Naruto: Ashigaru

-Konoha's orphanage, two days before the Kyuubi attack-

It has been seven years since I have lived in this Naruto world, and not a single day I spent without cursing my luck of being reincarnated here. I mean, this is a dangerous world, where the weak will be killed in instant without everyone knowing about it, and I have only read this story until Sasuke defeated Naruto and went to Orochimaru for power before I dropped it.

I still don't know anything about the power holder of this world, like Akatsuki for example. I know that they will be important in the future, but other than Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki, I don't know anyone who joined this cult, and the first one is the same age as me.

Fortunately, I was reincarnated with something that I can use to defend myself. Somehow, the one who was responsible for reincarnating me managed to give me the manual of all rokushiki and haki techniques through my head. I was grateful for this one, because I know this power well enough, considering I was a huge fans of the series. I spent all of my days since I can remember training for the power. Fortunately enough, Observation Haki can be trained without affecting the body, so I can learn it from the very first day.

However, for the rokushiki and armament haki, I could not train before I could walk properly, so I have to wait for a year and a half before I could start learning it. As for Conqueror Haki, the only way to awaken it is by having a life-or-death fight, and I am not ready for that, so I will leave it for the future.

Anyway, I don't want to only rely on my limited knowledge of this world before I was reincarnated, so I spent my day not only training, but learning anything about this world.

I learned a lot of things, such as how the current Hokage right now, Minato Namikaze, is the hero during the third shinobi war by defeating almost 10.000 troops from Iwagakure. That means I have to avoid Iwagakure at all costs, for they will be blinded by revenge at Konoha.

Then there are Kumo and Kiri who destroyed Uzushio together with Iwa but still being the loser at the end of the third shinobi war, so I have to be cautious when I meet one of their shinobi. And as the last big village, Sunagakure, we have some kind of love-hate relationship. They were Konoha's enemies during the second war and killed each other a lot, but they were our allies during the last war. However, considering they will betray us for Orochimaru in the future, I will treat anyone from Suna like how I treat others.

I sighed tiredly, cursing inwardly as to why Konoha made a lot of enemies in the past. once again I asked myself why did I consider leaving Konoha. Then a voice came from behind me, snapping my thought.

"Akira-kun, we are ready to leave in two days." That is my name, Akira Sou. I was a military medic in my first life before I died in the civil war in the middle east. And the voice who called me is Aoki Yamanaka, the branch member of the Yamanaka clan. But what everyone doesn't know is, he is also a reincarnator just like me. Unfortunately for him, he lived in the era before Naruto was created, so he didn't have any single idea about this world.

Our first meeting was also the reason why I decided to leave this village. We met a year ago when I tried to investigate a lot of orphan disappearances that I thought were just a kidnapper or worse slave traders that day. At that time, I was confident enough to tail one of the kidnappers with just my observation haki and my imperfect rokushiki. That resulted in me being pitted in the corner by the kidnappers.

Fortunately, when they nearly killed me, Aoki-san managed to save me and killed all the kidnappers, leaving me vomiting from a lot of bloods. Then he berated me for being foolish to follow a stranger for almost an hour, and I was lucky enough they didn't kill me instantly. But when he asked and found out about my reason, he started to curse in English, something that I thought I would never hear again.

That was the time I realized that he is another reincarnated person just like me, and we bonded over our misfortune of being reincarnated here pretty quickly. Fortunately for him, he was a former assassin in his former life, so he adapted quite well to this world.

He also told me that there is a lot behind the orphan's disappearance. They are not just being kidnapped by the slave trader. Instead, they were sent somewhere outside Konoha after they got brainwashed to be loyal to someone called 'Danzo-sama'. I cursed as I quickly recognized the name as one of the advisors of Hokage and the main donator for all of the orphanages in Konoha.

But when I thought the situation could not be worse, Aoki dropped the bomb on me,

"Akira-kun, my father is the one who is responsible for wiping the kid's memories and brainwashing them, and he has the list of the orphanage that will be the next one. The bad news is, your name is on the list."

That was when we started our plan to leave Konoha. For me to escape from being brainwashed, and for Aoki from the fear of being used as the same as his father someday by Danzo.

We also trained together, and I have to say it is good to have a sparring partner. I thought him observation haki and some of the rokushiki skills, while he thought me all of the ninja and assassination skills and helped me perfecting my skill. Now, I can say I have a decent mastery over my rokushiki and two of the haki skills that I can use it in a fight.

As for information gathering, I have to say that Aoki is definitely the best in this business. With him being a former assassin and a Yamanaka with their mind technique, there is not a lot anyone can hide from him. I also give him the idea from the novel Harry Potter about occlumency and legilimency, and he managed to recreate the passive legilimency and used it whenever he wants. Of course, he also thought me how to shield my mind so that no Yamanaka will be able to have access inside of it.

But in all honestly, our biggest information source about Danzo right now is Aoki's father. Right after Aoki managed to do passive legilimency, he scanned his father's mind every day, and what we found is clearly something very big.

It turned out that Danzo is a very ambitious person who has the desire to rule Konoha and conquer the world. He did a lot of bad things that I think one chapter will not be enough to tell about it. But the most important thing that we learn this day is the fact that Danzo works together with someone to release the Kyuubi two days from now to kill the current Hokage, gain access to the new Jinchuriki which I can guess easily is Naruto, and blame Uchiha clan for the mess.

So, we decided to escape from Konoha on the same day by disguising our death. We cannot risk telling the higher-ups in Konoha as we don't really know who is the friend of Danzo.

But back to the orphanage again, I sighed as I heard Aoki from behind me, turned my attention to him

"Let's re-evaluate our plan once again, Aoki-san."

This is the first chapter of my story, and I will try to not stick to the original plot too much. Instead, I will try to explore more characters like Karin, Zabuza and Haku, Pakura, and so on. What do you think about it?
