In The Arms Of Heaven

[A SHORT STORY TO RELAX AROUND] Time wasn't noted, when it happened. Where it happened. How it happened. But it did happen. The abnormal wolf creatures lurking in the forests finally revealed their existence to the human race. They were way stronger than them, and those humans knew it. They were taller than five feet, looked vicious, even had a dangerous aura. Their revelation had shaken them up from top to bottom, they had nothing-absolutely nothing usable to protect themselves to fight those creatures of the night. But what was unexpected was them turning into normal humans with a well-built body. Those abnormal humans didn't want to fight but wanted the freedom to live. To live alongside humans. But as time passed, brutal wars broke out, questions were raised, fingers were pointed, but nothing worked on them. Nothing changed their minds. They continued to live and humans, humans... eventually gave up. Heaven was a normal girl with a normal job enough to fill her stomach every day. These werewolves never really mattered to her. Although her experience with them wasn't good, they never troubled her because she was skilled to ignore and avoid them. But haven't you heard this? What you avoid the most will somehow make their way to end up near your doorstep. Heaven never did. *** [EXCERPT] "You indeed are my—" "Stop!" I took a couple of steps back, admitting to being anywhere but here. "Just.... don't say anything." Embarrassment was written in bold words on my face, I wanted to hide, far away from him. I couldn't believe I made a mistake. A foolish mistake. "Was it fun playing hide and seek with me?" Amazement crossed his features. That bastard found my ashamed self funny. I glared at him, gritting my teeth hard. I knew I was caught and I was caught very badly. "Cuz it looks like I won without even knowing."

hell king

“Mother,” I said as I opened my eyes. My throat was so dry that I couldn’t even speak. Everything around me is a haze. I gazed at the candlelight. It was wobbling from side to side. I noticed a woman seated near me, but everything was fuzzy. I heard a voice unexpectedly. “Max”. It was a woman’s voice. Her voice was echoing in my ear. That woman was singing a low-toned lullaby. “Mother, is it you, mother?” I asked softly. The sound abruptly ceased, and I heard my name. “Maxilin, I am here, son.” “Mother,” I said with a trembling voice. I do not know what’s wrong with me. I reached out cautiously to touch her, but she was out of my reach. “Where are you, mother?” I asked. “Oh, my beloved son, try to hold me. Come here,“ I heard the sound once more. “Mother,” I tried to stand up, but I was too weak. “Maxi, my son, come here. Follow me.“ I narrowed my eyes to see her face clearly, but I couldn’t because everything was fuzzy. A woman in a white or blue outfit moved in front of my sight. I took a few steps forward while still gripping the chair. “Mother, don’t leave me,” I murmured, dizzily. “I am not, my child.“ As soon as I heard it, I saw in a fuzzy vision that someone had opened the door. “Mother, please don’t leave me,” I pleaded. I let go of the chair’s hold and dashed behind that woman. “Mother, don’t leave me. Wait.” In my frail state, I shouted and followed her. “Huf” “Huf” In the middle of my path, I came to a standstill. “Mother, you’ve left me here alone once again,” I murmured. “Maxi,” I heard the woman’s voice unexpectedly. I glanced up and looked around. It’s all clear now, but I was stuck in the midst of the woods. I gazed up at the sky. A giant moon was staring at me, and a horde of deadly, voracious creatures was roaring around me. “Son,” someone touched my shoulder, and as I looked around, I saw a terrifying creature standing in front of me. That creature grinned and said, “Hello, dear.”

The foggy prince

There was once a king who had beautiful daughters. The youngest often liked to play with a golden ball near a pond, in the middle of a forest near the palace. One day, her ball fell into the pond, and it was much too deep for the princess to get, but she was given help by a kind frog who told her that her tears would even melt the stones. He told her that he would get her ball for her, if she allowed him to be her playmate and eat from her plate, drink from her cup and stay with her. She agreed, but she did not keep her word when the frog returned her ball to her. Instead, she ran home and left him behind. The next morning the frog showed up at her home, and he asked that she, please keep her end of the bargain. The king, upon hearing what happened, ordered his beloved daughter to keep her promise. So, she was forced to allow the frog to eat from her plate, drink from her cup and stay with her. The morning after, the frog told the princess that he would leave her forever if she did one last thing for him, which was to give him a kiss. She, being glad to be rid of him, agreed and kissed him immediately. At once, the frog turned into a handsome young prince. He had been cursed, and the only thing that could break the curse was the kiss of a princess. Another lesson in not judging anyone by their appearance, this story also has the added benefit of teaching your children that it benefits to keep your promises.
