You're Hired
Matt Smith held his hand out to Steph and waited for her to take it. He'd already been waiting for way too long before she finally shook it. Didn't she understand she was supposed to be grateful when someone offered her a job, particularly with all the concessions he'd made to the agreement? To be honest, if he gave any more, Matt wasn't sure he could still be considered a man.
It also didn't bode well that she did so reluctantly, but he needed her right now to make progress with Stella. It was slow progress, but at least she'd spoken to him, and if he had to learn about her one sentence at a time, he'd do that. Of course, Stella was hired help. At any time, whatever had her working for Hong Gi and Steph could evaporate, and Stella could move on to her next assignment. Matt needed to make the best of the opportunity he had.
