7 Chapter 7

Theo instantly opened his eyes the second he heard the door creak open. An uninvited guest barged in obnoxiously.

" Gasp! What are you doing?! How shameful! You dare bring a boy home! How could you fool around when you need to focus for the U.A. entrance exam?!"

A middle aged lady, dressed in a high class outfit suited for a stay at home wife of a rich man, dramatically screeched her lungs out.

"Hmm?" Startled, Scarlet mumbled as she opened her eyes to Theo's protective back in front of her, blocking the lady from her vision.

Scarlet sits up and sighs. She greets the elder lady with a roll of her eyes. " What are you doing here, mother?"

" What am I doing here?! You have less than two weeks until the exam, yet you dare waste time playing around with boys?! Do you WANT your father to disown you?!"

" I don't care either way. Get out." Scarlet yawns as she waves away the irritating woman. Ignoring the raging woman, Scarlet lays back down.

" How dare you?!" Flustered at her blatant disrespect, the woman stepped forward, wanting to drag the undisciplined girl out of bed.

Theo instantly stood up to block her, but he was pulled back by Scarlet. Scarlet shook her head and pulled him towards her on to the bed. She buries herself into his embrace as she raised a hand towards the mother of her body's original owner.

" Eh?" The lady runs into an invisible barrier. " You-! Did you finally figure out how to use your powers?" After the initial surprise, joy blossomed on her semi-wrinkled and expensively maintained face.

Her heels scratched the floor as the barrier pushed her back, out the door.

" Ah, wait! Rei!" The lady called out to her daughter as she was pushed out the apartment. The front door was telepathically closed by Scarlet. The old lady banged on the door once she realized her key was useless after jamming it in the lock multiple times.

Reluctant of making a fool of herself in front of neighbors possibly listening on them, she finally stopped making a racket.

" As long as you enter the U.A. hero school, your grandfather will let us come back to the family residence. Don't disappointed me!" She huffed before leaving.

" We have to deal with family drama even in this life?" Theo huffs as he rubbed his face on Scarlet's bare shoulder where her t-shirt slipped off a bit.

" Mm-hmm." Scarlet hums in agreement.

" So shouldn't I work on getting a security team for you?" Theo mumbled, his lips skimming the cool skin of Scarlets as he spoke.

" Still a no." Scarlet mumbled. She had enough of big and scary men following her around everywhere, she wanted some privacy in this life. And it's not like she was powerless in this life, she her powers.

' Then I'll work on an undercover team for now.'

" No means no, Theo. No undercover guards either." Scarlet answers his thoughts.

" ... Fine." ' I'll just have to get stronger.'

" We'll get stronger together, no worries." Scarlet pats his back as she mumbled half asleep.

"... Could you not read my thoughts as you wish?" Theo grumbled as Scarlet fell into deep sleep again.

" Sigh. I might need to work on a mental shield or something." He closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

" Yawn!" Scarlet stretched in bed like a cat waking up. Eyes still closed, she feels around the bed. Realizing Theo wasn't beside her, she opened her eyes and sat up.

" Theo?" Her just awoken voice was husky. She called out for him once again after clearing her throat.

" I'm in the kitchen!" Theo answers.

Hearing the patter of Theo bustling around in the kitchen and the smell of food pleased Scarlet. She heads over to the bathroom and washed up before making her way to him.

" What'd you make?" She sniffs the air.

" Not much, just the usual breakfast we used have back then. The coffee should be done by now, pour you a cup." Theo flips an omelette as he directed Scarlet to the beeping coffee machine.

" Hm." Scarlet pours herself a cup of black coffee and sat at the dining table.

" Here you go, enjoy." Theo smiles warmly at her as he placed down a plate full of eggs, sausages, diced tomatoes and potatoes, and a portion of beans in front of her.

" Thank you." She digs in with anticipation. Theo was an excellent cook. She usually had him make most of her meals in the past. Theo was both a caretaker and a bodyguard to her.

" You're welcome. So any plans for today?"

Scarlet nods with her mouth full of food. After a second she swallowed and said, " We're going to the beach to train our powers."

" Okay." Theo consents to her plan as he munched on a piece of bacon. " Wait-" He paused. " The same place you said the protagonist trains at?"

" Yeah, why?"

" Can't we... just train far from him?" Theo frowns, disliking that Scarlet keeps showing interest in that green haired kid.

" We are." Scarlet nods.

"… You just said we'll be training in the same spot as him?"

" Of course not, I can't have him knowing our powers."

" Scar, I need you to explain whatever plans you have brewing in that pretty head of yours. I need to know what else I'm dealing with." Theo pinches the space between his eyebrows.

" Other than the villains I've told you we need to watch out for, the rest are harmless kids."

" They have powers, equaling not harmless. I need to keep track of everyone strong enough to harm us, since you want to watch shit go down at the center of the storm." Theo got frustrated as he ranted.

" Okay, I'll tell you what I know from the show I watched, so calm down. Take a deep breath, Theo." Scarlet tried soothing him with a soft voice.

The second Theo calmed down, clanking was heard from all around them. Objects falling back down. Their empty plates cracked as they fell back onto the table.

" What… just happened?" Theo whispered.

" I made you feel stressed, apparently enough to activate your powers."

" Being tortured, and reincarnated into a superpower filled world does stress the mind, you know." Theo tensely smiled.

" Yeah, I got it now. Sorry for keeping you in the dark."

" No, you've told me quite a bit already. I'm just a control freak that needs to fully understand what we're getting into." Theo sighed and looked up at her for answers. " I need to know everything, every single detail. Otherwise I won't be prepared for this worlds future."

" Okay so this is how it all started, humans evolved…."

They took their time discussing all the details and main events in the anime Scarlet watched as they ate to the brim, even having seconds. After their talk they went ahead with today's plan. To train their powers.
