The Web?

Chapter 17

It was definitely getting cold now. Time flew past and it was now November. Stark had finally gone overseas to present his weapon to the military there. This confirmed to Xavier that this world was a weird cross of the MCU and Andrew's Spider-Man iteration.

During his time in the Middle East, Tony had been abducted in his first week there as well. While he was keeping tabs on the news for strange occurrences in the chance that more memories come back, Xavier and Peter had gotten a promotion.

Actually, most of the group had gotten a promotion from being interns, now working at their shops every other day. It didn't pay much, but that was to be expected as they were still students. On their project, Xavier had gotten enough experience building with Dr Octavious' tech that he was able to make gadgets now- not anything complicated yet.

So far, he had begun to mess around with the collapsible limbs that Doc Oc had in the comics and the movies. 'I know there's a chance that I'm going to mess up the time sequence of his change, but it should be fine.' He thought while fixing a prosthetic.

Peter and him had figured out how to link the new limbs with the neural network in the body, allowing a smoother connection between the body and prosthetic. He was currently working on a fake hand that had gotten a bit of the frits while testing.

"Ah! I see what the problem was, one of the wires had gotten loose from its frame and started messing with the power supply… I'll have to take it apart to make sure all of the other wires are secure and will stay the way." Xavier said, making Dr Octavious come over and see himself.

"Haha, clever as always Xavier! I had guessed that as a possibility, but I thought the software was the more likely cause of the jitteriness when moving about." He commented.

"Thank you Dr Octavious, give me a half hour and I'll have fixed the wire problem. Oh, and I'll update the future blueprints to account for it as well."

"All right, while you do that, I'll check on Peter at his station. I believe he had come up with a permanent neural connection."

"Permanent huh? Sounds familiar, I'll have to make sure there's some fail-safes put into our personal designs… Especially for the Dr." Xavier muttered under his breath.

After getting out of the workshop, Peter and Xavier made their last trip to the Lab. Over the past month they had been slowly cleaning it out and moving it. This was because Xavier had recently realized that either Harry or his Father Norman would become the Green Goblin, and having the Osborns knowing about the tunnel system leading to their Secret hideout was a bomb waiting to go off.

Xavier had found an abandoned warehouse downtown that had a basement built in. He decided to move the Lab down here and deck the place out. So far the boys had just barely gotten everything moved out of the Lab as they only made one trip a day to avoid detection. Though, Xavier had gotten enough Tokens from his daily patrols to buy a few expensive things. The first being a camera system which was undetectable for unenhanced human eyes.

The next used up most of the points that he had left, and he had to build it himself. Xavier had gotten fed up with waiting slowly for his strength to rise to where it was supposed to be in every iteration of Spider-Man. He had found that while their physical strength started lower than it was supposed to be, it rose slightly with every fight the boys got into.

'While our stats have risen, It's so excruciatingly slow.' This led Xavier to buy two things from the shop. One was a serum that would work something like the super soldier serum- It would extract whatever was in their bodies that was enhancing it, and use it all up to finish the process in one go.

That and some high level IV that would give the boys the nutrients they would need for the process. This would be Peter's job. Actually The only reason Xavier had gotten Peter to go along with the move was the excuse that they would need the space in the future. \

Xavier's job was much more complicated. He would have to build the chamber that the process would happen in. The blueprint alone cost 250 Tokens for the chamber, as it was fairly high-tech. To do this, Xavier had to buy a manual for forging on the system and another for welding, each costing 10 Tokens. Between learning how to forge to a level good enough to build the chamber and actually building it, the whole thing took up most of the month. With a lot of all nighter's as well.

"This was a bitch to figure out." A sweaty Xavier mattered, clearly annoyed, standing in front of the machine. It essentially looked and worked similar to the one from the Captain America movie, just without the radiation.

Turning to where he last saw his brother, he found him asleep at his desk, which was absolutely covered with different chemical formulas. 'Sigh, looks like it's my turn to carry my brother home tonight.' The brothers always did their nightly patrol before jumping into their work at the new hideout.

"What should we call this place anyway? The Web?" He asked, picking up Peter and swinging him over his shoulder. On his way home Xavier kept thinking about different plans for the near future, all just barely out of reach because of how long he'd have to actually wait for them to happen.

Norman Osborn was still missing from the limelight and Harry wouldn't say anything about it. Though, he was getting increasingly stressed lately. Xavier took this as a sign of the Osborn sickness either showing itself in Harry or that Norman was getting worse or both. There was news of a death in one of the project centers inside of Oscorp recently as well, and it was in the Bioelectricity department too.

Maxwell Dillion had fallen into a tub of electric eels and was beyond recognition when his body was found. The only reason they knew it was Max was because they did DNA testing on his corpse. The news spread everywhere throughout the building and its facilities, then suddenly every employee and intern got a notice on their desks to shut up about it. This signaled to Xavier that Max had revived himself and got away.

This whole sequence of events made Xavier think more about the world he was put into as well. It seemed to be a cross between the MCU, with everything about Spider-Man being from the TASM series- Which he thought was for the best.

At this point he had gotten all of his memories about Spider-Man back. As for the MCU, he still had some major gaps. He remembered seemingly random events from Hydra attempting the take over of Shield to how Natasha would calm down the Hulk. Xavier had weird, spotty memories about the Marvel Universe, but it was all slowly coming back to him. The only thing? He had gotten fed up with all the waiting.

"That's the whole reason why I'm going to speed up whatever process Peter and I are going through. It's stupid and the wheels of the universe are starting to turn- We need to be ready."

To those who had problems with the Empire State, i'm going to go back and make it so the boys go downtown to fix that. I just wanted a high building for them to start at.
