his mojo," Eliza shared. Clearly in a good mood.

Reaching the car, Illana asked Eliza, "Which restaurant do you want to go now, madam?"

Eliza then took a glance at Trex, "Are you craving for something?"

"Uhm, how about steak?" Trex suggested.

"Oh, sounds good," Eliza then turned to Illana, "do you know a good steak house?"

"I remember once when I took monsieur for a dinner meeting, they went to a steak house and he called it great. It's two blocks away from here," Illana recalled.

"Great, let's head there."

*Kring kring*

The sound of wind chimes as the door opens rings on Trex's ears.

Surprisingly, the steak house that Illana talked about had a very Asian flair as the decorations are mainly wood and bamboo. A heavy contrast to the bricks and cement of the town.

After being guided by a waiter towards a window table, the three ordered their foods.

Eliza and Illana have a peculiar relationship, at least according to Trex. Most of the time, especially when Illana calls Eliza madam, one would think their relationship is strictly that of an employer and employee. However, sometimes, it was as if they let go of their statuses and chit-chat like friends. Like how they were now.

The very woman-like nature chat of the two left Trex unable to join their conversation. Honestly, it wasn't like a bro chat would let him feel at home either. If it wasn't for Marko's genitalia, he wouldn't even realize he was a boy.

Now that he thought about it, this was actually his first time talking to humans as a human.

Trex mentally sighed, he's not part of the conversation, but he's already exhausted from being able to hear it.

Giving up on his attempts to join the conversation, Trex looked through the window.

On the opposite side of the road is a three-story building that seems to be dilapidated.

On the gate is a sign that says "Traveller's Arcade. Fun and Games." However, in the nearest window to the right is a yellow sign that says Foreclosed, contact x for inquiries.

Noticing Trex's gaze filled with interest, Illana looks out at the window. Eliza followed suit.

When they saw what was in front, the two women looked at each other with a helpless expression.

Why does it seem like whenever games are involved, it was as if he never lost his memories?

"Do you want to visit it, dear? Eliza asked tentatively.

Trex looked at his mom and shook his head, then he pointed to the sign in the window.

Seeing a foreclosed sign, Eliza had an 'oh' expression, then turned thoughtful as she looked at her son.
