An Unexpected Encounter

It was a bright and beautiful day for Ashlyn and her friends as they journey onto their next destination which is the Mauville City where Ashlyn can get her fourth gym badge.

"Such a beautiful day." May commented as she stretched her arms out.

Suddenly a white glow appeared in the middle of the road. Then four people and a Pokémon fell out of it. Oddly enough, the people looked similar to Brock, May, and Max. But Ashlyn recognized the fourth person and Pokémon. It was Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu!

"Um, why are we seeing doubles of us?" Max asked, confused.

"I don't see a double of me." Alain pointed out.

Their doubles turned towards them. They flinched at the stares.

"WHOA!" Ash exclaimed when he saw Ashlyn and her friends. "Why are there doubles of us?!"

"I wonder who that guy is." May commented.

Ashlyn shrugged, "Beats me."

{A/N: I'm calling the doubles May Two, Max Two, and Brock Two}

"Uh, excuse me, could you tell us where we are?" May Two asked.

"Well we're on our way to Mauville City." Brock replied.

"How did you guys get here?" Max questioned.

"Well Ash and May saw something shiny and wanted to get a closer look at it. So we followed them and when we got closer to the light, we got pulled in and landed here." Max Two answered.

"Interesting." Max cupped his chin.

Then they heard two stomachs growling. Everyone turned to the two May's who were laughing sheepishly.

"Well I guess lunch is in order." Ashlyn suggested.

And so, the two groups decided to have lunch together. The two Brock's were making lunch for everyone. Ashlyn and Alain introduced themselves to Ash and his group. Ash and his group were surprised by the amount of Pokémon Ashlyn and her group had. Ash and May were using their Pokédex and scanned all of the gang's Pokémon. However, there were some that their Pokédex couldn't identify. Ashlyn and Alain would show their own Pokédex and tell them.

"Wow! Such cool Pokémon!" Max Two beamed at Max's Pokémon.

"You even have all of the Hoenn starters. They all look very healthy, Ashlyn." Brock Two complimented.

"Thank you." Ashlyn thanked him.

"I'm amazed that your Corphish isn't causing trouble. Mine did." Ash commented.

"None of my Pokémon have given me any trouble so far." Ashlyn stated.

"Lucky." Ash muttered.

"By the way, what leagues did you win, Ashlyn?" Max Two asked.

"Indigo, Orange, and Silver Conference." Ashlyn replied.

"Cool!" Max Two beamed, "How many badges?"

"Three." Ashlyn replied.

"What about contests?" May Two asked.

"Rustboro and Slateport." Ashlyn replied.

"Lucky." May Two muttered.

"I have to admit that it's cool you have an Eevee, Max." Max Two complimented Max who was holding his Eevee.

"Thanks. I was glad that Ashlyn gave him to me." Max thanked him.

"Eevui!" Eevee thrilled.

"I can't wait for my first Pokémon." Max Two beamed.

"I'm pretty sure you'll like it." Max said.

"By the way, Ashlyn, where are you from?" Ash asked.

"I'm from Pallet Town, Kanto Region." Ashlyn replied.

"Pallet Town? If you're from Pallet Town, how come I've never seen you around town before?" Ash questioned, confused.

"Well I spent most of my time at Prof. Oak's lab. I was his assistant at the time." Ashlyn answered.

"I still would've seen you." Ash retorted, "Oh! Maybe my mom might know. What's your mom's name?"

"Delia Ketchum." Ashlyn responded.

Ash blinked in confusion, "Huh?"

"I got it!" Both Max's exclaimed.

"What do you two got?" May Two asked.

"Multiverse." The Max's replied in unison.

"Multiverse?" May asked.

"It's a term to say that there are universes that similar to our own." Alain explained.

"Wow! That is so cool!" The two May's beamed.

"So that means that Ashlyn is the counterpart of Ash." Brock theorized.

"Huh?" Ash blinked in confusion.

"Think about it: you're both from Pallet Town and have the same mother. So it makes sense." Brock stated.

"I agree." Max agreed, "We experienced nearly the same things with Ash."

"But why were we brought here?" May Two questioned.

"That's a good question." Brock Two commented.

"Lunch is ready!" Brock called out.

So the two gangs sat down for lunch. Luckily the Pokémon were behaving themselves amongst each other. Once they were done, Ash's Pokémon were interacting with the other's Pokémon. They were impressed at how strong Ashlyn's Pokémon were (Tesla, Talos, Legolas, Sebastian, Percy, Lancelot, Finn, Hestia, Kazuki, Ula, Jacinth, and Libelle). May Two's Torchic was amazed by Hestia's strength. Ash's Treecko couldn't help but respect Kazuki and Alain's Grovyle. The others were curious about Talos and stared up at him which made him nervous.

"Growl? (Um Ashlyn?)" Talos called out.

Ashlyn went over to Talos and petted him on his neck. He lowered his head next to her shoulder and she petted his head. Tesla jumped onto his back. The two turned to Tesla in confusion who smiled at them. Then Ashlyn and Talos smiled.

"Hey Ashlyn." Ash called out as he walked over to her.

"What is it, Ash?" Ashlyn asked.

"I want to have a Pokémon battle with you and Tesla!" Ash declared.

Everyone blinked in surprise at Ash's decision.

"I would be glad to. Tesla, would you like to battle?" Ashlyn asked.

Tesla looked at Ash and then back at Ashlyn. Tesla nodded, "Raichu. (Yes.)"

"She said yes." Ashlyn translated.

"Alright!" Ash cheered.

"Pika!" Pikachu cheered.

Ash and Pikachu stood across the field with Ashlyn and Tesla on the other side. Brock volunteered to be the referee of the match.

"And begin!" Brock announced.

"Alright, your move Ash!" Ashlyn called out.

"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Pikachu ran towards Tesla.

"Double Team!" Tesla created copies of herself, causing Pikachu to run through a copy.

"Attract!" Tesla winked and multiple hearts fly out. The hearts hit Pikachu whose eyes turned heart shaped. Pikachu started acting lovey-dovey towards Tesla.

"Pikachu!" Ash gawked at Pikachu's behavior.

"Focus Punch!" Tesla's fist glowed an orange color and punched Pikachu who was sent tumbling across the field.

"Now Aura Sphere!" Tesla formed a blue colored in front of her mouth and released it, hitting straight into Pikachu.

"How is Tesla able to use Aura Sphere?! That's impossible!" Max Two exclaimed.

"Indeed. But something tells me that there's something different about Tesla." Brock Two commented.

"That's true. Tesla is a one of a kind Raichu." Alain agreed.

"I'll say." Max added.

"Now Thunder Punch!" Electricity gathered around Tesla's right fist, and she punched Pikachu who cries out in pain and sent tumbling across the field. Pikachu was soon able to stand up, but he was still weak from the two powerful attacks.

"Pikachu, can you still move?" Ash called out.

"Pika!" Pikachu grunted.

"Alright then, Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Pikachu let out his electrical attack and aimed it at Tesla.

"Lightning Rod!" Tesla held her tail in the air, absorbing Pikachu's electrical attack.

"Oh man." Ash groaned.

"Swift." The gold tip of Tesla's tail glows gold and it releases multiple yellow stars from it at Pikachu who yelped in pain from the stars. Pikachu tumbled across the field and landed in front of Ash with swirls in his eyes.

"Pika~"

"Pikachu is unable to battle! Tesla wins!" Brock announced.

"Raichu!" Tesla cheered and ran towards her trainer. Ashlyn caught Tesla when she jumped into her arms.

"Well done, Tesla." Ashlyn petted her Pokémon partner who was enjoying her touch.

Ash picked up his Pikachu, "Pikachu, you okay?" He asked.

Pikachu nodded, "Pika~"

Ash let out a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness."

Ashlyn handed Ash an Oran berry, "Here, give this to Pikachu."

"Thanks." Ash thanked her and gave the berry to Pikachu who immediately munched on it.

"I have to admit, you're a strong trainer, Ashlyn." Ash admitted.

"Thank you, Ash." Ashlyn thanked him.

"I can see how you won those three leagues." Brock Two commented.

"But how is Tesla able to use Aura Sphere?" Max Two asked, curious.

"Well Prof. Oak and I still haven't found out why." Ashlyn explained.

"Interesting." Max Two commented.

"But I have to admit that Alain is more talented as me." Ashlyn admitted.

"You should give yourself more credit, Ashlyn." Alain stated, "After all, you learned a lot from Prof. Oak, didn't you?"

Ashlyn rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, "I guess so." She admitted.

Then she sensed three familiar auras nearby. Three annoying ones.

"Talos, Air Slash!" Ashlyn pointed at the trees.

Talos launched his attacks at where his trainer was pointed at. When the attack hit, they heard a metal thumping sound. Suddenly a huge green robot with the red letter "R" on its chest standing above the trees. It was Team Rocket, no doubt about it.

"Hey that hurt!" Jessie yelled.

"You damaged our robot! We worked hard on making this robot!" James exclaimed.

"And you're gonna pay!" Meowth proclaimed.

"Team Rocket!" Everyone gasped.

"Prepare for trou-" Jessie started.

"Wait a minute, why are there doubles of some of the twerps?" James interrupted.

"Oh yeah you're right!" Meowth realized.

"Everyone attack!" Ashlyn ordered.

Everyone ordered their Pokémon to attack as well. All of the attacks hit Team Rocket's robot which caused it to explode and sent the trio into the sky.

"Well, the twerps sure overpowered us." Meowth commented.

"As I always say, "double the power-" James started.

"Double the twerps." Jessie finished.

Wobbuffet appeared and saluted, "Wobba!"

The trio sighed in defeat.

"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" They screamed before disappearing into the sky.

It was soon evening, and the two gangs were still having trouble on how to get Ash and his friends back to their universe. May Two was the worried the most about this situation. Earlier, they tried to ease the situation by taking a few pictures together. Ashlyn downloaded the photos onto a memory drive and gave it to Max Two for safe keeping.

Right now, the two gangs were sitting down, looking up at the starry sky.

"Just how are we supposed to get back?" May Two asked, worriedly.

"I don't know, May." Max Two replied.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find a solution." Ashlyn assured her.

May Two looked at Ashlyn, "You think so?"

Ashlyn nodded, "I know so."

"Raichu!" Tesla smiled.

"Well I have to admit, I'm having a great experience being in your world, Ashlyn." Ash admitted.

"Pikachu~" Pikachu added.

"You know what? Me too." Max Two agreed.

May smiled, "I'm glad we got to make new friends."

Everyone smiled as well.

Soon it was morning. Both gangs were walking together towards Mauville Town. They were still wondering how Ash and his friends will get back to their world.

At that moment, a light appeared in the middle of the road.

"Hey that's same light we saw before!" Max Two exclaimed.

"Then that must be our way home!" Brock Two cheered.

"Alright!" May beamed.

Ash turned to Ashlyn, "I guess this is it, huh?" He asked.

Ashlyn nodded, "Yeah."

"Pika~" Pikachu chirped sadly.

"Don't worry, I have a feeling we'll see each other again." Alain assured him.

Tesla smiled, "Raichu!"

Ash nodded with a smile, "Right!"

Ash held his hand out to Ashlyn and she gently grabbed it and they shook hands. Then they let go and Ash held his hand out to Alain who gently grabbed it and they shook hands. The two May's, Max's and Brock's shook hands.

Then Ash and his friends went towards the portal. They stopped for a second and waved goodbye to their new friends.

"Goodbye!" They called out.

Ashlyn and her friends waved back, "Goodbye, hope we see again soon!" They called out.

Soon enough, Ash and his friends went into the portal and then it disappeared behind them.

"I'm gonna miss them." Max admitted, sadly.

Alain placed his hand on top of Max's head which caused him to look up at him, "Like I said before, we'll meet them again, someday." He stated.

Max smiled and nodded, "Yeah."

Back in Ash's World:

Soon enough, Ash and his friends had arrived at a Pokémon Center. They called Prof. Oak about the recent event.

"[So you met your counterpart from another universe?]" Prof. Oak asked, confused and shocked.

"Yeah, her name's Ashlyn Ketchum. She's amazing." Ash replied.

"[Interesting. Do you have proof?]" Prof. Oak asked.

"Wait! We do!" Max exclaimed.

Everyone turned to Max and he grabbed something from his pocket. It was a memory drive that Ashlyn had given to him. Max placed the drive into the slot on the phone. A photo appeared on the screen. It showed Ash and his friends standing next to Ashlyn and her friends.

"[Oh my! Well this is quite a discovery!]" Prof. Oak beamed.

"Hey, do you think we might meet Ashlyn and the others again someday, Ash?" Max asked.

"I don't know. But maybe we might." Ash replied, smiling.

"Pikachu~" Pikachu agreed.

"I hope so too." May prayed.

An unexpected encounter from two universes leads to new friendships. Both Ash and Ashlyn know that someday they will cross paths again. Now Ashlyn and her friends are on their way to Mauville Town for Ashlyn's fourth gym badge.
