My lips parted. I can feel how his hand tighten on my waist and his breaths on my neck. My heart pounds so fast that I can hear every beat.
I cleared my throat and closed my eyes. His warmth isn’t familiar, but why do I feel like I’m safe in his arms. It feels nice... I hope he won’t hear how fast my heartbeat is.
“Damn!” His hug tightens even more. “You’re safe… thank goodness, I-I… I don’t want to lose you again, Soleada.”
My eyes went wide instantly as I open them. Did I hear him right?
“Sol... Soleada?”
His breath stopped for a moment before he held my shoulders and pulled me away from him. Cadmus’ lips parted while his eyes are in shock like he realized something about what I said.
I frown. “You called me Soleada...”
His eyes widen for a second, and then he took a deep breath. The shock on his face went gone instantly. Cadmus let down his arms and turned his eyes on the veranda. He shook his head with his eyes on the outside.
